Literally the best breakfast burrito of my life. The place feels cozy and authentic, while maintaining excellent food, service, and cleanliness. I got the beef breakfast burrito. It has some serious heft and the big hot sauce bottles are delicious and an awesome touch. You will not leave hungry.
A lot of my favorite burrito spots in SD have increased costs while the quality of the food has declined. I'm happy that this place is still REASONABLE and tastes FRESH and delicious every time. We always get their chicken soup and veggie burritos (add French fries!). SO GOOD.
Had a craving a for carnitas. Found this place by chance and was treated to the best carnitas tacos I've had in a while. Very nice and hospitable service. Bobby, the owner, clearly takes care of his customers. Highly recommend.
You can just taste the love in their food and salsas sooo much flavor! Will be back for a second dose of them carne asada fries. Beats Lolita’s any day! Oh and the owners are so friendly! 🥰🥰 (Got 1/2 carne asada fries)
This place is the best. Although parking can be tough some times. If you have chance to get food here you'll find it's amazing. So many choices all one of a kind. Plus the service is the best. This place is very unassuming from the outside and is in a kind of dumpy part of town. That being said the moment you walk in you realize that you're in a place that cares. There are plenty of churn and burn taco shops in San Diego that lack heart and soul, Rays is not one of them.
Ray was AMAZING and so friendly!!! The burritos are to die for and the paintings on the wall are so cool and trippy. LOVE Ray’s!!!!!
One of the best authentic Mexican places! We catered a luncheon at our office and everyone LOVED Ray's. This was our first time ordering from them, and most certainly NOT the last.

Mexican art-cafe, with fresh tasty food, beautiful atmosphere, and very nice friendly owner. He makes you feel like a special guest at his restaurant. Absolutely recommend!

I went into Ray’s for a late dinner. The owner was there and was incredibly personable. He spoke to me about how they have been around for 22 years and his Chef’s have been with him almost that long as well! I could tell her really cared about the business and was very genuine.
