Ghirardelli Chocolate is a super fun place for chocolate lovers! You get to choose your favorite chocolates from a bunch of options, and they even have a special area just for ice cream and shakes. The chocolate machine inside is really cool, and the cafeteria looks like San Francisco's famous cable cars, which is neat. With so many choices and a cool vibe, Ghirardelli is a must-visit for anyone who loves sweets. It's like a sweet adventure with lots of yummy treats!

Really interesting choice of ice cream, sundaes, shakes, and other dessert I tried nob hill chill with cookies and cream ice cream. It was AMAZING!! Customer service is exceptional. Really helpful! They explained really well and provided good recommendations. Their hot fudge is in house made one. And also fresh. I could really feel the richness and creaminess of the drink. Highly recommended!!

When in the Bay Area, do as the Bay Area locals do… well, maybe enjoying a chocolate treat is NOT quintessential San Franciscan. But if you are a tourist or in town visiting a friend, you will be remiss if you don’t treat yourself to a Ghirardelli’s World-Famous Hot Fudge Sundae - or a milkshake, hot chocolate, brownies, cookies, hot fudge, etc. This bay side landmark has several food options and this restored chocolate factory has three stores on site; the Original Ghirardelli Ice Cream and Chocolate Shop, Ghirardelli Chocolate Experience, and the Ghirardelli On-The-Go. Spend an hour enjoy chocolatey treat and the breath-taking view of the bay from this vantage point.

We did not order from the confectionery, but rather went in the side door to purchase the bulk chocolate squares. You could either purchase the chocolate squares by weight or a flat rate per clear box. We chose the flat rate box and filled it with the chocolates we wanted to try. The staff was fantastic. A pleasant younger woman greeted us and helped us to make sure we fit all that we possibly could into the package (flat rate). Which turned out to cost less than if we filled a bag by weight. It was a relatively small area so it got fairly congested but still bearable.

This is a really fun place to visit. Lots of great things to eat and drink and the ambiance is lovely. There are a lot of great shops. There isn't as much to it as you might think but it is still enjoyable and there are lots of yummy treat.

Came for a sundae but unfortunately they were not as good as they looked. They only have vanilla ice cream and some toppings. Maybe this is expecting too much, but we thought they would have chocolate ice cream The inside of the store smelled delicious, from the chocolate machine in the back. Overall it was a good experience but it was pricey for what it was and I wouldn’t go back

Chocolate heaven. It's a bit like Willy Wonka's chocolate factory! The best tasting Mocha...and according to my American cousins the 'healthiest' chocolate you can buy....no heavy metals.

Visiting the Ghirardelli square was a really pleasant experience. I went in the summer when it was quite warm outside, so it was lovely getting one of their “World Famous” Sundaes and sitting just outside in the green area on the benches overlooking the water. Would highly recommend visiting and especially trying the Hot Fudge Sundae.

Some part is under renovation, still many shops open in March 23. The decadent hot chocolate was super thick, small cup will do. Brownie was awesome

This is another cafe where you can dine in or take out the dessert. When you walked to the rear ended of the restaurants, there are complimentary water bar on the left. And the rear area you will get to see chocolate hot fudge machines mixer and waffles cone maker section. Very interesting to pay a visit. The restaurant also has a strong cocoa aroma. Good for chocolate lovers to taste the world famous handmade fudge desserts 🍨

First time being in this store. Was just browsing and wanted to tried their new hot fudge and their sea salt drink and was surprisingly delicious. It wasn't too sweet but was just right. Definitely recommend their drinks.

I had their world famous chocolate fudge sundae and it was otherworldly. I just loved it. You have to try it once in your life. And the place itself is beautiful. As you can see, I have posted photos of nearby places too. But due to covid, their historical machine which shows how ice cream is made was closed. Still, it was a great experience.

Must visit place in San Francisco. Always a queue to get in but it moves fast. Order any of their Sundaes but the portion sizes are quite big. You could sit in the park across the street and enjoy the ice cream with the view of the Bay and the Golden Gate bridge.

I was really excited to try some desserts from here, until I saw the calorie counts (900+). If you're up for some serious indulgence, this is the place. I ended up ordering the Ocean Beach, which was salty and sweet. I liked it, but the fudge quickly melted the ice cream, so you need to eat it immediately unless you don't mind some soup. I'd recommend stopping here if you are in the area!

There is a line, but only because it is so good! Smaller place, so no room inside for sitting. Sectioned off space outside for sitting, plus some large concrete steps that most people used. View of the Bridge and Bay. Plus there is a really large grassy green space to put out a blanket if you wish. Treats were great! Service was fast, friendly and helpful.
