The food was good, portions were decent but the only thing that I didn't like was on the sea bass the skin was still on and made it taste weird and a little fishy. I peeled it off myself but maybe they should have done that from the beginning also just a tad bland. ..other than that, it was not bad.

Ordered the Dynamite Shrimp Bowl with white rice and choice of sauce (white tartar). This bowl included cilantro, onions, cabbage, sesame soy sauce, tomatoes, and Dynamite sauce. There were about a dozen pieces of shrimp in the bowl. Food was very good and quickly prepared. This place had almost every table taken indoors and om the ourdoor seating area. The employees were super helpful in helping me select a choice for a first time visitor.

Again, a great experience at a fish grill. We got the fish and shrimp combo with added coconut shrimp and a fish sandwich with added shrimp skewer. Cooked perfectly and great portions. We took half hone for later. You have rhe choice of doing self order too and that was quick and convenient. I recommend coming here for lunch or dinner soon. Yum.

We ordered the shrimp tacos with pinto beans, fried calamari with sweet potato fries, chicken strips in regular fries, and the shrimp trio plate. The dynamite sauce is bomb! The Dynamite sauce has a spicy kick. You could put that on crispy green beans on shrimp Delish.! Crispy green beans was by the best crispy green beans I’ve tried! Yum

First visit today and had the fish and chips with “kaleslaw.” I ordered from the kiosk which was a bit different than the menu on their website. I wanted the “petite plate” of fish and chips but it wasn’t under that heading on the kiosk. I went ahead and ordered the regular size (later found out the petite plate version was under a different heading and wasn’t called “petite plate.”) This is a fast casual restaurant not unlike Panera Bread, but the food took much longer, more like a full serve restaurant amount of time. The fish and fries were EXCELLENT and a good value for the price. The “kaleslaw” was tasteless (that is until I put a packet of malt vinegar on it…then it was delicious!). I’d like to give them a 4.5 but the confusing kiosk ordering, the amount of time for the food to be prepared and the undelicious kaleslaw caused me to deduct a star. I would go again to taste some of the other plates and maybe get a different side than the kaleslaw. Their brewed iced tea was delicious! Dining area was nicely set up and lots of outdoor space with umbrellas for shade. Very clean as well. Nice bathrooms. That’s about it!

My grilled tilapia was very good and cooked fresh, therefore 4 stars. My tomato side dish was swimming in oil although it was described as ‘seasoned’. My friend enjoyed his fried catfish, fried calamari and french fries. Service was ok, the ambiance is loud, hot/stuffy inside and uncomfortable. Meh.

Erica, the manager along with Ruth, Maria and the entire staff are absolutely amazing. They go above and beyond to ensure that the quality of the food is great. Customer service is spectacular and people are thoroughly happy overall. Will definitely be back. Some restaurants in the area should come and observe their great service.

This our go to when we’re nearby. A pescatarian family of 5 can eat for a reasonable price. FYI this location is now cashless. The salmon sandwich is always yummy & seasoned well. The bowls are great too. Only downside, I wish they used Heinz ketchup. I make a mess squeezing the little packets.

When it comes to seafood grill, California Fish Grill is top on my list to eat. Since the discovery of this establishment, I've been dining here at least every other week. They have a variety of fish menu and things. Today, I have their Cajun fish tacos with rice and Oceansloe salad. It's delicious as usual and perfectly seasoned. The staff are friendly and the establishment is clean and tidy. Parking is plentiful and it has handicap services. I've been to 3 California Fish Grill in San Diego and I preferred the El Cajon location a lot. The Mission Valley location has not master on their portion size and plate presentation. But always a clean plate when I'm done eating. Visit them. You won't be sorry. Good eats.

Food was legit. Would recommend. They have branzino and that’s not easy to find. We ordered two main dishes and two sides to get a variety and liked all of it. Pros: • Plenty of seafood options • Healthy and Fried Options • Plate, Salad or Taco configuration • Staff was super friendly • Lots of people but seating was comfortable • Short wait times • Easy parking • Near lots of shopping / other restaurants • Near nature trails • Bathroom was clean • Plenty of sauces to choose from Cons: None yet

Fantastic service and great food. Had never been here and when walked in, confused about what we wanted to get, the very kind gentleman working the counter walked up and stood next to us, showing all that they offered and giving suggestions. Was a delightful experience and very tasty food!

I love to visit this restaurant often with my wife because it’s semi casual, grilled fish is good and plenty of varieties and the sides excellent! Service really very helpful and friendly! Plenty of dressings of different types! The price is fair. It’s off the green line at Mission Valley station and 2 minutes walk…very convenient. We tend to sit outside patio which is nice!

Everything was great. Thr sweet potatoes fries weren't greasy. Although there is a lack of sauces/marinades. Not a fan of cashless payment is the only reason not 5 stars ✨️ for service.

After over 30 years of trying “fish and chips” restaurants in the UK, sorry this place is better! But the Brits are used to getting beat at their own game (World Cups, cricket, cars, banking etc.). We got calamari and fish, also chicken taco combo. Place has a clever modular design of the menu so can get personalized combo selection, fresh ingredients and very reasonable price. Did not have to wait long. Tables quickly cleaned, polite service especially considering this is not a table service restaurant, more like a fast food place. Bottomless drink, yay! Lemonade was actual lemon juice not fizzy drink.

Fresh fish and plenty of ways to eat it! everything is fresh and they have a lot of complementary sauces for all your flavor needs. The location is nice and right in the heart of Mission Valley. The location also serves alcohol and regular soft drinks.
