Encuentro Cafe - San Diego - Photo album

We came across The Congress Cafe by default, when all of our usual Old Town options were closed. But, we're glad they were. I've probably driven by this place dozens of times over the years and never knew it was here. It's a low-key, almost hidden gem. The food, the beautiful outdoor patio atmospher
Delicious Venezuelan cuisine! We absolutely loved our food and drinks, and the staff were all super kind and helpful. Would love to come back. The quality of the food is just exceptional. Making my mouth water just thinking about it!
Fantastic food at Old Town San Diego, they have authentic Venezuelan food, the coffee is really superb and the taste of this unique food is really good. This is a neighborhood gem, this is a Must when come over to San Diego!!!
Yum! I have never had fish for breakfast, but it was soooo good. The outside area was shaded, thankfully. Fairly sure our server was homophobic, but we weren’t disrespected it was just a level down on the service we observed around us. The food is a bit pricey, but is in the touristy area of old tow
The food was really good. Went during the day of the "hurricane" and it was one of the places open. Greeted very nicely and served at an accommodating time. I gave the atmosphere 5 stars because I could see the potential if some of it wasn't closed off to the rain.
We went to this place on a Saturday at 9AM and got right in with 8 people, It is my new favorite cafe to go to! I just love the authenticity of the place and people! I ordered their spiced mexi mocha hot! Delicious! And the El Vainero *(chef’s kiss) Thank you! We’ll be back I can’t wait to try more
We ordered vegan and chicken arepas and I think they were very quite filling and tasty! Definitely must try. We also got tequenoes on the side and I think they were fine with the sauces the restaurant provided. I was super surprised to find out that they are the only Venezuelan restaurant in San Die
Spectacular food and service. It was the first time I got to try Venezuelan food and it left me wondering where I can find more. As someone who isn't big on breakfast, getting me to clean my plate is nothing short of a miracle. My husband also keeps talking about where we might be able to find Chich
Ive never had Venezuelan food, and this place made me regret never trying it before! The carnitas were so yummy and the arepas were soft and fluffy, I washed it down with fresh mango juice and Chicha (Venezuelan horcata). The meat paired well with the beans and salsas they give. The plantains are yu
Pretty great place. Loved the food, the staffs' good and chatty, and the place looks nice. Had the appetizer Venezuelan Board and it was sufficient for me and my wife. Really nice cheese and the sauces were great too. A little warm in the summer so do take note. But otherwise all good.
Gorgeous location & atmosphere. Family owned and the family is so sweet and welcoming. Food is amazing. It was our first time trying Venezuelan fair and it did not disappoint. So happy we stopped here and will definitely come again next time we are in town. If I didn’t have to leave early tomorro
Decided to stop by and have brunch in old town before the padre game, this place caught our attention, they have a lot of Venezuelan dishes which I’ve been wanting to try, the host/server greeted us real quick and got our table inside, they also have a patio, started off with a mango mimosa which wa

Our first experience with Venezuelan food. The waitress was so helpful and gave us good information and answered all of our questions. The authentic green sauce was excellent. Venezuelan food is typically not spicy but being in Old Town they offered a spicy green sauce as well. All of the flavors bl
The food was awesome everything tasted really good. And the staff members are lovely people. It was my first time traveling alone for a tournament and even though I didn’t win my tournament these people made my trip worth it. One of the best experiences I’ve ever had. It felt like if they were famil
This Lil gem in Old Town is lovely. Ambiance is super chilled and outdoors. Service is friendly and prompt. We loved the arrepas with cheese and plantains as well as the El criollo plate. Delicious. We were stuffed in the end. Our 4.4 years old absolutely enjoyed her time as well and fell in love w
Excellent. Authentic Venezuelan cuisine. Cute and quaint vibe. Street parking. Brunch libations for the win, as well!
Amazing little hidden gem. Amazing coffee, friendly service. May need to staff up a bit, as the wait was a little longer than my group would have liked. Yet, if you're not on a lunch break, and have relaxing time with a garden like atmosphere (dog friendly) . You want to try the place.
