Excellent food, attentive staff and prices are reasonable. Food was tasty, great options on the menu and food presentation on point. Great variety of beautifully crafted cocktails. I had my shared of Japanese/Asian cuisine, but by far this one was my favorite and best. Patrick my waiter did not missed a beat. Highly recommend this jewel.
This place is amazing!! The ambiance is full on ghetto fabulous centered by an AMAZING arrangement of gorgeous pink cherry blossoms 🌸 🌸 🌸 !!!! The staff is attentive and friendly. My friend and I had Carla who was a spitfire!! I absolutely loved her! We basically told her to order us the best stuff on the menu at a budget and she did not disappoint! Every dish was flavorful and with great texture. Overall, it was a great experience and we will definitely be returning! 😊
Let me start off with I am a tough restaurant critic and food extremist! I love great food and sacrifice not fitting into my skinny girl clothes for great meals! A friend recommended Cloak & Petal for my birthday party, she spent her birthday there (I missed it) and said the food & service were phenomenal.
The sushi, sashimi, small plates were all on point. Food came out as ordered, the taste & textures were all new except foods you’ve ordered before. Fish SUPER FRESH, and little sauces for each dish, which I love.
I’m not much of a drinker, the drinks I tasted were so refreshing!
Recommend the Born & Dazed drink, Wagyu roll, double double, Shisito peppers, mushrooms appetizer was deeeeelishhhhhh
Have at it!!!
Food and drinks were great! Loved the vibe too, only complaint would be a little loud but I loved the music! Fun spot you should check it out 🌸
Great food and atmosphere and the service was outstanding! I recommend you give a try.
The place is gorgeous. Love the cherry blossom trees. Food was delicious and the service was great. We will be back.
Great food. Excellent service. This place is top notch!
Loved the ambiance; The dazed and confused drink had the perfect balance, and the food was amazing! Can’t wait to go back again!
Absolutely phenomenal experience!! Best Japanese restaurant in Southern California. A “must try”!
Pork bellies - to die for. Service - excellent.
We sat at the bar. It was our first time there. It was a lot of fun. The service was awesome!
I went here with two other people. We all liked the food, service and the vibe. We got a total of three rolls. The best roll in my opinion was the saucy girl. It was full of flavor and fresh. We got some sake and it was good too.
This place is an absolute must!!!! The vibe here amazing. The music consists of custom curated playlists that change daily. The food was spectacular and was served very quickly. The Shishito Pepper appetizer was so good. They have a great selection of drinks and the food menu offered lots of options. The quality of the sushi was 1st class. You could tell the fish was so fresh and was expertly prepared.
We were walking through Little Italy, looking for a place to eat. We weren't even sure what type of restaurant this was, but we decided to check it out. I am so glad we did. Great decor, great food, and great service. It was happy hour, so we ordered off that menu. Sushi rolls were fresh and unique. Drinks were Japanese inspired takes on classic drink. Everything was delicious! The service was great. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. We were well taken care of even though it was busy. I cannot wait to go back.
We had excellent service grabbing drinks at the bar. We were checked on frequently, our waters were refilled, and had very professional interactions with staff members. Thanks for the great attention!
Terrific location, so well decorated with beautiful pieces of art and anime.
We had miso soup, chicken gyoza, and different house rolls: philadephia, shrimp tempura and spicy tuna.
Everything was tasty and delicious.
Great place to have dinner or just a cocktail.
Really recommended
This place is so instagram-able. The ambiance is very cute and romantic. The food was okay. If you want a great date night with great lighting come here! I ordered the Waygu and it was so disappointing.. If you are coming for amazing sushi, I wouldn’t recommend this place.
I want to start off by saying that the restaurant itself looks amazing! The ambiance takes me back to Japan. The food looks and tastes delicious, as well as their cocktail drinks! I would definitely recommend the short rib tacos (egg roll style) and any of their specialty rolls. For drinks, my favorite was the dragonball tea.
Best sushi we’ve had in a while, and fun vibe. Saucy Boi was our favorite roll, but all were great.
Incredible dining experience. By far one of my favorite places to eat in California. Everything is fresh, the service is amazing, the decor is absolutely divine, the drinks are made so well, everything about it is great.
Wonderful dining experience! Sushi was very fresh, and had some unique takes like the Go Go Ohime Sama with strawberry compote. Of course, the traditional rolls were excellent as well. The staff was on point with everything. They accommodated dietary needs on both the sushi rolls and drinks. Our server made sure everything was completely taken care of. We never had an empty glass or dirty plate on the table. The restaurant interior itself was super cool. Located in Little Italy, it boasts a very vibrant interior with lots of colorful decor. The two cherry blossom trees are the centerpiece of the restaurant, and many people walking by would stop and peek in the window at them.
The food was great and the drinks were even better! Very lively atmosphere, but not too loud. Tables were a bit small, but the seats were very comfortable. We got a table for 2, but they also have larger tables. Great customer service as well.
Wow. This place has one of the coolest artsy atmosphere. From modern graffiti, huge neon signs and even a mural of Godzilla. This place is decorated top to bottom. Even the stairs to the bathrooms were not left out. See my photos for more of the atmosphere.
The servers were on point and always attentive. The food is very good and worth the dime. I like how it felt to eat there.
If you go make sure to try the Pork Belly Kakuni.
Love love love the lamb chops! Great drinks , ambiance was pretty and relaxing. Decor gives many photo opportunities.
We’ve been consistent patrons of Cloak and Petal for years. Their staff is always friendly and helpful, the atmosphere is fun and the food is fantastic.
I recently had an experience that prompted me to reach out to their management team.
Much to my surprise, my email was replied to promptly, followed up on and handled with so much care, I was blown away.
In an age where good customer service is hard to find - they went above and beyond.
Delicious sushi, delicious drinks, and beautiful atmosphere. My favorite part was when my drink came with a toy dinosaur 🦕 10/5 stars no question asked 💜🌸🌸
I had a wonderful dining experience at this sushi restaurant. The service was friendly and fast, and the food was delicious. I recommend getting a seat next to the window for a great view. Highly recommended!
The sushi rolls were great! The garlic edamame was mushy and way too much garlic. The dirty martini was so salty that I couldn't finish it. Happy hour prices are a good value.
Food was excellent, loved the atmosphere. Unfortunately service was a bit of a mess. I had a reservation for two, but when each of us arrived and mentioned my reservation, they seated us at two separate tables alone. Have never experienced that anywhere before. Our dinner arrived before our appetizers did, and our wine came much later after we were halfway done with our food. Personally will not be returning here again.
