Probably one of the best Prime Ribs I’ve had, and I’m old haha! And the salad and the worshire pudding or so it’s called ( I’m from Texas) was Devine with three different kinds of horseradish sauces. Sat at the bar and had a great time! Highly recommend!

My daughter had setup a belated birthday dinner for my husband and I. I had never eaten here before but I give it 5 stars for their table service, their prime rib cooked to perfection as well walking away afterwards with a satisfied and full belly! We will be back! Great restaurant!

Amazing beef! We ordered the extra thick version (King Henry), and it was soft and juicy! Since it’s American servings, the portion size was HUGE! King Henry was definitely way too big for 1 person. It cost $65.85 each. They do charge $10 for the person who is sharing. I think this charge is reasonable because it comes with 2 side dishes as well. Our server was also very friendly and experienced. The place was fully packed when we came on a weekday dinner. It seems to be popular among families as well. Overall, we love our experience here. Highly recommend this place.

I came here with a group of 4 people and we had dinner reservations at 4:30PM, which is right when they open. When we first walked inside, we noticed everyone was standing around waiting to be seated. The hostess and the server were super organized when they checked us in. We notice that the teamwork between the staff was impeccable as the they had servers waiting on standby as the hostess tells them where to seat the customers. It was very organized! We got seated within 10 minutes upon arrival and was given the menu to order. This was my first time here and I was so excited to try it since I’ve heard really good reviews about this spot and it was really hard to make reservations. On the menu, there are 5 choices of prime rib to get: The City Cut, House of Prime Rib Cut, the English Cut, King Henry VIII Cut, and the Children’s Prime Rib Dinner. If you don’t want too much prime rib, the City Cut is recommended since it’s a smaller portion. The House of Prime Rib Cut is thicker while the English Cut is a thinner cut. The King Henry VIII cut is the biggest cut so that one is recommended for those with a big appetite. Out of all of those options, I opted for the House of Prime Rib Cut since I like my cut a bit thicker. The cut did not disappoint! The prime rib was super tender and very juicy! Each prime rib order also comes with salad and two sides. For the two sides, I got the Creamy Spinach and Mashed Potatoes which pairs really well with the prime rib. This spot really does live up to its name!

House of Prime Rib - what a delicious SF experience you must try!! They have different sized cut depending on how hungry you are and want to tackle. If you finish your entire cut, feel free to ask your server if you can receive a free cut on the house - we succeeded in getting an extra one! The entree course comes with horseradish dressing (different levels of spiciness and strength), salad, Yorkshire pudding, and sides such as corn, spinach, mashed, or baked potatoes. Really great drinks here as well - including the port (for dessert). From friends, we hear it’s best recommended to get a table reservation well in advance. Apparently this restaurant is booked out on weekends and holiday weekends so be sure to snag a reservation early on if you’re visiting on a special occasion. There is also valet parking service here as well. Staff was friendly and personable. While the restaurant states they close at 10 PM, we were hesitant to get dessert, not wanting to keep everyone later but our server generously soothed our stress and explained this is an experience to remember - and indeed it was!

First time trying house of prime rib and let me tell you the wait is worth it! All the meat is fresh, juicy and well seasoned! They cut it right in front of you and the sides are amazing! I got mashed potatoes and spinach! The place is big but gets filled up quickly!

Came to San Francisco for vacation and was lucky enough to get a reservation here. The prime rib was very soft and tender. Sides were also very good. We especially liked the creamed spinach and corn. Service and atmosphere of the restaurant was also very lively and friendly. It was a great experience.

Been here thrice, the steak has been consistently great, the sides and salad always delicious, and the service impeccable. What surprised me was that their desserts (strawberry cheesecake and tiramisu) were really good as well! Best steak house I've been to (so far)!

*** Make sure you make reservations well in advance (24 hours or more.) Made same day reservations and we couldn’t get anything before 10pm! But it was a birthday weekend and our last day in town. We were not disappointed, made the best of the day site seeing more than we had planned before heading back home to the central coast. Worked up an appetite all day. The meat cuts were amazing and full of flavor. The service, once we got there, was fast, efficient and it was a nice 2 hour drive home will a happy full belly. So glad I came here.

You'll definitely need to make a reservation. Otherwise, you can try to get the bar seating if it's a group of 2-3 people. My friends and I had a reservation on a weekday, and the restaurant was packed. Their menu is very simple. You pick your choice of the cut of the meat. Regardless of the cut of the meat, you'll get a bunch of accompaniments - yorkshire pudding, salad, choice between mashed potatoes or baked potatoes, choice between creamed spinach, or creamed corn. The salad bowl is prepared fresh in front of you if you are seated at the table (not at the bar). Their salad dressing is really good. I'm not a salad person, but I finished this one. The mashed potatoes were creamy and had a velvety texture and smooth consistency. Creamed corn was delicious as well. I tried their English cut option for the meat. It was sliced in thin pieces. The meat was juicy and tender. The meat portion was very generous, and I struggled to finish the meat in the first round itself. You can also get a second round of meat free of charge if you are still hungry. Please note that the portion size for your second serving is usually smaller than the first serving. I personally couldn't even finish the first serving. Our server was super nice and attentive. She definitely helped us in making some decisions by sharing her personal favorite menu items. The restaurant boasts English-style dining rooms with fireplaces and cozy leather banquettes, making it as intimate as it is iconic. Though I must add, all the tables are placed pretty close to each other so it can be very loud. Overall, it was a great dining experience.

Solid place for a very filling dinner. You pick your choice of prime rib and are served a bunch of complementary sides. The salad and Yorkshire pudding don’t come with adjustments but you have a choice between mashed or baked potato and creamed spinach or corn. My preference was the baked potatoes and the corn but honestly don’t fill up on the sides so you can get free seconds on the main if you finish! The portion sizes of the meat has gone down compared to previous years but overall still good. Great service and vibes here as well.

Everything about the experience at House of Prime Rib is deserving of five stars. Absolutely plan make reservations, potentially months in advance, as it is always at capacity. It’s for good reason, as the cuts, no matter what option, is of the highest quality. Per their website, House of Prime Rib only serves the top 2% of beef available. They take pride in their aging, carving, and roasting process, which results in the best steak I’ve had. The sides are also delicious, there is a great selection of drinks and desserts. Not to mention the service, atmosphere, and decor of the restaurant reminded me of a classic English Steakhouse. I recommend/chose the English Cut, with side of creamed spinach, baked potato, and a classic Vodka Martini. There is an option to bring your own wine for a corking fee.
