Great burgers in a open dog friendly location! My favorite was the KBBQ burger, and sweet potato fries with bacon!
Parking is hard, but there are lots around. Patio is nice place to sit and is dog friendly. Service was a bit slow, but they were slightly understaffed, still friendly service.
Had the Original Impossible Burger - wow. This is a great burger regardless of its origins. We don't get Impossible in the UK yet, so it was great to try the patty, but the miso spin these guys add to it was awesome. It was filling, but didn't leave me feeling heavy or greasy. Nice restaurant and I had a very friendly waitress. Can imagine this place having a great atmosphere on a game day. Would certainly recommend for their spin on the Impossible.
Great burgers, but much pricier than expected. The okra pickle was a nice touch. Unique but it did the job. While I did enjoy the food and service here, I don't think it was worth what I had paid for it.
Great burger, great fries, debatable if it's worth the price.
I went here specifically for the Impossible Burger and was not disappointed. Seriously one of the best burgers I've had - vegan or real meat. We sat outside following a Giants game and had great service. We washed our burgers down with a craft beer - and there's a wide selection from which to choose.

Came back for lunch and tried the Asian Chicken Salad. This was a great tasting salad. Dressing was excellent. Will come back just for the salad. š

Ordered the impossible burger. I've had it before at Gott's and the Umami version was not as good. The Caesar salad was good.

The Food
Umami, the taste of savory outside of sweet, salty, sour, and bitter. This is what Umami Burger got their name, and today I got a chance to visit their San Francisco location. My friend and I ordered the Maple Bacon Fries along with the Umami and Throwback. The maple bacon fries had a good taste to them. The sweet potato fries with maple braised bacon lardons and smokey bbq sauce is a good combo. The Throwback burger was good and pretty straightforward. It comes in 2 patties along with cheese, condiments, and sauce. My friend got the Umami burger, and it was not bad for her, except the parmesan frico slice was hard to eat.
The Miscellaneous
The restaurant is quite spacious inside with plenty of seating as well as a bar area. The interior has some interesting decorations and aesthetics. The service was good and the staff was sincere. Their menu is standard across their locations, with same pricing. But the prices are a bit high when compared to most other burger places. Though it is worth a try with their wide selection of different burgers.
Everything's delicious, right down to their homemade ketchup (it reminds me of Chef Boyardee sauce, but that's a plus in my book). The kinds of burgers they offer look amazing and are different from your standard fare. I want to try them all!
The diablo chicken sandwich is SO spicy. It was delicious but maybe 2 notches too spicy. Umami always has delicious burgers. The sweet potato fries were also great!!
Came here for lunch with 7 people on a Tuesday. We arrived at 11:45am and sat down right away. In 30min the place was nearly full.
The Impossible VBQ burger was great. As a big meat eater I was partially fooled. Felt and tasted like I was eating a burger cooked rare. Impressive!

I really enjoyed myself here the atomsphere was relaxing (granted I went on a Sunday afternoon), the food was amazing and the service even better. I had the impossible burger which was totally worth it's hype!! It was delicious, filling and original. The sweet potato maple bacon fries were a bit sweet for us but we still enjoyed them. The space itself is a bit crowded with tables and chairs but considering I saw them packed on a Friday night I understood why. We had great attentive servers and satbnear the bar. All in all one of my favorite burger places ever!
The only reason this is getting 4 instead of 5 is that they need to improve their GF menu. The none GF food is great, but their lettuce is not the correct lettuce to use in lieu of a bun and they don't have a dedicated fryer for the fries. A few small changes and they could be a five! The actual patties are great though!
Food is good and the price for burgers are also good. The place looks trendy and pleasant to get a quick bite before the game. I highly recommend it!
I had a regular beef burger last year at this place, tried the Impossible burger (100% vegan) this year. Still very good, with excellent beer on tap.
However, no good vibes this time: the neighborhood is gloomy and the place was near empty (on a Saturday night)...
The impossible burger is so good!! I.t tastes great and is really satisfying. A little on the pricey side for a burger but it's SF.
Tuna burger rare. Truffle fries with garlic aioli. Delicious. Good local burger joint that is never too crowded.
Got the Impossible Trufflemaker. Gave it a try because of the hyped heme burger patty. It indeed tastes just like a beef patty! Pretty juicy, the truffle sauce and relish go really well together. The jalapeƱo relish was unexpectedly quite spicy, apparently the spiciness depends on the quality of jalapeƱos they get everyday. I had the umami ketchup on the side but I am not sure if this is how umami should taste like. To me, it's a ketchup mixed with truffle. The waiter was very friendly, so it's a bonus!
