Loved this place! Traditional Roman menu, great wine list and the nicest warmest staff! I felt as though I'd traveled to Italy for a few hours. I'll be back

The service and food make this a special place. Hidden off the street in the Mint Plaza, an added bonus is getting to see the now empty "Granite Lady" that used to house the Mint. The octopus appetizer was as amazing as our server described and you can never go wrong with fresh olives. The red snapper was the fresh fish and it was done perfectly. My dining companion had the fresh pasta of the day which was light and tasty. We had no room left for dessert but the tiramisu looked amazing as well as the panna cotta.

We had a fabulous dinner. I brought a 2012 Duckhorn Cab and the waiter recommended food that would be best with the wine- soooo good! And our wine corkage fee was waived since it was my birthday!

Server let us in for a meal at 2:15 when they were supposed to close at 2:30 to prep for their 5:30 dinner service . Food was exceptional in every way and service was delightful . Can't wait to go again!

Ate dinner here tonight at the recommendation of the concierge at the Clift. Superb service and great food. The best part was dessert where I tried the Pannacotta with a small amount of Balsamic vinegar drizzled across the top. This has to be one of the best desserts I have had in some time

Decent Italian restaurant sitting at a corner of square. We didn’t have a reservation, so got seated at the bar. Got prosciutto and Buffalo mozzarella, and bread basket for appetizer. Both pretty good. Wish the mozzarella was a bit more. The olive oil that came with the breadbasket was quite good. Had the carbonara for main. Very rich pasta (almost a little too rich), nice thick pork pieces, and pasta cooked to just right. Overall decent place, may come back if I’m in the area again.

I recently discovered a new Italian restaurant that specializes in serving authentic and exquisite Italian cuisine. The overall dining experience was delightful, although I felt that some dishes were missing the perfect blend of herbs and spices. There was a noticeable reliance on salt throughout the menu, resulting in a somewhat repetitive flavor profile. The veal cooked in a special sauce leaned towards being too salty for my taste. The fried rice croquettes with cheese were a bit on the bland side and didn't quite meet my expectations. However, I must highlight the outstanding squid ink pasta with homemade tomato sauce, which was truly a culinary delight. Another noteworthy dish was the pasta with meticulously cooked small pieces of pork belly, perfectly balanced in terms of saltiness. The grilled lamb chops were a revelation, cooked to perfection and bursting with delectable flavors. The grilled trout was equally impressive, effortlessly flaking apart as soon as you lifted it. Accompanied by creamy mashed potatoes, the combination was simply divine. The restaurant offered an impressive selection of wines that paired wonderfully with the food. All things considered, I highly recommend visiting this establishment for an exceptional Italian dining experience, despite minor observations regarding seasoning and flavor.

Since we were a group of 10, we got Prix Fixe menu including dessert. Amazing food with great quality and quantity, not a wine connoisseur but loved their red wine. Would definitely come back again. Highly recommended.

Really great Italian spot. For appetizers we tried the bufalo and prosciutto. Excellent bufalo! The ribeye was one of the better ribeyes I’ve ever tried. The carbonara was good but pretty typical. The favorite was the short rib. For dessert we got both the panna cotta and the flourless chocolate cake. The panna cotta is well worth buying. The chocolate cake was truly disappointing. It was tasteless and seemed not just flourless but sugar-less and chocolate-less. Great service though.

Food was tasty and authentic. The ambience inside is cozy. Get a table downstairs in their cellar for most cozy. Price was surprisingly not crazy expensive.

We started with the Saltimbocco. Veal cutlets with prosciutto in a white wine sauce. The veal was tender. The prosciutto made it nicely chewy. It was a bit salty, which wasn’t surprising with prosciutto, and very tasty. We had Halibut in black lentils with broccolini. The halibut portion was on the large side. It was a seasoned slightly crispy on the bottom but tender and flaky. The broccolini was great in this bowl. I wished for more of it and less lentils. The dish was a bit salty but quite good. We also had the Fettuccine with oyster and crimini mushrooms. It also had Calabrian chili, unfortunately used minimally, and topped with a reggiano cheese. The pasta was made and cooked to perfection and the mushrooms were delicious and tender. It was the same white wine sauce as the appetizer but tasted less salty. Delicious and filling. We finished with the flourless chocolate cake. It lacked good chocolate flavor. Several good wine choices by the glass. Prices seemed a bit high for a 6 oz pour. The environment was comfortable if not a bit chilly inside. For some reason the hostess kept the front door open. Nighttime ambiance is nice with neat little lamps at each table.

