This place is a piece of gem. The environment is so clean while you walked in.
Summer squash soup is so good!! A must try!
I also order the steak salad, honestly I don't quite like it, the beef has very plain flavor, and very chewy, the carrot and potato has the same problem. Hope chef can work more on the sauces.
A triple triumph of fantastic service, excellent sourcing and knowledge of their food and wine, and a creative menu populated by unequivocally delicious dishes. Too bad I didn't get a picture of the roasted wings because they were surprisingly massive and flavorful. Freshly baked cookie at the end was awesome! Will definitely come back to try whatever else they put on the menu!
Ahh I loved Homage. The avocado toast was fantastic. The textures they combined with having the solid avocado on top of the mashed avocado... it might sound like too much but they balance it perfectly. I wish I knew all the ingredients they through in here and I’d try creating it myself. I wish I lived in San Francisco just to get this dish more often!
Excellent food. Lovely location.
We had pancakes, latte, burrito and fresh green juice.
Not getting 5 ⭐️ because it's overpriced
The staff, the food, the coffee, and the selection of beer and wine are all fantastic! David is a skilled chef and a lovely human being. I find myself at Homage quite often. It is laid back, has a mixed crowd, and effortlessly creates a very welcoming environment. Count me in as a loyal guest.
Great food and coffee. Stopped by for brunch on a Wednesday and it was half full. I had a latte and eggs with their homemade chorizo sausage.
Why do I like the expensive hipster places so much? It’s in a little alley so it’s a little hidden if you don’t know where it is, but the interior is super nice and clean and doesn’t look like it belongs in an alley. This place is conveniently located near my work and I stopped by here for lunch. I got the house smoked trout tartine and it was delicious! It’s not super big, but I was still filled up. The smoke trout was super fresh, light, and cooked perfectly. The in combination with the toast and veggies were really good.
Overall, I love the ambience and the food is good as well. It might be for a once in a while treat though as this place is a little pricey.
Love the local approach to the menu. Dinner options are limited, but good choices among them. The gnocchi and mushrooms dish was excellent.
Delicious little gem! Go on the little street as if you are going to the public parking lot and it’s right there with a big H sign. Adorable cozy little place with delicious food.
I've eaten here several times with different groups of friends. And tried something different each time. What sets Homage apart is food simply prepared, with fresh ingredients yet that indefinable something that keeps you coming back time and again. It's superb. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is mellow. I love the selection of tea at breakfast too.
Very tasty, fresh and local food in a nice atmosphere. It can become very busy during the lunch hour so I arrived at 1:30 a my group had the place mostly to ourselves. We all enjoyed the offerings, I only wish they served a dessert or two. I will return for sure.
We brought a group of college students to SF from Ohio and so we didn't know much about the area or what restaurants were really good. Homage was the perfect place for our large group! The food was amazing and the service was exceptional. Everything ran smoothly, even with a large group of 20. Highly recommend!
Staff go out of their way to get to know you. Great service and delicious food. Highly recommend the oatmeal for breakfast!
I hosted a party for about 50 people at Homage and it was perfect! The staff, and Anya in particular, were so easy to work with when planning the event. She was able to work with me to stay within my budget, helped provide ideas and options for live music (even though we just ended up using spotify over their speakers in the end), and was extremely responsive to my questions and changes to the guest list.
They were able to set up the venue to make it feel not too crowded, but not empty, staffed the event with friendly, attentive people, and were very accommodating of dietary restrictions. Most importantly, the food was delicious! Courses like the lamb rack, baked asparagus dip, and tartines just kept coming out. I had people coming up to me the next few days talking about all of it.
I highly recommend hosting your event here, or just stopping in for lunch!
I have now eaten with three different friends three times at Homage. What sets this restaurant apart is that the food is superb even though it is simply prepared. The attention to detail in the food preparation and the time and effort that go into each dish are what stands out, as does the freshness of all the ingredients. The menu is very unusual, especially for such a casual restaurant. The menu changes and thus I have had three very different dishes - all were exceptional. All three friends also thought the food was incredible. There are few restaurants in San Francisco that serve this quality food at these prices in such a casual and comfortable setting.
Such a nice place to eat lunch. The approach to the restaurant is disconcerting - at the end of an alley which has garbage bins on both sides - kind of dirty street. But once you get inside, so nice!!
Great savory lunch options - both my friend and I had the Asian pear, butternut squash purée and kale salad with brined chicken; and a sinfully delicious ‘homemade’ chocolate chunk cookie.
When we arrived, we were offered a couple of mini cupcakes that were left over from a catering event - what a tasty ‘appetizer’!
There was hardly anyone there around noon, then all of a sudden the place was jumping by the time we left a little after one.
Went here on a recommendation from the concierge at our hotel. I had a tasty salad with romaine lettuce and many different fresh fruits. It really hit the spot after having greasy food a few days & chain restaurants as well. Highly recommend!
Amazing place! If you want to try authentic California food from the bay area that supports the local farmers it is the place to be.
The owner's were so nice as we were visiting from Toronto they really went out of the way to introduce themselves and tell us how the restaurant they started from ground up. Even the waitress we met her name is Destiny she was a sweet heart the whole time even recommended places for us to visit during our stay.
I highly recommend to go here and continue to support them. If I am ever back in SF I will be going back for sure. Oh and of course food was amazing. The shrimps was so big and it was marinated with a sauce that was to die for. The meats they provide from the meat dish was so fresh and delicious.
