They didn't have their green beans this time! So sad. But the Chinese broccoli was decent. We have to remember to ask for extra sauce on the ginger noodles. So good but always a little too dry. The service is very attentive at first and then they just leave you alone until all the food is gone. If want something packed up you have to ask. The Duck is tasty. But fatty. You have to be able to deal with that. That's what makes it so good. I'm pretty sure someone smokes in the kitchen while they cook. You can smell cigarettes. You have to be able to deal with that too. It's part of the experience.
This is the real deal you've been looking for. Authentic Chinese food with a very friendly staff who were terrific! The food was plentiful, fresh, tasty, delicious, and flavorful. The staff spoke very little English, but we communicated well, and I felt so happy we found our Sanfrancisco hang. We were thrilled! Try everything!
Ok I rated it as a 3 for atmosphere but honestly this is the exact atmosphere I expect for an open late Chinese food place. Ever since New Sun Hong Kong closed I have been bereft of my late night place where I can get a bowl of soup late at night. I finally made it to Yuet Lee and it did not disappoint. Gigantic portions of steaming hot bowls if won ton noodle soup, fried rice, fried noodles all streaming out of the kitchen with a frenetic pace. Will def go back.
Easy and fast service, we had salt and pepper prawns, wanton noodle soup, spicy beef with satay sauce and amazing Chinese broccoli. Plus 2 beers, it came to $94. Wanton soup could use a little more flavour and to be fair we didn’t need that soup… too full… but happy
Great food and nice staff. Well worth it. The sliced pork in plum sauce was amazing, as is their fried chow mein!!
Went to visit SF. Me and a friend were just strolling around taking photos. We worked up an appetite and I was craving fried rice. I asked a security guard at Vesuvio lounge. He recommended Yuet Lee around the way. So I took his word for it. There is so many Chinese eateries to choose from it would be a hit or miss. We got there ordered Fried Rice and their Orange Chicken. I was like whoa!! It was really really good. I usually stop by Parada 22 for some Puerto Rican food. But I did something different and I am glad I did. I definitely recommend this spot. I will definitely be coming back again. P.S. Try their spicy sauce. It’s really good. Has a nice mild kick.
Good food, I enjoyed. Excellent pork.....
But very small place
Nice place with tiny Cantonese speaking ladies who are so efficient and fast.
Had a bit of a wait but the food is served hot and steaming. Good variety for choice of dishes. Won’t go wrong with noodles, clams and squid !
Came for Christmas and had the shrimp wonton soup which was fantastic! Also enjoyed the seafood chowmein with hot tea. Overall delicious and fair prices, would come again.
Truly a HIDDEN GEM! What they lack in interior decor, they make up for in phenomenally tasting food! We did no research, we randomly chose this place, noticing a pic of Guy Fieri on the window outside. We figured it must be good if Guy has been here. It certainly did not disappoint.
Our server did not speak any English, which we took as a great sign that the food was going to be amazing & authentic. We pointed and she made notes, she said some things we aren't sure we understood (possibly indicating by hand motions that we should share the small soup I ordered, but we were STARVING & he ordered too) & we joked that she may not have gotten the correct order. Being adventurous, we decided immediately that whether she got it right or not, we would eat whatever she brought.
We ordered the Salt & Pepper Squid. It came with soy sauce with sliced jalapeños in it. It was delicious! Then our soups came. Despite the fact that we ordered a small, the bowls were enormous & definitely enough in just 1 to share, she was onto something when she motioned to the 2 idiot Americans to split it! But we are on vacation & we want to experience Chinatown & as many yummy foods as possible! I got the Wonton Soup with Prawns, but it also had carrots, bok choy, pork & some Squid in it! It was absolutely delicious! He ordered pork Noodle Soup, which also had bok choy in it, and he raved about how the pork was the perfect level of tenderness & sweetness. We could not have been happier with our selections & did our best to eat as much as we could!
After our visit, I looked it up online and found that this place comes highly recommended by several foodies & celebs, such as Anthony Bourdain, Guy Fieri, Emril Lagasse, Jackie Chan, Saveur Magazine & the NY Times! It's also open late. Despite all the clout, they remain un-americanized & true to themselves, which is exactly the experience we were hoping for!
DEFINITELY CHECK THEM OUT!
The food was absolutely yummy yeah bunch of variety it’s been a long time after Cove it was the first time visiting him you have change ownership since before Covid but still it’s one of the best Chinese
I was landing in SFO, and I was craving soup and noodles due to the chilly weather. One of the only places open in Chinatown was Yuet Lee Seafood Restaurant, and I couldn’t be happier that it was!!!! 🤩 I ordered the Beef Noodle Soup, and it was a great choice. Delicious tasty broth, tasty noodles, and veggies! I recommend this spot on a late-night dinner hunt. I will definitely go for seconds to try the chicken fried rice.
Everyone who's worked or lived in Chinatown knows this old school "I don't feel like cooking tonight" standby with late-night weekend hours offering typical Cantonese meals in a snug, bright space.
Not gourmet, but good enough, filling and affordable. All of the noodle soups are generally always a good choice in my experience.
Noted as Best to order for takeout
Phenomenal food at a great price. Owners are lovely and a family business. A regular spot for me. A real gem in SF!
The food was amazing. This was not our first choice to eat at, but the place we wanted was closed. We are happy it was because it took us out of our routine to try something new. We were not disappointed we had the pork fried rice, mongolian beef and a shrimp noodle my niece ordered. This place is family style plates and cash only. If you are looking for a good place I highly recommend it here.
Pretty good food and service. Ordered a variety of veggie, tofu and meat dishes, all were competently prepared and tasted good. Food was 4/5 stars but for the price a pretty good value.