Oxtail was great with a sizeable portion. The meat was tender, yet not crumbling in texture. Sauce was just acidic enough with a nice touch of pine nuts. Carbonara was better than most places too, though was a bit creamy. Atmosphere was not overly loud and good for conversations

I dined here after attending the fluers de villes show next door at the Mint building and the food, service, and atmosphere were all amazing. There weren’t a lot of other diners there which was a shame. The passion fruit Bellini was amazing! I also really loved the beet salad and arancini.

This Italian restaurant exceeded all my expectations. The service was impeccable, and the staff was extremely knowledgeable about the menu, helping us select the perfect dishes. The food was nothing short of a culinary masterpiece; the flavors and presentation were outstanding. The ambiance was perfect for a quiet dinner with friends - cozy and inviting, with the soft glow of candlelight. I can't wait to return and savor more of their exquisite offerings.

We had a lovely time at 54 Mint. We were looking for a pre-show dinner before heading to the Orphium Theater, and this place was perfect! Great food, attentive and knowledgeable staff. If we lived in the area, we'd definitely go back!

I think I'll have some celebratory Ravioli at the 54 Mint Ristorante Italiano because I just scored a vintage Stacker Hangwoggler from a craigslist seller that called himself Kid Kool. I asked him why he's selling it, and he said he needed to part with it so he could buy a gold chain for his neck. I told him his friends are going to steal it from him, and he was okay with it as long as he knew where it was. Who doesn't love Ravioli, especially when it has the deep richness of a perfectly cooked bolognese sauce with Italian sausage and a hint of fresh fennel...WOW! ☆☆☆☆☆ 54 Mint Ristorante Italiano is the place for me when I just have to have perfect Ravioli.

Love this place and so glad it’s still around. While great for pre-theater, I’d recommend this restaurant for any special occasion. The food is finely crafted Italian, the tables are nicely spread out, upstairs is elegant and downstairs seating is “cool”. The wine list is unique and very Italian which is hard to find in a city that rightfully celebrates California wines. Service is attentive and a throwback to time when customer service meant something. They also occasionally have a prix fix menu that is a relatively great value.

Great Italian restaurant! I ate at the bar and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The bartender obviously cared about his craft. I had a cucumber juice based mocktail that was refreshing and delicious. For my meal, I had some croquettes filled with molten smoked mozzarella that was delicious. And my gnocchi main with beef ragu was delicious. I wish I had room for dessert. I would definitely recommend it.

I ordered a couple of things. The octopus appetizer and the long noodles with tomato sauce. The octopus was great but I didn't like it mixed with the potatoes because they were cold. I felt as though the whole dish should have been hot. The tomato pasta was excellent. Very simple but delicious. I really like the flavor of the tomato sauce and the quality of their noodle. Very nice wait staff!

The best of the best, we flew from Cabo to eat the steak again and the Risotto with truffle is the best in the world, it made me remember the taste of the dish that we enjoyed in Siena Italy, the attention is incredible. Tania is a super hostess, 1000 thanks and Carlos took excellent care of us. It is our second time in this restaurant because the food and the Risotto was the best for us. They make us feel very comfortable and loved… thank you very much guys!!

Decided to take my boo on nice date in the city and needed to find a nice restaurant to indulge in. I’m happy we found this place, the food is very authentic. The pasta was amazing and the drinks hit the spot. It is a bit pricey but no complaints here. Roberto did an amazing job serving us and was informative wink wink. I definitely recommend you check this place out, it’s a 5 minute walk from Bart.

The basement dining area is definitely rustic, but lighting is subtly good. Food and service are excellent. Servers asked about theatre performances, abd our dishes came out on good time.
