Great Mexican food! I’m usually not a fan of Mexican food but this place serves really tasty burritos.
California burrito was simply amazing. It has cheese, sour cream, potatoes, sauces, and steak inside. We got the steak replaced by the chicken, you could go either shredded or grilled.
Rolled tacos were good too. They serve carrots along with complimentary chips.
The service was quite quick and the servers were extremely friendly.
I found that I have been cheated all my life by Tacobell after eating here.
Favorite taco shop in Point Loma. Their California Buritto is solid and I love that they have all day Breakfast. If you're dining in, they have chips and carrots. Also available for take out but for a price. Their Chile rellano is great and perfect in a burrito.
Specifically searched google maps for carne asada fries and this place did not disappoint! The portion wa HUGE--definitely enough for two, or possibly even a third. The horchata was also delicious and quite sweet. The chip bar had green or red salsa and cold garden veggies. I will be back!
EDIT: I have had Carne Asada fries from several places since my last visit this place might just be the BEST CARNE ASADA FRIES in the county! Seriously great. The portions of mix-ins are darn near perfect and their guac tastes better than most (that's saying something!). It's hard not to eat a full serving!
My son had enchiladas, my husband has carnitas tacos and I had potato tacos. I liked my tacos hard shell. That's how they made them. Not small tacos either. The carnitas meat was very good. Sometimes other restaurants have their meat over cooked. Not here. Very moist and delicious. My son enjoyed the horchata drink. That was good too! I'll go back again
It's been since 1995 since I have eaten here. I was going to school at Anti Submarine Warfare and we used to come here to grab Carne Asada burritos. Pretty sure I gained 30 lbs the first year I was in the Navy!
This is a great place to get delicious Mexican food at unbeatable prices! The portions are large, and the folks are friendly. Like most of the best Mexican food in California, you get free chips and salsa as soon as you come in to dine. The tacos are phenomenal! The burritos are massive! You will never leave this place hungry!
We went to this place since they mentioned at Point Loma they had the best food. It did not disappoint. Very good food with chips and salsa as you wait. I had the California burrito. Another person has the steak and burrito and fish tacos. Very reasonable cost for amount of food.
Great food, tried a few different options, and the burritos are great!
My husband and I love the burritos and carne asada fries from here. Everytime we've visited SD we've stopped by for one or both of those. No frills Mexican food just the way we like it.
What a great spot. The food is AMAZING and the guys there are so nice. We asked for recommendations and they were spot on. The portions are very generous -i could not finish the carne asada fries and even with help we took home leftovers. The chicken quesadilla was delicious and huge (a little spicy if you have a sensitive pallet) and the burrito is so filling. The 3 bean taco plate is so big as well. There are tables inside and places to sit at either tables, booth or at a counter. The bathroom is also clean.
Good stuff! Huge burrito, probably a can's worth of beans and tons of rice. Fork shown is typical size! I felt like I wanted lettuce or something on my burrito.... maybe next time I'll explore the menu more.
Been going here for Mexican food since shortly after they opened in 1988. Great food. Can't go wrong with anything on their menu (although I especially like their rolled tacos).
Only thing that I don't appreciate is when that customer walks in the place with a dog that clearly isn't a service animal. Fortunately, only had this occur once in all the years I've been going here.
Great crispy chicken tacos. The chicken meat was nice and hot and well seasoned. The taco shells were sturdy and had a good flavor.
They put plenty of lettuce and cheese on the tacos so it was a filling meal.
My main issue was the salsa. In my opinion is was subpar. In my opinion one mainstay of any Mexican restaurant should be their salsa as it is usually put on all of the food items. When I put the salsa on my chicken taco it ruined the flavor. I’m glad I tasted the taco before putting it on. I’m also glad I had two so I can thoroughly enjoy the second one.
Also tried the bean tostada. The beans were not particularly tasty. So I stopped eating it because I knew the salsa would not help the flavor.
Super awesome Taco Shop in Point Loma/Liberty Station area. The food is fresh, ample, and delicious. The staff was warm and friendly on early Saturday morning. A great place to get some classic San Diego Mexican food.
Got the 3 rolled tacos with rice & beans. You get a lot of food for the price and it’s good. Make sure you go!
