Friends took us to the place, we had no idea what we were in for. Got there and there was problem parking but that was because the restaurant is in the process of expanding its parking lot and structure to accommodate their ever growing patronage. We got in the restaurant and had to wait a few minutes to be seated. Once we were and the food was coming around, then it was an exquisite experience. The food was very well prepared and the staff was great. I would recommend this for a great place to dine.

We had a great dim sum experience!
My husband is a non-pork eater and there were loads of porkless seafood, veggie, and chicken options. Shrimp dumplings delish.
My favorite spot in the world for dim sum is Dynasty Seafood in Vancouver, JS maybe not up to that but this place is a solid local option.
Very tasty Chinese dim sum. I recommend it. Bring your friends so you can get more dishes and variety!!
Best, best Cantonese restaurant in san diego. Love it!!!! The duck it's delicious!!!
My first dim sum experience, it was outstanding. Big place and fairly crowded but very efficient and everything was delicious.
Jasmine Seafood Restaurant has long been the Gold Standard along the Convoy Road "Chinese Restaurant Row", with impeccable Dim Sum food and a great host to numerous San Diego Chinese community events over the years!!!!
Delicious traditional sit down dim sum! You have the lady's in the cart peddling around and serving dishes to your table. My favorite dishes here are the scallop, shrimp with chives, fried shrimp wrapped in wonton and fried crab claw puff.
Also note, there is a paid parking garage that can be utilized if free parking is not available. About $4 for an hour
Great local spot. For the quality of the dim sum with the pricing, I really enjoyed my meal here, and will need to come back and try the other dishes. We ordered an assortment and shared among the group. Service was very friendly and attentive - felt very nolstagic to the small business owned restaurants I grew up going to in Orange County, which includes the interior and design as well. Can’t wait to go back soon! As for the location, Convoy in general gets really busy, but there is paid parking and street parking you can find.
We were down in San Diego to celebrate a birthday with a family relative. What a terrific restaurant. They have an extensive menu with a great choice of foods. The dining area is massive, and they can actually partition off for special family events. They have various sized tables so you can bring a large or small group. If you like Chinese food, you will like the Jasmine Seafood Restaurant.

Great: The food was fresh and the staff worked fast to get people settled at their tables. The carts kept moving along, so it didn't take long for our table to fill up with food. Throughout the lunch the staff kept our teapot and water glasses full.
The owner came by to greet everyone in line and also in the restaurant.
Good: The decorations were great. The line to get in was long, which was surprising. The lion dancers were really cool and even did a parking lot show after they danced inside the restaurant. So many families wanted selfies and it was nice that they obliged. The restaurant brought out food and water for the dancers.
Bad: They didn't have egg tarts. I think they ran out early and it also could be impacted by the current egg prices.
This place becomes my favorite dim sum place in San Diego. So many friends recommended Jasmine Restaurant to us and finally we came to try it out. We came here at Saturday morning around 10:30, it takes 10 minutes for us two to get seated, which is not long at all. Their whole interior looks very classic and authentic. The foods are very authentic too. They push the carts to you and you can pick whatever you want. Their speed is fast so you don’t need to wait long at all to get foods. And their service is really nice as well. I’ll definitely bring family and friends come back here soon.
Came here on a weekday since weekends tend to be very busy. Was seated quickly and the carts came by fast! Was able to get a variety of dishes and also ordered hot tea. Some in our group needed forks which were brought quickly. Overall servers were attentive and food was good. Would come again for dim sum.
3.5 stars. In terms of Dim Sum in San Diego (not comparing to LA), Jasmine has always been one of the better spots. Is there better Dim Sum outside of San Diego? Yes, but realistically you won’t want to drive hours for it. The carts are pushed around like the traditional Dim Sum style here.
Service
- it’s gotten better. Our main waiter was kind and was very courteous with us
- the ladies that push around the carts were friendly
Food
- Not bad but felt a little off. Was more on the bland side
- the Siu Mai had some weird pork filling that got all over the dim sum holder
- the highlight was the chicken feet and the baked custard bun
Environment
- Bustling with many carts pushed around
- decorations were nice with the red covered chairs
A great dim sum place. I would recommend this to anyone. Great service and tasty food. I've had there regular lunch and dinner and it just as good if not better. The orange donut like item in the picture is amazing. A mix of a dinner roll, Krispy cream donut and orange. The pork buns and wonton soup are great as well.
We live in MN so dim sum restaurants are very scarce. So every time we travel to a big city, we make it a point to find a good dim sum spot. We were seated within 10 minutes and even before we settled in our seats the first two carts rolled by with some of our favorites, crab claw balls and shrimp balls. And they just kept coming. The wait staff were friendly and checked on us the right amount of times. Food was delightful and I got my dim sum fix for the vacay. Great food great service! By the time we left there was a huge line out the door. So glad we came at 10:45am and not 12 on a Sunday.
My new favorite dim sum place in San Diego. Staff are very attentive, you get tons of food, and the prices are fair compared to other places in San Diego. I see that some people are complaining about the prices. Its probably because you ordered a lot, or got food from different categories than previous times you’ve gone.
Not all the staff speak english, so be prepared to deal with a little language barrier, but honestly, that’s how you know the food is good.

I'm not sure why it's rated so low, we loved this place and honestly, I rarely give 5-star reviews and yet here I am doing so.
We got to the restaurant early and got in line, not knowing that had we waited and got here after they opened we may have had to wait for a table. The line went around the building, literally around the corner. Parking was super easy for us and I believe they have a garage to house all the extra cars.
Immediately upon sitting down, we had the carts come to the table, we were in heaven! YES, yes Yes...that's was the whole experience. Everything was super clean and the food was delicious.
100% I would go back again.
Delicious fresh dim sum. Went on a Saturday at 10 am and there was plenty of seating. Started to fill up around 10:30. They have some carts moving around at 10 however 10:30ish is when all the carts were flowing. Clean resturant and very attentive staff. Highly recommend if you love dim sum or want to try
