Amazing food! Started off w the Mia cocktail. Could have have many more of these! I am not the biggest fan of Calamari but my boyfriend likes it. It was amazing and I couldn’t stop eating it! Very lightly breaded and fried, with a little lemon squeezed on top it was perfection! Also enjoyed the carbonara special, and the sage ravioli. The panna cotta and tiramisu were delish! Quaint restaurant with amazing service and food!

A taste of Italy, pure & simple. Everything is fresh and made daily. The same handful of staff is there everyday bringing you a warm meal, a good glass of wine, an intimate comfortable ambience or a sinfully sweet dessert. I’m there more times in the week than I can count. This is a true neighborhood restaurant serving brunch, lunch & dinner. I would make a recommendation, but you can’t go wrong with any dish!
A crown jewel hidden in Banker’s Hill. The dishes are fantastic (broccolini rippasati, tonnarelli calcio, risotto al verdure to name a few are beyond delicious). And the desserts are to die for. Brunch is a reminder of sleepy mornings along the Almafi Coast, just missing the Med. Sergio and the staff are gracious hosts and complete the experience. Do yourself and taste buds a favor and try Mia Trattoria!
I stopped in for dinner and was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere was intimate and friendly. The food was excellent we had the Burrata Prosciutto salad, Lasagne, and Chicken Parmesan, all were fantastic. Aside from the good food and space the staff was friendly, professional and experienced. This is a nice little jewel in the area. I will be back and I am curious to try their lunch.
Outstanding food. One of the best italian meals I have had outside of Italy.
Everything made fresh daily nothing frozen or reheated from the night before... service was top notch. Going back for the brunch next weekend.
Excellent service and food quality. Trattoria Mia is quickly becoming a neighborhood favorite.
Great food, great service!!! Definitely will be going again 😊

My husband and I had a delicious brunch and the service was great! We will definitely go back there again!
Unica!!!
Finalmente anche a San Diego si può gustare un'ottima cucina italiana!!!
I love everything about this place! Great people!!
Excellent food, nice ambiance, good service. Hidden gem!
Great new addition to Bankers Hill/Hillcrest area.
Excellent service quality management and my preferred dining.
Big fan of this restaurant. Food, ambiance, service were all delightful. I really loved the lighting. The ambiance was intimate, romantic. Felt like I was back in Europe!
Best Italian restaurant we’ve eaten anywhere!! It sets the standard for all other Italian food and service and we can’t go anywhere else now. I’ve tried a lot (and I mean a lot) of filets and this was cooked to perfection and the flavor outstanding. It came with fettuccine with mushroom that was like none I’ve ever tasted. The fettuccine with marinara and meatballs were phenomenal. You can’t go wrong with any food here!! It was romantic and the staff friendly and prompt. We enjoyed meeting the owner. We will be back next time we are in SD.
We always love to come here, this place never disappoints; wonderful service & delicious food. I,ve been in Italy and trust me, they’re food is just amazing!!
Wonderful neighborhood family run Italian restaurant. Very few tables. Quiet street. Outdoor seating. Big trees along the streets of this old San Diego neighborhood. Go here when you want a quiet meal with friends, or date.
Each time I have been here, food has been made to order and delicious.
Wow! Love this place! Sort of a hidden gem and the vibe, service and food here is wonderful. We went off of the nice gentleman’s recommendation and got the “seafood soup” oh my god it’s a seafood ocean! Amazing flavors so many goodies inside and it’s big enough for 4!
And of course the tiramisu is just perfect, not overly sweet and just right with the cocoa. We had a great night here and will definitely come back! It’s very refreshing to see a great restaurant doing solid and tasty food and not just after the trendy social media crowd. This place is great and it seems like the locals know it too ;)
Very romantic setting. The staff was very friendly. Unfortunately, our server wasn't too knowledgeable about the menu, but I just attributed that to being newly hired besides that her service was exceptional.
The menu had a great selection and a good assortment of sides.
Our dishes were good, not the best I have had, but I would definitely return to try other items.
Warm, friendly, authentic Italian restaurant. Excellent attentive, watchful service in a lovely space. The food was absolutely scrumptious, servings generous. Five stars all around.
Here’s the thing. It doesn’t make any damn sense how absolutely seasoned DOWN this food is. Raving reviews are rare for me because most foods air on the side of bland/mediocre/gentrified in San Diego. The pasta is utterly deliziosa! I legit speak Italian now after that meal. My daughter and husband loved it too! ALL of the fettuccine plates. Order them now and thank me later.
Suitable for family and has highchaira for children. Scrumptious food, portions are just right & a delightful selection of desserts. Just was not sure why 20% tip was automatically added into our bill already.
Delicious authentic Italian food. We had the eggplant Parmigiano, fettuccine with chicken and mushrooms. And for dessert had the chocolate cheesecake. Great atmosphere with easy parking. I would highly recommend it and will come here again.
Nice, quaint place with good food. It actually pulled me in by smell - I was walking by and could smell deliciousness coming from the kitchen so I went on in. Too bad I didn't have more time. Looks like a great place for a sit down meal. Next time that's what I will do!
Portions may seem small but it is very filling. The pasta tasted really good and the caprese was fresh. The service was also really nice 👍🏼
Absolutely authentic! I was fortunate enough to be there with a wine expert & chef, and both had the same opinion. Just simple, authentic food, no frills. Which was highly appreciated!!
You want family? Well this is the place! Got a problem with a dish? The chef is right there! They like garlic and aren't bashful about using it. But their roasted garlic is much tamed so don't give in just yet. A Bankers Hill go-to!
A very local, small but authentic home-kitchen Italian food. Enjoyed everything we ordered, but would hope there is some improvement in the complementary bread.
Very good food. The owners are Italian, so the food tastes about like it would if you made the trip to Rome. Service was friendly, but unobtrusive. Nice restaurant in a quiet neighborhood not far from downtown.
I passed by and stopped for delicious lunch. Tuna, octopus and cáprese were tasty and fresh.
It will be my new destination to get meal close to home.
