Visited last night for the first time. We WILL be back! I was expecting a wait, but we were seated right away. The atmosphere was super casual and inviting. They had a couple games going on the tv's and foosball tables. The décor was hip and uncluttered. When we left, there was a guest on the patio with his dog. Dog friendly, bonus! The staff was super friendly and really on top of things. I think every employee in the place, including the manager, came by our table to make sure we were enjoying our meal. I got the half chicken meal and my husband got the brisket sliders from the appetizer menu. Even with splitting all the sides with my husband, we took home enough food for dinner tonight. The chicken was good, very moist, and let me sample the 3 sauces they make. My 22 year old nephew ordered the burger topped with brisket. He devoured the entire meal. I definitely recommend the Frose. It was great!! Now on to the constructive criticism, and seriously, this is pretty minor... The chairs at the tall tables are a little on the low side, so it made me feel a little like I was sitting in a hole. The chicken was literally a half chicken, which was a little difficult to cut up at the table. Next time I'll ask them to butcher it for me before sending it out. The paper straws kept clogging up with the frose. (Seriously, I'm complaining about STRAWS! First world problem, right? But I applaud them for doing the right thing environmentally.) Bottom line: I'm excited to have this great restaurant in the neighborhood! We will for sure be back.

As a vegetarian, and a vegetarian Gluten Free husband, it is difficult to find a good burger. We have found the best veg. burger ever!!! Never had one better! And, the GF bun was excellent. Our waitress was on point, and attentive. We didn't have to look for her once; she was there when we needed her!

Really stoked this place opened in my neighborhood. The service was great for being open for three days. The food was tasty and the cocktails are legit. I will be back many times.

My family loves Pioneer BBQ! Whenever I have a large gathering at my house I always use them for my events! The Brisket is always tender and full of flavor! And the house made Mac and cheese is a must try! Mouthwatering Baked beans I always can count on Pioneer to please even the pickiest of eaters in my house!

What a change. The Cohn Group has shaken this place up for the better. I had the 2 meat plate with brisket and pulled pork. The brisket was a flat cut and a point cut. The flat was lean but still plenty moist and went well with the Texas toast and some of the pickled onion. No sauce and none needed. The point was fatty but not greasy and totally tasty. The Texas toast had been dragged through the beef juices and reminded me of my youth when we'd soak bread in steak juices and broil it. A meal on its own! The sides I got were the brisket baked beans and bacon potato salad. The beans were meaty, sweet, and savory. The potato salad was very bacony and I liked it a lot. Definitely be going back. By the way, they have a very nice bar scene going as well.

Went for happy hour. Frito pie is a Frito nacho with chili and cheese on top. Chicken and waffles were awesome and perfect for an entree. Collard greens are yummy. Great service. Look over your check. We had an extra 20% service charge tacked on that we almost missed. She removed it. This is in addition to the 5% surcharge. Just be careful.

My husband and I have been there twice now, and both times the food and service have been excellent! The brisket just melts in your mouth, and when they have their banana pudding, it’s an absolute MUST! The food certainly fills our stomachs (great portions), but the service fills our hearts. Renee has been our server both times, and she needs a raise. She is so kind, attentive, and downright wonderful. I truly hope Pioneer knows what an amazing person they have representing their restaurant!!!

I ordered from the catering menu that said it fed 8 to 12 people. I also added a side of street corn and 2lbs of the meatloaf. Everyone loved the bbq meats and the side dishes. Highly recommend!

Had a blast at this BBQ joint in San Diego. Sabrina, our server, charmed us with her quick service and knowledge suggesting the Pioneer Fries and Brisket. The foosball table kept the kids busy while us adults guzzled beautifully smooth peach cobblers. Talk about delightful! Violating diet restrictions never felt so rewarding – portions generous, taste tantalizing. So folks seeking warmth, lip-smacking BBQ with live band performances, look nowhere else!

I can’t believe it took me so long to discover this place! The drinks were strong, and the food was phenomenal. We ordered brisket, pulled pork, barbecue chicken, baked beans, coleslaw, three tacos, Texas, toast and mac & cheese, and everything was savory to perfection. Their house made pickles and pickled red onion were out of this world. The Manager even greeted us and brought us some extra pickles because he overheard us talking about how good they were - now that is customer service at its best. Our server was also spectacular. Unfortunately, we were too full to get dessert but I can’t wait to try those as well. We can’t wait to go back and try more food - highly recommend!

Service was definitely 5 stars. Servers and waitresses were really friendly & attentive. Never had to wait for anything, they kept checking in, clearing plates, refilling water, and kept pleasant conversations with us with the right amount of humor. Food was 4 stars all around. No complaints. Banana pudding was delicious. The brisket chili was good too. On this cloudy day, it hit the spot. The cherry dessert tasted like cheesecake. Would come back to try other things. The ambiance and free foosball tables was fun. The price for restaurant week was worth it. They close at 8pm on Sunday which seems kinda early, so be sure to get there earlier as one family got turned away for arriving too late.

OG Mac and cheese, Feast platter for two Brisket, chicken and pulled pork with coleslaw, killer baked beans and bacon potato salad. Food was pretty good, price was decent. We ate until bellies were full and still take some to go boxes. Brisket and pulled pork definitely my favorite. We will for sure recommend and return for more BBQ. Best way to celebrate my anniversary with my beautiful wife.
