You ordered food from here once before and remember how flavorful and decently spicy the food was so I had to get some when my family was visiting from India . They love extra spicy food and it's hard to find that here. Jerk Chicken (sweet & spicy) Absolutely Love the chicken here! It's soft and pe
Simple and welcoming place located at the El Cajon boulevard in SD. This is one of my favorite places to go and grab a bite for a cheap price and a lot of delicious food! Not a fancy restaurant at all but the place has a unique and good vibe that makes your feel comfortable. I like the African songs
Whether it’s at their original location or at the street fairs/markets this company always produces! The food is very fresh and flavorful, it’s very hearty and you can tell it’s authentic in its roots, if you aren’t sure what to order just ask for their recommendations! Reasonably priced for such hi
Great food! GREAAAAT! We got 4 different meats and 4 different sides and everything was amazing! Will be my place from now.
We ordered for take out but then decided to eat there. The food was delicious. Flavorful. We ordered oxtail, with coconut rice/plantains. And also jerk chicken, ugali and lentils, with a yummy purple colored drink, very refreshing. The waitress was very sweet, she let us sample other drinks to see
I’ve had Flavors of East Africa at the Hillcrest Farmer’s market and at their brick & mortar location. Both excellent. The jerk chicken, lentils, plantains, lamb, egg plant, and rice were all gluten free. As I celiac I haven’t had issues with their food. I recommend a sweet & spicy jerk chicken comb
Been here twice and the food is delicious! The oxtail are huge and meaty. Generous portion of coconut rice or ugali along with the choice of veggies in which we have gotten the collard greens twice. My daughter ordered the shrimp curry before and was tempted to order again but went with the beef sho
This spot is DELICIOUS!!! The aroma poring out of this tucked away hidden gem would make anyone's mouth water...I do remember sampling their booth at the Farmers Market Once upon a time. When I started doing lunch time deliveries from there I had the pleasure of being able to try one of the plates!!
Great food... with an East African flare. Parking is tough but most people use the gas station next door.
Amazing. Everything about it. I got a large chicken combo (i think that was the name) which came with 2 chicken dishes, 2 vegetable dishes, and rice. The spicy jerk chicken and sweet jerk chicken were super flavorful, and they grill the chicken right in front of you. The lentils had great flavor, an
This place is GO TO! Absolutely 100% excellent. We've ordered so many times, and the food is incredible. My wife who spent her childhood and later early 20's in East Africa cannot praise them higher! Do yourself a favor and get some today. Yum!
Really delicious Kenyan food. Portions are huge and flavor is strong & yummy.
The hostess was very friendly when greeting us. My friend ordered an Oxtail dinner with mixed rice and plantains. I had the Beef stew with mixed rice, collards, and an assortment of Sambusas on the side. We sat on the outside patio, which is dog friendly and thoroughly enjoyed our meals. I highly re
Great 1st time experience with East African food. It was delicious. The server she was wonderful explained everything to me. I ended up getting the goat curry she recommended it and I never had goat before so I thought I'd try it. I also had the coconut rice and collard greens. She gave me samples o
This place was delicious. Their hibiscus ginger drink was so refreshing, the oxtail was amazing, and the jerk chicken was outstanding. The vegetables and sides were great too. All around amazing
Victoria (staff) was super amazing Best African food I’ve had in a long long time. I’m from DC, and this place is better than most places back there. Plus the prices are great!
The smell of the Flavors of East Africa pop up at the Ocean Beach Farmers Market drew me in & the long-but-quick-moving line assured me that the taste would be just as good. I had the medium sweet jerk chicken plate with plantains, saffron rice & curried lentils. It was all delicious, but I will be
I had the goat curry with ugali, greens and chapati. The food was absolutely delicious and the choice selection deep. My partner had a vegan option (the establishment is well known for its vegan menu). I was a big fan of their hibiscus juice but also had the passion and mango to go. The service was
Well my kids told me that I should give 5 stars so here it is. My son wants to give their fish 1,000 stars! Lol We loved everything here. We ordered jungle fries, samusas, sweet jerk chicken with wali rice and fried plantains, fried tilapia filet with eggplant curry and coconut rice, and hibiscus gi
