An all you can eat asian buffet. The food for the price and area is not bad. If you don't go in expecting to have the best sushi and sashimi than you will be happy. Sometimes the sashimi is amazing but other times not so much so it could be due to the knifes that they use. Any ways I good restaurant for the area!
Update if you go here on your birthday you must be in a group of 4 or more to get a voucher for next time you come in to eat for free.

Its a great all-you-can-eat especially fresh, choice seafood! They have very few items that don't have seafood in them also, 1 chicken and 1 beef teriyaki dish only, so if your allergic to seafood, or just don't like it, then stay away from onami's!
But if you crave Seafoods then have some of the crab and shrimp and mussels and clams and oysters and Sashimi Ceviche baked fish cooked fish and poached fish then onami this is the place to go .

We arrived early and everything was fresh. Fairly reasonable for the price although there are seat time limits. (2 hours)

Love it, there's variety food to choose from, and they are all delicious, there's even a smore bar for you to make your own smore with cookies, which is pretty cool.

Excellent place for asian food buffet. All foods are delicious. Especially my son doesn't like seafood, he also can eat non-seafood such as chicken, beef and others.

Was a good place to visit, lots of good food. Service was Amazing. The Brother that waited on us was on point.

I like the variety of sushi. Food was great. Although a little bit pricey but it's ok and understandble because it's located inside the mall.

I absolutely love this place! The servers are nice, and polite. The food was very tasty and was nice and hot. Their is an amazing Udon and sort of stir fry section, these are amazing fresh options, their sushi is super tasty! It's fresh and I watched them cut the fish right in front of me and made their sushi! I love this place and go there all the time!

My husband and I have been here for both lunch AND dinner. For the extra few dollars we feel like there is a more of variety of food. We are fond of fish eggs, so when we saw a variety, we went nuts.
Do not get me wrong, lunch was really good, but after going this past Friday night before watching A Quiet Place, it certainly helped the night go smoothly. After a long week for my husband and I, some good food was needed.
Food tasted fresh. Food was abundant. No tummy rumbles here.

Food: 🌟🌟🌟🌟
I usually come here for sushi but they have a whole seafood buffet if you're not into sushi. for the price of $22 on the weekend, you can eat all the sushi you want! the fish is always fresh (at least every time I go there) but the other food they offer, I'm not fond of. but I like the fact that they offer a bunch of other things to accommodate everyone. they have crab legs, tempura station where they cook your tempura in front of you and they have a ramen/udon station. their desserts are not that great either but like I said, I only go there for sashimi and my belly is ALWAYS happy
Experience: 🌟🌟🌟🌟
service is fast. you get seated right away since the place is big. I've never had to wait for a long time. sometimes though, they run out of sushi so you have to wait until they replenish it.
Overall: 🌟🌟🌟🌟
I always come to this place because you definitely get what you pay for. they have a big section in the front for parties and they're very accommodating. the sashimi tastes on point all the time and it's not like you have to break the bank to be able to eat here. sucks part though, it is part of the mall so parking is limited.

Food is good for this type of restaurant (Asian seafood buffet). The server was very nice and attentive. Good selection and convenient parking below restaurant. Even on Mother's Day, our wait was not too long and service and food very good.

The restaurant was extremely dirty, the waitress was very slow, the few sushi rolls available where dry and tasteless, the ice cream refrigerator was dripping... It was my favorite seafood restaurant until now. Never coming back.

Onami did it again. The last time my family was there, the staff were rude by rushing us so we could not enjoy our meal. Last night they discriminated against my wife by refusing to give her the military discount. There response was we only give it to active duty and retirees. Please don't forget mikmilitary spouses serve just as much if not more then the active duty. This is discrimination because you excluding classes of people by sex and class group (military wives).

The food was cold and a lot of the items were super chewy , highly priced , and no names on the food ,so I had to keep asking ,what is this , I like to know what I am eating... I guess I'll keep going to Pan Asia they have the same food cheaper price!!

Great place to eat, just need to have lemon's slices for food not just limes

They have expanded their selection from their old place. A few items were kinda bland. But the majority was delish! I also wish they had labels on what the food is. The wait service was very friendly and attentive. I definitely will be going there mpre often now~ :)

Quality of sushi has dropped over the years. Second time in a row where I was not impressed. Last time I will be going there. It's a shame, it used to be very good.

Loved the food, loved the price, my wife was amazed with the crawfish and green tea ice cream. My only concern was wait and organization of reception desk, but look forward to next visit

Recently, my good friend Y celebrated her birthday at Onami Seafood Buffet & BBQ. She and her boyfriend are always on the hunt for good deals for food, and her boyfriend loves all-you-can-eat places! S and I have never been to Onami before, so we were quite curious about what the place would be like.

I've eaten at approximately eight buffets throughout San Diego county and Onami is by far the worst one I've ever been to ANYWHERE! The food was dry and flavorless. The only value here is in the sushi, but even that was just average. If you're thinking of eating at Onami, save the $12.95 pp and go buy yourself a tin of Quaker oats and eat them dry.

FOOD AND PRICE. We went to Onami Restaurant today to celebrate Mother's Day. We were all excited caused we taught, we will have a great food for lunch caused the priced was 32 dollars I think without tax per person. So, for this price you will think you will have good food. I was wrong, food were not good, not enough food selections. Spaces in each table are too near. It is hard to get out from your table caused the chairs were long chairs. You have to ask the person sitting beside you get up so you can get out fom your table. Again,I would like to say the food selection or the quality of food they serve is not at par. I heard from one of my relatives after we ate lunch at Onami that Great
moon restaurant has good food and most of all they have lobster for lunch and it cost them only $15.00 per person. Onami owner(s), even you put a sign to eat all day, who will that long? Probably in about 30 minutes I am done eating and will leave soon. I won't stay there all they just to eat. Please check the quality of your food before charging 32 dollars per person.

So much variety!. Loved the place, I've never had so much variety of California Rolls. They also had Japanese style sashimi and lots of various salads. It was a great experience, the only downside was that there were so many people. But that could have been because it was Saturday. I'm going to try to go on a weekday next time!

Onami sushi mission valley. This is by far the best place to go for sushi if you eat a lot... every time a go to a normal sushi it ends up being around 25 dlls and i dont get full, at onamis its around the same price and i eat a lot, they can make you handrolls at dinner, they also have baked lobster tails which are amazing, and king crab legs... the quality of the sushi is excellent, they have a very good dessert section with tiramisu, grilled bananas and with the creamiest green tea ice cream. i totally recommend this place

The sea food was fresh and the sushi was nice!

Good and good for kids. One wonders how an all-you-can-eat sushi buffet can stay in business. I think they do it because it is so family friendly and so all the aunties and grandmas come. There are always loads of kids and kids get a lower price. My kids love it. The sushi is good and there are many other things to try; carpaccio, smoked salmon, ribs, soup and a whole buffet of salads, dessert and fresh fruit.

This is the place to go with the crew and crabby babies after a day at the zoo or Balboa park. They will throw a plastic sheet under the high chair and baby can pig out on noodles alfredo and little pieces of yellowtail.

First time here and the food is great. Lots of variety

When I found out that Onami had recently moved to a new, bigger location (still within Mission Valley mall), and renamed themselves Tora, it seemed like a perfect opportunity to try it out. When we arrived, the place was really busy. Luckily we were able to make a reservation so we didn’t need to wait around. Overall, we were really disappointed. On a positive note, our server was great. He was constantly refilling our waters and clearing our plates. I’m sad about the new Tora. We had such high hopes going in.
