There is nothing like a sister, I know, I have three of them, and five sister-in-laws. So when my all-time favorite restaurant, Boulevard’s “sister” restaurant opened I was one of the first through the door. It has gone through some growing pains over the last couple of years since its inception, but it has fully matured to be the little sister that gets noticed. This is apparent as you walk down Folsom Street and are struck by the sensuous display of back lit stone vases enticing one into the bar to explore their upbeat specialty cocktails. Sometimes we just meet friends for tasting treats at the large wood communal table between the bar and the dining room, and have never been disappointed, they make even Deviled Eggs a delicacy. Pamela Mazzola’s signature style is all over the new menu, which changes all the time, so your favorite item most likely won’t be there next time, but you will find something you’ll like equally as well. Recently we had the Monterey Bay Abalone, something I don’t see often enough on menus, it was cooked perfectly and accented with a hint of chili for a little surprise. Bavette is one of my favorite cuts of meat, and they prepare it in a classic way with all the comfort food fixings. I always make sure to leave room for dessert, it’s hard to choose just one to split with my hubby, last time we had the Sticky Toffee Pudding, and luckily he let me eat most of it. I have yet to have tried them for lunch, will soon though, and I noticed they have a “Grab & Go” Sandwich menu, which should give those gourmet food trucks a run for their money. Prospect has a younger crowd and vibe than its “older sister”, but I like it when I’m looking for a more contemporary dining experience, the wait staff are casual yet attentive, and I like how the oversize pieces of original art changes from time to time, displayed on their expansive sized museum walls. P.S. Don’t forget to try their flavored popcorns, but watch out, they are addicting.

I really enjoyed Prospect last night. I went for a work/dinner program, we didn't have the private room so it was a little difficult to listen to our meeting. Great food! Great service! Our server was fantastic. I can't recall her name but she was very cool! Cocktails were well made. I had their braised octopus and the NY steak which is amazingly tasty! Its served with quinoa mashed potatoes which was just eh. I didn't have desert. Next time! I liked how all the servers were dressed. Good place Prospect! Thank you for a great dinner experience.

My wife and I came here before the Queen concert from her coworker’s recommendation. This place was amazing from beginning to end! We had the Parisian Gnocchi, Cauliflower Risotto, and the Halibut Ceviche. All three were amazingly delicious!

Prospect offers a fine dining experience. 5 stars for ambiance 5 stars for food 5 stars for service I went to Prospect to celebrate a birthday at Prospect. What a great choice! The interior is lovely wood with modern clean lines. It felt spacious. In the main room there is a wall with velvet, a nice soothing pale green with floral patterns on it. When my party arrived, we were quickly seated in a booth. Spacious seating for our small group. The wait staff appeared promptly in case we wanted to order cocktails. There is a fine wine menu but I opted to get a non-alcoholic drink: the Prospect Cooler, a mix of juice and syrups. Very light but refreshing. The food menu has a good variety in case you feel like a light bite, want to share plates or want a full meal. There are vegetarian bites as well as one veggie focus d entree. I liked the variety of choices for the main because if I wanted vegetable risotto or a steak they were both options. My scallop starter with small curls of calamari in a seafood and butter sauce was Delicious! For the group, we ordered the Hokkaido Milk bread with furoshike butter…like Hawaiian bread (a brioche) but a smooth milk taste. We all chose the Heritage Pork Chop (a winner) which had fried okra, slices of grilled apricot, potato cake and pickled greens. The pork was tender and juicy. A combination that evoked a savvy chef’s Southern dish. For dessert, we had the light pineapple upside down cake with coconut ice cream. Great finish. The kitchen even placed a birthday candle on the plate. Overall, I was impressed with Prospect restaurant; a surprise treat which I plan to return to again and again!

A small menu but everything was done very well. The menu lacks a certain narrative that makes this a good restaurant but not quite great. The service was fantastic and the space was comfortable and although open plan surprisingly intimate. An uncontroversial choice for upper scale dining.

My hubby and I came here for dinner on NYE before our speakeasy yacht cruise and it was our first time trying this restaurant. I really like the atmosphere and the service was phenomenal. The food was pretty good and the cappuccino was amazing! Great experience overall.

After years of living nearby, I finally visited Prospect for dinner with a friend... and I was glad I did! From start to finish, we had an excellent dining experience here. Reservations: It was easy for her to make a reservation online, and we were seated almost immediately after arriving. Granted, we were there for an early dinner since both of us had things to do later in the evening, but still... Ambiance: It got quite busy as "typical" dinner hours rolled around. Although the noise levels did climb, it was never too much and it was still easy for us to carry on a conversation, even across a broad table (we had one of those big booths, even though there were only two of us - but we appreciated the space). There were a lot of guests in business attire and there are a few reasons I can think of for this: close to financial district, APEC this week, and it seems like a well-visited restaurant for business dinners. I felt somewhat underdressed as a result, but it wasn't a big deal, especially in SF. Service: The servers (there were two - I think one of them was in training) were friendly and attentive, and able to answer questions and give recs with ease. They checked in regularly to see how things were going and to inquire if there's anything else we wanted, but they weren't pushy about it. Food: We shared the Hokkaido milk bread (the first thing to catch my eye on the sharing menu) - it was quite sizable for 2 people, had good texture, and was tasty. We also shared the squash blossom (it's on the in-person menu but not their online menu) - it had interesting textures and a lot of flavour packed in. For my entree, I ordered the risotto (didn't add the scallops so I kept it vegetarian) - it was sooo good and my favourite dish of the evening. Was too full to have a dessert, but I did have one of their cocktails with espresso to finish. Great experience overall and I can confidently say it won't be years again before I visit Prospect again.

4.5 :) but I'd round up. Had an amazing dinner. Was able to find a same day reservation for a weekday. The soft shell crab and hummus stood out. Very flavourful and cooked just right. The Salmon was good but not exceptional. Cocktails are recommended. Chocolate Parfait was heavy but so yummy!

(Edited: 08/31/19) I visited Prospect again on my last day as a Infinity resident. My wife and I had a great meal - market fig salad, morel mushroom flatbread, smoked short ribs and the duck. The smoked short ribs was definitely the highlight. It was reminiscent of texas style barbecue, but more balanced and refined. Probabaly the best preparation of short ribs I've ever had. (2017) We had a reservation for 7 adults and 3 infants, and the staff were very accommodating to our needs, gave us a lot of room considering we had three strollers. The food was great all around. Very seafood-centered. We were there to celebrate a wedding and they would've scored extra points if they did something to help us celebrate, but unfortunately there was nothing like that.

Good place. Great staff and excellent food. Stopped in for a quick bite and drinks with colleagues and the place was busy but staff was attentive. Bar guys didn't like the crowding around their delivery station but barring the scowls the evening went nice

Fantastic place, can’t say enough how wonderful were the food, staff, and atmosphere. We have been in many places around the world but this place is unique. The high standards from appetizers to desserts were kept throughout the meal. Flavors well balanced, fresh ingredients, and beautiful presentation. All elegant in a very simple way. Outstanding were the Heirloom tomato salad, fried chicken, and the hot chocolate cake. Looking forward to visit again!

We got the Braised Octopus a la Plancha and the Bucatini Cacio e Pepe as appetizers. Then we got the Seared Diver Scallops, Roasted Duck Breast, and Snake River Farms Babette for entrees. I feel like I should have more to say about the dishes, but I think they were good, but nothing memorable. Just classic new American dishes.
