Wow! I got 3 different buns to try and loved them all. Can't think of anything to add to that...wonderful food, cool spot to watch Mission Beach traffic go by. The fried dessert buns were an interesting and delicious take on bao buns that I've never seen before. Highly recommend a stop by here....

Had the char sui bao. I wished the bao would've been perhaps a little thicker, as mine split, so it turned into a legit sandwich. The meat itself was flavorful and the pickled veggies were good to cut the fat but there was a bunch of red cabbage on the side that I wasn't sure what to do with. They would've been great pickled to add even more crunch but they were just raw. It is pricey for the amount.

Staff is very kind and the food came out very fast. The menu is simple with creative fusion quick bites. I highly recommend getting their baos no matter what if you come here

Bao Beach is a good option to grab a small bite/snack. I got the carnitas, karage, bulgogi, and shrimp. My favorite was the bulgogi. Their bao breading is soft and made correctly. Not sure why but the order took a while to come out.

Came here on a random weekday because otherwise we'd never find parking. Tried a bunch of their baos but my favorites have got to be the shrimp and kalbi beef. I've had better baos, but it was pretty good

Food was good but the wait took a long time even though there was barely anyone there. The baos were soft and delicious. Would I come here again? Maybe.

In my opinion, the best Poke Bowl I’ve had in San Diego.

Delicious asian-fusion filled buns. Flavorful, substantial fillings that I enjoyed on a first visit. The quality of the meat and seasoning is right-on, despite the inexpensive price ($4 per bun at the time, the website still has the previous $3 pricing). I'd never had a "bao" before, in this case it's sort of a taco-shell shaped soft-bun. A little messy to eat, and oh so good. Order at the outside window, but there's indoor seating (and sidewalk seating).

Great place for a quick bite. I stopped here one evening after a stroll along Mission Beach and got the Char Siu Bao. Great flavor and pretty inexpensive if you're looking for a quick bite. I'll need to come back for the bulgogi fries people have been talking about at this place though.

Friendly service and good prices for tasty beach food. Tried all the bao and the poke bowls were good as well. The best is the Karaage which is chicken with special sauce. Came back two days in a row it was that awesome!

Good steam buns, great bulgogi fries! Came on a Friday and parking sucks. Had to walk about 5 blocks but it helped work some of the calories off on the walk back to the car. It's mainly street parking but there is one small public beach parking lot I noticed just a couple of blocks down on the same side of the road. It's a walk up window to order with a few indoor tables and a bar looking at the street on the other side. There were also a couple of small tables right on the sidewalk. The girl working the window was super friendly and helpful. You order first and they bring it to you when it's ready. We tried all the steam buns and all were good but the fried chicken and Chinese pork were my favs. The bulgogi fries with fried egg were above average. I'd recommend it if you're in the area.

Chinese BBQ pork bao is hands down the best. The rest of the bao were also good, but did not knock our socks off like the BBQ pork. I will be driving back just for this bun! The spicy edamame was also a tasty treat. Great experience for a quiet Sunday lunch. We had a delicious meal that was worth the drive from La Jolla. Dog friendly location!

I've wanted to try the bao buns because I've had the filled variety elsewhere. I tried two different buns, the Carnitas (braised pork) and the Karaage (Japanese fried chicken) boa buns. They had lots of flavor; I really liked the Carnitas. The Karaage reminded me of the flavor of buffalo chicken. Service was excellent. I'm looking forward to returning and trying some of the other buns.

Pleasantly surprised with both the teriyaki chicken bowl and chur soo bao. Great flavors and excellent price! The bao bites taste like mini churros. Staff is very kind. Highly recommend!

Great bao buns. Super small joint, so if you have a group, order and expect to wait and take your stuff to go and sit on the bay and chill. Really great food in a super casual beach atmosphere
