I love dim sum in general, so I was excited to see this option at the Ferry Building for a very quick and satisfying lunch. I ordered the sticky rice with meat, which is maybe three times the size of one bundle you'd get at a Chinese restaurant, although ordering at a restaurant would be much cheape
Their meat sticky rice in banana leaf ($9) is bombdiggity! Very filling and great value compared to their other items on the menu. One item that is definitely not of great value is their hot Vietnamese coffee ($3.75). Small and tastes like a very sweet regular latte. Would come back for the sticky r
Overpriced Vietnamese food for sure - I paid $18 for their daily LUNCH lemongrass chicken rice special. Don't get me wrong, it was tasty, flavorful, and fresh and I understand the rent must be crazy high to run a business at the market building. But at least include a little something, like a small
As far as Vietnamese takeout is concerned, they have great food and a solid menu. Their Ferry Building location is pretty ideal if you’re walking along the bay piers, or work downtown, and they have some standing tables inside which is always nice.
Their steamed buns are good, and larger than I’d e
Craving for steam buns in SF? This is the place to go. I usually order their chicken and pork steam bun and I love the freshness and the flavor, they also have veggie steam bun too.
Ordered a chicken sandwich. Was satisfied with the taste, ingredients, and flavors. Wish it wasn't so pricey. ☹️
Would order again if I was craving a banh mi at the Ferry Building.
star down for pricey, but great place. got a pork and noodles. Usually vietnamese skimp on the meat, but this place offered a good portion of tasty pork. the noodles were well cooked. good noodle bowl for sure, nice little meal, i actually felt the meat to noodle ratio was fair for once. fresh too,
The food was very yummy! We tried the vegetarian steamed buns, the vegetarian crispy imperial rolls, and the lemongrass tofu rice. Next time I’d ask for extra sauce to eat with the steamed buns. The service was fast and we found a place to sit outside. Overall I highly recommend.
Great Saigon Roast Pork Sandwich. A little pricey for similar fare elsewhere, but a cut above the rest for taste. The Pork Bun and Steamed Meat in Sticky Rice in Banana Leaf good too. I'd come back for the Roast Pork Sandwich. Loved that it had good chunk of meat and lots of cilantro.
This is a great place to grab Asian food in the Ferry Building. Also Out the Door is a much more affordable option than The Slanted Door. The lemon grass chicken with rice is my favorite. The curry chicken is also very good. The food is good, the portions are generous and the prices are reasonable.
