We had a great night celebrating a birthday. Waterbar offers an incredible view of the Bay Bridge, but the food easily tops the view. All the food and wine was amazing. I especially enjoyed the Spinach Cannelloni with clams... amazing... not one to miss! The dessert menu is incredibly innovative. The Sweet Carrot Panna Cotta is a great choice, particularly if you enjoy a more savory dessert with natural sweetness (great alternative to cheese). I am not big on chocolate, but truly enjoyed every bite of the German Chocolate Cheesecake. This was topped with dehydrated goat cheese, which I thought was a gimmick but realized that it offered a nice subtle taste that created balance. And the Sticky Toffee Pudding was amazing, especially if you are looking for a rich dessert. The maple caramel is infused throughout the cake and the vanilla bean mascarpone is a great topper.
The key to a great restaurant is innovative food, and Waterbar is tops on my list for any occasion.
Our first time in this restaurant for our Anniversary. The place is amazing with unbeatable view and the food is nothing short of fantastic!! Our waiter is the best with great humor! Easing the way us to order our perfect dinner!! We’ll certainly going to be back❣️I highly recommend this place!!
My husband and I enjoyed the best seafood we’ve eaten in a long time, plus gorgeous views and impeccable service. Oysters, clams, crab and squid were all fresh and flavorful. The wine list pairs nicely with the menu, and the views of the bay and the Bay Bridge are spectacular. The interior views are pleasing as well - “column” aquaria, brick, metal and colored glass all combine for a stylish yet warm ambience. If I lived in San Francisco I would be a happy regular here!
The service was beyond outstanding and the food was incredible. My server recommended a wine and suggested I have his favorite dessert. Both were amazing!! The view from my patio table was phenomal and put the finishing touch on this wonderful experience. Wish I lived closer so I could go there often.
My wife and I enjoyed an absolutely perfect dining experience at Waterbar. It is beautiful inside and out, the service was unrushed and relaxing and the food and wine were delicious. Everything on the menu looked so good that we decided to go the multiple appetizers and small plates route so that we could sample a nice selection. The server said that was the best way to go and that we did not have to order them all at one time. He suggested ordering a few and then, after we decided how hungry we still were, order whatever else we wanted after that. Again, everything we tasted was delicious! Go and enjoy!
Delicious, gorgeous, artistic and the best view ever. Great staff. I love this place.

Great food and awesome service... And the view is spectacular... I’ll surely commend this place and come back..
Great service, food perfect and nice variety to choose from. Sat outside on patio with awesome views of the bridge and water front.
What an amazing night, everything was perfect, ambiance, view on the bridge, service was absolutely perfect, all the wine available for a lot of taste, I Definitely come back here if I visit San Francisco again
How could you not love being right on the water in front of the bridge? Then the food ... it’s a foodie place. The squid was perfectly cooke with delicate little accompaniments. It will be my go to stop in San Francisco!
A lovely stroll on the waterfront to get to Water Bar-professional staff- delicious shrimp- oysters- and green fried tomatoeswith an array of craft cocktails to wet the palate.
Gorgeous restaurant with stunning views inside and out! The floor to ceiling glass windows provide the perfect view of the Bay Bridge. Inside, there's beautiful vertical aquariums.
Food is tasty, there just isn't a wide array of options. Still, this is definitely a "must go" restaurant.
Service is top notch.
Would be great for a date night, or even a business dinner.
Beautiful decoration and delicious food with the view of the Bay Bridge. Has the shrimp, scallops and bread pudding for dessert and it was all delicious. Waitstaff was friendly and attentive. A little on the pricey side if that’s what you’re looking for. Would def come back here again. Oh and delicious oysters!
Went to have a nice evening with friends last weekend. We were able to get a table on the patio, and had the most gorgeous view of the sunset with the Bay Bridge.
The food was fantastic. Everything we ordered was lovely. I had the stone fruit salad and the oven roasted Alaskan halibut. Both were fantastic choices! We also had bread for the table, which was very tasty. When we got our checks, we were treated to little cheesecake bites, and I immediately wished I had 10 more. I will go back specifically to order that cheesecake.
Service was excellent, the waiters were friendly and responsive. We always had drinks, and the food came quickly.
Solo dining experience. It was tremendous. I sat next to one of the grandiose fish tanks with a sleeping fish. Super cool.
The servers were so kind and helpful. The butternut squash rofolo was probably the most spectacular dish. I couldn’t believe it was squash. I couldn’t decide on a wine w my meal so the server suggested a flight. It was perfect.
I had an app, main, dessert and flight for $120 before tip. Well worth it!
What a fantastic place for a romantic dinner! We visited for our anniversary and their attention to detail, service and the food were all outstanding! Jameson and the entire team of five people did a great job! Everyone from the greeters on wished us a happy anniversary. The seared scallops app was to die for and the selections of wines were as expected, outstanding! Afterwards, a walk along the water with stunning views of the bridge. Highly recommended! We will definitely be back. Thanks all for a remarkable experience! Enjoy! 🤙🏻
Had a great dinner date with the better half.
Reserved an inside table, but was a little bit disappointed that we didn't get to sit next to the cool aquariums.
All was forgiven when we had the food, though!
Started with scrumptious lobster bisque with a side of warm bread. The bisque had generous hunks of lobster and was topped with a creme fraiche that helped to mellow out the shellfish flavor. It was a tad strong on salt but that just made it go well with the sourdough bread.
Next was a scallop dish. Blast of flavor from the bacon (?) bits, finished with a slightly acidic sauce to bring the mouthful to a completion. Served with tiny carrots which helped provide additional texture and some sweetness.
Our main was the oak fired shellfish fettucine for two. It was quite a generous serving of fresh, sustainably farmed shellfish, which was nice (I appreciated the shrimp in particular), but the hero of the dish truly was the pasta. An immaculate sauce on glutinous fettucine.... topped with chives (I think?) which really rounded out the flavor with a punch of freshness that made us go through the plate like a tornado through Kansas. It was a big portion but I'm pretty sure I could have eaten another bowl of the pasta.
Despite the business of a Christmas season dinner, the servers were friendly and attentive -- quick to help with water, cleaning crumbs from the table, or providing clean silverware between dishes.
All in all, Waterbar was a great experience that I'd like to repeat in the future.
Waterbar has some of the best views in SF. Located on the Embarcadero, it’s a premier spot for checking out the Bay. The food is very good and matches the view.
We’ve had multiple business lunches and a work Xmas party here and each time service was excellent. Our favorite things to eat here are anything with Crab and the Lobster Rolls.
Use the valet service if you don’t want to drive around forever or pay in a nearby lot. Come for the views and seafood.
Excellent staff that went out of their way for us without asking. They heard it was our anniversary and gave us a complimentary glass of champagne and a dessert plate.
The food and atmosphere are off the charts. The dishes are delicious and presented beautifully. The outdoor seating is near the water, so you have great views. We also had a fantastic half bottle of Pinot Noir. Would highly, highly recommend this restaurant.
Fabulous ambience, great food and awesome service.. had the coffee crusted salmon as an entree and roasted cauliflower with blue cheese as a side.
Also, enjoyed the negroni here.
Service was impeccable and the water front views made the atmosphere very enjoyable too.
Would definitely like to visit again
Beautiful restaurant and bar right on the water. They had a large dining space with heaters out on the patio and it looked beautiful. We sat inside because you have to order a full meal to sit on the patio and we only came for wine. Our server and sommelier were great! Made the whole experience even better.
