I ordered a patty melt and liked it, but my wife ordered Chilaquiles and did not like it. The bathrooms are clean, but you need to get a code to use them.

Renewed in 2018 it had a similar menu to Mel's Drive in. I love that they have all day breakfast.

I come here with my mom after her appointments at CPMC at least once a month. We usually get the same server (Delma) she is also so kind with an awesome personality! I've tried several items on the menu, and every one of them has been delicious, which is why we've been coming there faithfully for the last 4 years. The atmosphere is very comfortable, relaxed, and clean. An added plus is the oldie but goodies playing throughout the restaurant. My mom and I always find ourselves smiling and singing during our meals.

When visiting San Francisco this seems to be a staple of this area. I tried the tuna melt it was good. My parents tried the creole fried chicken sandwich they said it was ok. They also offer breakfast all day which I ordered on another day. I got the Denver omelette with peppers and cheese hash browns and sourdough toast. I also try the famous Mel's burger it was good. So as you can see they have several options try it out for yourself.

We recently stayed 5 days at the well located Courtyard Marriott Van Ness in San Francisco which is located above Mel's Kitchen. We have eaten there many times over the years but during this visit, we really appreciated the convenience of having a great restaurant right downstairs to easily bring up to our room. For breakfast, we enjoyed their veggie omelet, waffle, French toast, pancakes, eggs, bacon and potatoes and more. For lunch and dinner, we loved their excellent crispy fried chicken, club sandwich, grilled chicken sandwich and BLT. They are quick to prepare the food and on time plus their staff are friendly and professional. We were so grateful to have the convenience of a reliably delicious restaurant that is both casual and friendly. The historic photos are fun to view as well. Highly recommend for locals, visitors, families, group celebrations and much more!

A classic 50's themed diner located in the heart of the city known for juicy burgers, crispy fries, and thick milk shakes. One of my go to spots for a good Patty Melt, they also offer a variety of other dishes, including steaks, chicken, fish, and salads. They also have a full bar, so you can enjoy a drink with your meal. If you have enough room for dessert, the pies a la mode are also very good options here.

Convenient location and solid breakfast place. There are not many breakfast options in the area, so this is a good choice. Everything was well prepared and service is friendly and efficient. This is a former Mel's Diner, still under same crew but remodeled and rebranded to fit he new owners concept to include a full bar. The interior is somewhat bland and boring by San Francisco standards.

I was there for breakfast and it was fantastic, especially the sausage. Quick service. Very clean place. 4 stars only because they were out of hash browns.

Overpriced for the quality. Seems they have issues with organization even when not too busy; food temperature was too low for both orders had to ask for them to be warned up, toast wasn't toasted. Staff was dismissive and wasn't on top off coffee. I'd recommend skipping this place for breakfast, there are better spots in the area. Edit: changed to 4 stars, they comped one of our meals.
