Fun place for family groups

Christmas time family group chose BUGA as our “night out” and we had a great time. Good variety of items to grill. Clean, comfortable facility. Service was good.

This is another good option for korean food if all your other Convoy/ Clairemont korean places are full or have a long wait. It is moderately sized, clean with plenty of parking and attentive servers and food is good. We skipped the all you can eat and opted for the ala carte but i ordered the bulgogi meat and i enjoyed it thoroughly. We visited on a sunday night and it was not full, and we were seated immediately. Food delivery was also timely and the place is not too noisy so that we were able to enjoy an easy conversation while dining

In case you haven’t figured out yet, S and I really love Korean BBQ. Lately, we’ve been indulging in our cravings quite a bit, trying out several places around San Diego that we haven’t been to before – Buga was one of them!. Buga’s location isn’t super nice – it’s on Clairemont Mesa Blvd near I-805, and shares a parking lot with the Motel 6. The building exterior also looks to be under construction and basically looks unfinished. But anyway, once you get inside, the place is pretty nice. There’s a big TV on the wall, which got us excited since there’s now one more place for us to watch football, haha.

This is a nice Korean BBQ with traditional Korean foods. Great service. Clean restaurant. Good food. The staff are friendly and attentive. The portions of food are generous. While not the best Korean food I’ve had, it is very good, and I would not hesitate to return.

I had an incredibly enjoyable experience at one of San Diego's finest Korean BBQ restaurants. The menu not only offers seriously super delicious BBQ options but also a variety of other outstanding dishes. I was so immersed in the delightful flavors that I forgot to capture many photos of the mouthwatering dishes. I savored marinated beef ribs, cold noodles, and steamed egg in a stone bowl – each dish was beyond delicious. The attentive servers added to the positive experience, displaying genuine sweetness and kindness. They checked on us with great care, a gesture I truly appreciated. The restaurant boasts a spacious parking lot illuminated by super bright lights at night. The clean and recently renovated bathroom further contributed to the overall positive impression. I wholeheartedly love this place and highly recommend it to anyone seeking an authentic Korean culinary experience.

Parking is hard to find during rush hours and watch out for parking spots that are motel-only (it's right beside it). The decor is very plain, 90s brown tones and red carpeting with tile, and the tables are semi private. We always get the beef galbi combo with the tofu stew, and it's absolutely delicious. The stew especially, has some small bits of seafood in it that put it over the top for me. All of the sides (refillable ) that come with the main meal are also delicious and we'll put together - there's some pickled, umami, plain, crunchy and sweet offerings so you'll be sure to find something you like. The service is prompt and courteous and we had no complaints in that department. This is one of our go-to's when we're craving Korean. Give it a try, and it might become yours too!

Very authentic Korean food! Love to introduce to all the Korean friends who visit San Diego. I am from 🇨🇦 Canada. Service is great and staffs are all kind. I went there everyday while I was staying in San Diego. Close to seaworld (10 minutes away) and neary by Korean market. Recommend strongly!!!

I've came here the in the last 30 days 4 times and I'm always wowed. The marinated meats have a lot of flavor. The service is great. They're quick to run to your table and serve you. They do keep it really cold in there.

The meat is high quality and comes in pretty large portions. Their steamed egg and banchan are really nice too. The set for 2 people was too much for us though, even though we already got the cheapest option ($54.99).

Recently visited after the renovations and it was excellent. Fast service. Good food. Multiple staff checked on us frequently, which was very appreciated. I just wish the fish cakes were included in the banchan sides like the old menu. This is our favorite KBBQ restaurant.

My favorite BBQ place in San Diego. The meat quality is good and high, I love beef brisket the most, and it’s soft and tender. I also love the steam egg and bean soup. price is ok for 2 people to order a combo. Environment is spacious and clean, and I never have to wait for a seat when I eating here. What’s more, when eating there, they don’t have too much lampblack. One thing about the waitress is that they help us to grill the meat, but they cook too fast. What happens is that our speed of eating can’t catch up their grilling speed.😹😹

We decided to try Buga based on the recommendation of a coworker and they got it right. The meat was definitely high quality and yes we did order the Prime cuts. Our server was very pleasant and engaging, what a wonderful dining experience. Another place to come back to again and again!

This KBBQ spot is a hidden gem. Seriously it's pretty hidden, I missed the turn into this place because it's located next to a merge lane right next to a freeway. They take reservations through their website. This is a spacious restaurant with lots of tables. I didn't notice wait on a Saturday night. I loved that the booths were spacious. At first we were confused why our server wasn't visiting us, but there is a button at each table when you need something. Service was really quick once we realized there's a call button. The ladies here are so friendly. Also plenty of parking here! We did the C menu ($30). Serving sizes here are small, but it helps with not over-ordering and feeling too full at the end. The meat is a lot higher quality than other KBBQ spots I've been to. No frozen meat. Favorites were the beef belly, brisket, and the rib fingers. I wasn't a fan of most of the banchan but the meat quality made up for it! Their grills cook the meat better than the usual steel ones you see, and they don't burn out as quick. This might be my new favorite place to get KBBQ in San Diego, I highly recommend checking it out!

Enjoyed it as always. It had been over 3 years since I'd been back and things have changed! They have upgraded options to included a all-you-can-eat option! There is a $30, $35 and $40 level. The $30 and $40 option per person also includes shrimp along with meat. Not all types of meat are available on these specials, so ask if you care. I didn't try it, but next time we'll take a stab at it. I don't believe booths are available to the all u can eat people also as they screened us upon arrival. But the service quick and friendly and the meat and prawns were tasty.

Delicious! Nice lively place but not too loud. Great food and high quality ingredients. Side dishes were subpar though.

Quality was great but service could use some help. Just understaffed took a while to get our items & ask for a water. But other than that, great atmosphere overall.

Delicious cuts of meat! We came in a Saturday afternoon and got the C menu, the prices have gone up do to Covid which is understandable they had a sign explaining and thanking their costumers for their loyalty which I thought was super thoughtful. Why only four stars and not five? Well we waited ten minutes until the host came up front. The host was also one of two servers so they were understaffed. Waiting ten minutes to get the sides and water after being seated and kept having to ask for the same things over and over again. We pressed the button on the table but no one ever showed up when we used it. Overall the food was great like a good kbbq should be.
