Amazing place with authentic Spanish cuisine that will make you lick your fingers and best sangria I've ever had. Make you close your eyes and transport you to Spain. Been going to this place for over 20 years, grew up along side it. Still the same people work there. The employees really love the food and have the best customer service. When I go to Zarzuela they truly treat me like a VIP! You must try this place, you simply must!

I loved the tapas and variety. Hot, cold, lots of seafood, even vegetarian. They also have daily specials. Tapas and wine is enough food, but definitely would like to try an entreé another time. The service is good-team effort. The entire staff jumps in. Very authentic Spanish feel.

Some of the very best food from Spain you will ever have. The owners and waiters could not be any nicer. The food and service was excellent and I would give them a 10 star rating.

Referred here for paella and thoroughly enjoyed a post-thester dinner of Paella A La Valencia paired with Tempranillo, Rioja 2011. Delicious meal, excellent service, and an abundance of charm.

My place in San Fran. I've been going here for 15 years, and it never disappoints. Solid food, and if you sit back and relax, you're in Madrid.

Zarzuela is our favorite tapas restaurant! My husband and I “LOVE” it there! It is the best Spanish cuisine in San Francisco! We had 6 or 7 different tapas and they were all outstanding! Our waiter was super wonderful too! We go there pretty often and we tell our friends to make sure they go there too! This place is phenomenal and we can’t wait to go again real soon! Everything is DELICIOUS!!

Cool Spanish joint in Russian Hill. A very tasty tapas spot with an even better drink menu. To start off, they had a beautiful meat and cheese board. The garlic shrimp probably the best item they have, was heavenly. The oysters were very fresh and of good quality. They had some delicious desserts as well. I always go with a flan if they have it. I do wish the octopus was a bit better, it let a lot left to be desired. The service was quick, friendly and knowledgeable. Abrazo is also a perfect spot for an intimate date, a family gathering or a special occasion. Dos shrimps up 🍤🍤

-humo y seco (smooth with a smoky aftertaste) -grilled octopus (perfect crunch) -bone marrow (highlight of the meal, could use more bread slices) -pork loin (some parts were juicy, other parts were a bit dry) -bunuelos with ice cream, hazelnut, and meyer lemon Amanda and bartender provided friendly service.

Great tapas spot in Russian Hill/North Beach area. We had a large group for dinner and tried much of the menu. Everything was delicious with beautiful presentation. One of the faves was the bone marrow but every plate went back clean. We ate in the main dining area, which is airy and full of natural light, with a Euro feel to it. The service was quick and attentive. A bit pricey, but the food and the Californian Malbec in particular were great.

Great tapas spot in Russian Hill/North Beach area! Everything we tried was delicious - the croquetas were super crispy, the salad was incredibly refreshing, and the potatoes were roasted to perfection and saucy! The mains were so well portioned and delicious as well - the pork chop was super tender and the chicken was so well seasoned. It’s a really wonderful spot for date night or having a group dinner with some friends!

I should start by declaring that I was not the one who paid, and that does make a difference. They were short on vegetarian options, so they made me an off-menu vegetarian pasta, which, surprisingly, was the best meal-out that I had in San Francisco this week. Pro-tip: don't order ice-cream after eating the meal of your dreams; you should keep that taste on your tongue as long as possible.

Flavor and Aesthetics. All dishes were delicious and beautifully plated. We also had cocktails and they were perfectly executed. The "La Quemada" was particularly good if you like rye and Manhattan type drinks. They also have a good wine selection. The paella was good and service was quick.  Portions are small so you do need to order an appetizer and main per person. Pricey but well executed.

Had a great experience here. The Gambas are flavorful with a slice spice, but the real highlight is the chicory salad. Amazing combination of bitter, fat, sweet and tart in a unique way. Also great vibes

What an amazing culinary experience! My husband and I stumbled upon this great restaurant and decided to stop and eat something as we were veeeery hungry. Boy, did we eat. We had a three course meal - appetizers, main dish and dessert. Our waiter was very friendly and had great recommendations. This is the best meals we've had since we arrived in the U.S. I highly recommend trying this place. I wish somebody told us about it sooner! 1000000/10

Great place, the food felt very authentic and well made! The only damper was the service which was extremely slow... We were seated in the back room and the waiter would only stop by every 5-10 minutes. We ordered the drinks first and they took 15+ minutes to get to us (even the water!) and we were informed we had to order some of the food as soon as we sat down (the paella and chicken usually take 30 minutes but that night they'll take 45, so we wanted to order right away) however, the waiter didn't stop by again till about 10+ additional minutes... Overall we waited well over an hour for the food. The food itself was great but the service could have been better.

Absolutely amazing culinary experience. The atmosphere is very nicely put together and the staff were friendly and helpful. Had the roasted chicken and the pork tenderloin and both were exceptional. We topped our meal off with their lovely panna cotta dessert and left full and happy. Definitely recommend a visit if you're in San Fran.

This place is renovated on the basis of a traditional Spanish restaurant and turns into a modernized Spanish place. The presentation looks great, size is delicate, taste is superb and the ingredients are absolutely in the high quality. Hurry up to be here before it becomes another Michelin-Starred restaurant. So far, it does not serve tasting menu, but I definitely recommend the chef of the cuisine to develop one in the near future.

Cozy and intimate in the heart of Russian Hill with super friendly and attentive staff. We had the Seasonal House Bread, which was delicious, warm and crusty, with a flavorful mixture of cherry tomatoes, shallots, fines herbes, and smoked paprika olive oil. The Charred Octopus was cooked perfectly - highly recommend. My favorite dish was a heavenly combination of black mission fig, cheese, and Jamon Seranno. The flavors were perfectly balanced. The New York Strip was cooked to perfection and was served with chimichurri. Definitely ask for extra chimichurri ;) Overall, the food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the ambiance was warm and inviting.

We stuck with some classic tapas and they were all delicious, as was the sangria. We took a try with the grilled stone fruit and duck confit and it was the best of the night. Service was very attentive without being annoying.

Exquisite food, delicious flavors, incredible service. Chef Mike is super nice and visited our table after each course to check in. Lots of ambience being in an old meat market with the iron meat racks still on the ceilings. A culinary delight and can't wait to visit again! 🍷🍷

Party of 4, we ordered only appetizers and drinks which filled us up. Very unique menu. Charred octopus, Tortilla Española, steak tartare, and pictured below the house made bread and meat/cheese board to name a few.

Awesome neighbourhood gem. Small and cozy, with excellent attention from the host/chef. We stuck with grazing small plates and were not disappointed. Highly recommend.
