THE BEST DIM SUM IN SF Though service can be slower when they’re especially busy, you’ll forget about that after your first bite. I recommend going at brunch, the only time the dim sum menu is available. My favorites: • Soup dumplings (careful, they’re fragile but have the best flavor) • Pork shri
Are you a fan of Chinese food? Mama Ji’s will make you very satisfied! Their staff is very friendly and attentive. They are happy to help you if you not sure of choice Food is delicious and takes you on a journey to Far East. Each dish is better than the other. Great place to go with group of frie
As authentic and pridefully-made Sichuan cooking goes, this is indeed one of the best places in the City. Maybe *the* best. It ain't really a dumpling or dim sum house and the menu is unique and largely exotic, but if you know what to order ~ the Dry-fried anything, Kung pao, Fish w/ chilis & Si
What a surprise, it’s one of those places that you stumble upon and fall in love with all the food. The fried rice, tofu, and pork were all so flavorful that we finished every single bite! More food stuff @vin.foodjournal
Had dinner here to celebrate Chinese New Year's Eve. Dumplings were fantastic! Would come back for more. 👍 🍺 and 🍷 selection is excellent. Especially compared to other Chinese restaurants. Had a nice Belgian IPA. Ordered four vegetarian dishes and they were all good. Very spicy. Tofu was excellent
Nice service and big portions of food. The dishes are authentic, even though the owner are not from Sichuan. I lost my scarf there but luckily found it again. Especially the dumplings are super good. Only problem is finding a good place for parking
Great Dim Sum and Chinese food with Belgian beer My wife and I had heard about the restaurant from a local SF friend. There was a bit of a wait, but it was worth it. The dim sum was very fresh and tasty. We had the vegetarian pot stickers (my wife is a vegetarian). However, I ended eating half of w
Good schezuan food. The Chongqing chicken was crispy and spicy, and the country pork was excellent as well. Noodles with spicy bean paste were comforting but less exciting than the other dishes we tried. A few tables around us seemed to think dishes were too spicy, but for me the level of spice was
This was one of my favorite meals when we visited San Francisco. We got there right when it opened, everything we had was delicious. The fried tofu was amazing with a little spice to it and the tofu was soft and silky and the soup (Shanghai) dumplings were delicious. Pork Chow Mein was great, the no
If you’re craving spicy Sichuan food, this is the place. They also have the all-time favorites, such as dumplings and sweet-and-sour pork. The place has a casual vibe and service was attentive. Prices are mid-range.
Amazing food and experience. I have seriously never had Chinese food as tasty and addicting as this. I can’t wait to come back.
I like spicy food and eat spicy food well. When I lived in Chicago, I enjoyed trying various szechuan dish at a few well-known restaurants in Chinatown. At this place, we ordered very spicy for the fish dish and beef dish. The first bite was good. There was also a slight refreshing lemon taste to it
Agreed with Matthew here. Definitely not a reason to give 1 star to a favorite restaurant. They’re trying to make this place look better for us to enjoy and you’re going to fault them for that. C’mon now. Not a fair rating. Mama Jis is outstanding! Can’t wait to see the renovations and to see you in
You don’t give 1 star and drag down the rating of your favorite restaurant bc it’s temp closed for renovations until August. You give it 5 and you mention it politely to onlookers. Mama Ji’s is THE Chinese restaurant in this part of town. Superb quality and consistency. See you in August.
Mama Ji's is great for weekend brunch for a couple or with a few friends. Usually quick seating and fast service. I feel like I've been here over 20 times as my wife loves it. Tasty dumplings and noodles and something for everyone. Can bit a bit tight seating and loud but the food is fantastic!
