Hands down my favorite spot to eat and drink in San Francisco. It really does have it all. Beautiful and spacious bar, sports on several TVs, piped in music, fireplace (my favorite spot is the table to the right of it), lots of windows for natural light and people watching, reasonable prices, multiple dining rooms (including dining counter in the back), friendly hostesses, nostalgic photos, attentive service from tuxedo clad waiters, reasonable prices, and excellent old school Italian American food. My favorites are eggplant parm, clams with linguini, and caprese salad. Good raviolis too. My wife loves the spaghetti meat sauce. Come as you are. It's great for date night, special event celebrations, or a casual bite with friends. I love sitting in the bar, catching a game. They pour an honest drink, serve the full menu there, and it's great watching the ebb and flow of the crowd. I love that place.

A San Francisco icon that never disappoints!! Our server, Heather did an amazing job-including ours, she was sat 5 tables in about 3 minutes. She did a stellar job getting to all her guests without missing a beat! The crab cocktail was so fresh and tasty with a generous portion of crab meat and Leg sections. The antipasto platter was also amazing-several varieties of meats, cheeses, olives, etc... If you’re in the North Beach area, this is a must do culinary treat!!

Original Joe’s was referred to us by an Italian gentleman we met in a beautiful shop in Chinatown. He certainly was right! We loved that the restaurant is historical, going back to 1937. Although it has obviously been updated, you can still see the original old restaurant and can imagine all of the interesting people and delicious dinners that have been shared in this great restaurant. My friend had the spaghetti and meatballs, which he absolutely loved, with a delicious hearty flavor and the pasta perfectly cooked. I had the fillet of sole piccata with a side of sautéed spinach in garlic and olive oil and also a side of fettuccine Alfredo. The sole was so absolutely delicate in texture and flavor and so moist. The two sides were perfect. I have to recommend this wonderful restaurant to anybody who is in San Francisco. The service was excellent and friendly and the prices were fair considering the quality. It is very popular so I would highly recommend reservations.

Joe’s did not disappoint. From the ministroni soup, to the handmade ravioli every bite was full of flavor. The final course, their tiramisu was well worth the wait.

Great food! Fantastic meatball sandwich! Really good mussels in a great wine sauce and delicious ravioli. Great service at the bar. I am only here visiting and I am very sorry that I won’t be able to go back there and dine again.

Simply one of the best in the Bay Area. Old world charm combined with some of the best food anywhere in the US. Very friendly staff made us really feel appreciated.

The service was friendly and experienced, some of the staff have been there for years and it's nice to see that in San Francisco, especially nowadays when everything around town is changing so fast. The food was great, I had the prime rib and it was excellent! My wife had the prime rib dip and she said it was the best she ever had. We had two drinks and I love it when they are not water down. Our dinner was less then $100 and for fine dining in San Francisco with two drinks it's rare. 5 stars for us!!

So good. The lasagna was delicious but the ravioli was the best thing we had. Fabulous. I also really love how the Caeser salad was presented. Excellent start to finish.

Visiting from Texas, the food was awesome, the best shrimp scampi I’ve ever had! Grace our waitress wasn’t to gracious Being a POS Implementation Specialists, I believe she became overwhelmed with splitting a check. I suggest more training on the POS. Management can please not have Grace work her birthday next year .Grace the $ tip should make you recognize that you work for the customer. I hope things get better for you.

Huge crowd, high season, and they still accommodated us. Fifty minute wait was fun in the bar with great cocktails. They seated us far sooner than they planned. Indoor and outdoor seating. Call ahead, get a reservation. Very loud. Not easy for hearing impaired. Very dark interior. Use caution with elderly. Fast service despite heavy volume. Bathrooms consistently cleaned. Great service. Delicious food. Comfortable, relaxed experience. One feels they are in the hands of professionals. Parking a challenge. Plan ahead of use the nearby buses, taxi or ride share. Bikes probably a good idea too. Gluten free accommodated. Waiter was a magician keeping the water flowing. It was greatly appreciated. Plates were removed promptly. Families of all ages were accommodated.

Celebrated my Dads birthday here and we all loved it! Roomy seating, friendly and attentive and relatively fast service, and delicious food. I enjoyed every order but my faves were the spinach dip appetizer, short rib ragu, and the butter cake! They brought one out unexpectedly for my Dads birthday and wow, it was one of the best cakes I’ve had. Thanks for a great dining experience I will certainly come back. Personally I ordered the cod (not pictured) - thought the lemon taste and amount of egg wash was a bit overpowering but it was still good.

Just wow! Such good food, drinks and service! A wonderful evening, except it’s a little loud. But that was fine because everyone was having a delicious meal and was in good spirits. We will definitely return.

We have been two times there, atmosphere is great, quality food, great service. Overall is one of the nicest Italian restaurants in San Francisco. Try the Lasagne, fried calamari, spaghetti.

I had the best experience here. Sat at the counter which was very lively. Enjoyed seeing the chefs prepare each dish while I enjoyed the delicious bread. The vodka rigatoni was excellent and the drinks were perfect. To top it all off dessert was the perfect finale. Great service, food, and ambiance.

We had one of the best experiences of dining at this place in SF a few weeks back. It was my daughter's birthday treat and they made sure it was a good one. The food is delicious Italian and continental fare. We also got a surprise mini celebration cake to top it all. Service is excellent, friendly, and attentive always. Worth the experience!

A wonderful lunch in North Beach/Little Italy. Original Joe's is a huge place with dim lighting, comfy booths, and cheerful service, and the food is hearty, cosy, and tasty, just like the ambience promises! We had the crab burger and Joe's special, which was a hash of eggs, mince, mushroom and spinach - totally unique and extremely wholesome... this generous portion will leave you full for hours! The brioche bun with the crab burger was also delicious, as were the chips, but we were too full to do justice to the entire, large meal. The coffee is also very good - the double espressos pack a punch and helped us finish up what was a very fun lunch.

I used to live in San Francisco and even when I was little I remember coming here. I remember the plates with their logo Original Joe’s in red and they still have the same plates now. 👍🏽 It has now moved, but the quality of the food is still undeniably delicious. If you want the best meats 🥩, Original Joe’s is the spot. The bone-in rib eye is one of the best I’ve tasted. Amazingly tender and the flavors were locked in melt in your mouth greatness!! Leave room for dessert for the best house made tiramisu money can buy!! Six stars for taste and consistency. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Probably the best dinner I’ve ever had!!! Chicken parm cooked to perfection, crispy not soggy and very flavorful. A huge and very satisfying dinner. Spaghetti with perfect sauce and the right amount of cheese. And afterwords the amazingly delicious butter cake that we ate before I got a chance to take a picture. This is by far the best restaurant in San Francisco that I’ve have been to so far. Definitely a bit on the pricier side if your coming from out of town, but for San Francisco standards especially with the huge portions it’s definitely worth it eating here. Our waiter named Angel was an absolute delight, some of the best service I’ve ever received at a restaurant, very accommodating, gave us genuine and honest opinions on the food and was kind to us the entire time, never felt rushed. I would recommend getting a reservation. If you are in San Francisco DEFINITELY Don’t miss coming here!
