Exceptional dining experience. I finally feel satiated eating amazing fresh oysters here. The crab cakes and local snapper cooked in a paper were exceptional. I’ll be back every time I visit San Francisco for sure. Very friendly hostess and beautiful space too. Yum.

The food was excellent. All of it. I even had the banana bread pudding and usually I don’t eat dessert but I could eat that pudding forever. The chef knew what he was doing. The only drawback was that it took quite a while to get our food and we only had three dishes and there were only three other customers at the time. Also the server was the kindest and helpful too!

Amazing food and service. The atmosphere was very cozy. This was the first place we tried when staying in SF, and our favorite by far.

When I’m in SFO, I like to go here. It is such a special place. The waitress is lovely, patrons are known by name, there is a nice couple next table to chat with (you probably meet them later at the Opera), the cable cars are rattling by (try to get a table at the large bay window), prices are reasonable (for SFO), the whole place is a bit lost in time (Christmas songs playing in June) and you can just get lost in time in it too. Unfortunately, the food is mediocre. Go there at 5pm, have the happy hour oysters, they really are good, and the sauvignon blanc from Chile and just enjoy yourself

Pretty chilled out and on the quiter end. Cool environment, nice staff but mainly great food! Loved the stuffed shrimp and seafood pasta!

Happy Hour is the best at this lovely and romantic spot. The oyster selection is amazing at an amazing deal. If they have Fanny Bay's go for it!

This place was great and the staff were perfect - Sophia was just an absolute gem. We picked it somewhat randomly and I couldn't be happier about giving them a shot. The oysters, sea bass, and garlic prawns were all awesome. I'll definitely go back again.

This is a great "in the neighborhood" seafood restaurant, I wish there was something like it in Orange County! The service was very attentive, the food and wine were great, and I was blown away that this was a white tablecloth restaurant, for local residents or tourists enjoyment.

Couldn’t believe this place was empty. Reasonable happy hour, we had oysters, chowder, lobster bisque, lobster ravioli and the bread pudding. Delish! Plus, the joy of seeing the cables cars pass. Great SF find.

Place is simple and perfect. En papalote! Get it! Oysters, $18 per dozen from 5-7! Get them! I love the decor, maps, ships, examples of sailor knots, and a pay phone between the 2 restrooms…. The place is dated, warm, and (I’ll say it again), perfect. Sorry to those that don’t get it.

Kind of pricey & doesn't seem like it would have such amazing food but, I had the oysters, Clam chowder, crusted prawns & the mahi mahi. Everything was caught day of which was super nice. The oysters were very good. The clam chowder was beautiful; the consistency was perfect & the flavor was so good. The mahi mahi was cooked to perfection & had the most exquisite flavor. Adding the fresh squeezed lemon on top makes this dish one of the most delicious food I have ever had. & last but in no way least... The crusted prawns we're beautiful as well & so full of flavor. Highly recommend this place for off the beaten path good eats. Even with them being short handed they rocked it.

This may be one of the most underrated restaurants I have ever come across. Maybe the service isn't quick enough or chatty/funny enough for the neo-enlightened and entitled population of San Francisco but for a normal human being who has lived and eaten the world over, I love this authentic place and people. Exceptional French seafood cuisine at a reasonable price. I eat here twice a week.

Just….perfect. An old San Francisco restaurant, high on the hill, with cable cars passing, marvelous food, freshest oysters ever and wonderful service. The magic of our city at its best.

Staff was really great. Good selection of oysters, very fresh. We also had the fish en papillote, perfectly prepared and very tasty.
