Golden Star Vietnamese Restaurant - San Francisco - Photo album

Very friendly staff. They were initially unsure about my wife’s guide dog, but once they understood her role and the importance of her service, they were very accommodating. It was the first time they experienced having a guide dog in the restaurant. The food was very tasty and it came out quickl
Tasty food, served quick, and the price is right. Not a place for vegetarians. Lots of locals eating here that's a great sign.
If you are looking for a decent BBH(Bun Bo Hue) is SF, this is a spot. Truthfully, it isn’t the best I’ve ever had but it definitely hits the spot for the craving for a great price might I add. service is just as a normal mom & pop shop, so don’t expect too much!
Four stars for Golden Star. I come here quite often when I’m in downtown and want noodles. Most recently, I got their #23 bun tom hue, their spicy shrimp soup noodle, $16.50. Lots of shrimp, decent broth that wasn’t that spicy, and awesome noodles that are thicker than usual. Card accepted!
Updated review 11/22/2023: Golden Star is the best Vietnamese restaurant in Chinatown! I used to come on a weekly basis back in the early 2000's through 2013 from Embarcadero Center 3, where I used to work. It was an awesome place to meet up with co-workers. The kitchen and service were always fast,
We were served the perfect pho: Clear flavorful broth, perfectly cooked rice noodles, razor thin sliced beef, and fresh savory herbs! It came out within a few minutes and we enjoyed a refreshing lemon soda with it. The price was super-affordable! Highly recommended.
This is the easiest 5 stars I gave a restaurant. We just walked near by this restaurant and saw it has a lot of customers so we decided to try. I had a delicious soup with meat and noodles, we had rolls with shrimps and vegan noodles. Everything was so good, fresh, and with such an interesting authe
Soup noodle with chicken leg also a fabulous dish, u won’t get bored of their taste, yummy. Ice coffee is full of aroma (its after taste different from other Vietnamese restaurants in neighborhood), nice to have! Their Vietnamese noodle is thinner and smoother than the others in Chinatown.
Has been to this place several times already, before and after pandemic. Their food has maintained the same quantity and quality as before. Will always go back if I am craving for Pho
No frills vietnamese restaurant in Chinatown, I ordered the Bun Bo Hue and it came with a perfect equal meat to noodle ratio, the broth was flavorful even though I prefer it a little spicer I just added some sriracha sauce and it was perfect. Service was good and food came out fast, would definitely
As of May 2021, there was no indoor dining but there was outdoor (on the sidewalk). But space is limited, and there's lots of flies around everywhere. Our party of 6 came by on a Saturday at 1:30 and luckily, we were able to nab the last table. We ordered a bunch of things (probably too much food).
Great hole in the wall Vietnamese \ Chinese restaurant in Chinatown. Noodle soups have nice hearty broths and rich flavors. The food is fresh and doesn't seem to contain too much if any MSG. Reasonable prices but note cash only.
No-frills restaurant with flavorful food! We sat down and were almost immediately brought a complimentary kettle of hot tea, which was a nice touch since it was so cold out. I really enjoyed the chicken fried rice, which was a large portion and flavorful (it was mostly dark meat though). My dining p
Chinatown has three Golden restaurants all within a five-minute walking distance from each other. I mean there is the Golden Flower Vietnamese Restaurant, Golden King Vietnamese Restaurant and the Golden Star Vietnamese Restaurant all close to each other. After trying both Golden Flower & Golden Kin
The biggest portion of pho I’ve ever had for such a decent price. The broth is scrumptious, the beef extraordinary, and the view outside at the park, adds to the whole experience.
No-frills Vietnamese eatery dishing out savory vietnamese noodle soups, imperial rolls, spring rolls and vermicelli noodle bowls to the local families of Chinatown and tourists looking for a good deal. Authentic flavors and big portions along with real Vietnamese coffee served out of a French press
Really good broth and they are generous on the meat! My noodles were very overcooked but overall I enjoyed my meal. I also tried the shrimp spring rolls, delicious! Soup was 12$ and the spring roll was 6$
Great pho place in San Francisco with a solid Dac Biet, the large combo with everything in it... my favorite! I get the #2(pictured) here instead of the #1 because i like everything in my pho but beef balls. I consider myself a pho traditionalist and really like the places that have Vietnamese peop
