The innovative flavor selection was great, the execution was even better. Rhubarb Crisp ice cream was a special flavor, but paired with the suggested strawberry Prosecco sauce, it was genius. The Not to be Passed Over special flavor, with coconut macaroons and chocolate-covered matzo topper, was as inventive as its perfect capturing of Passover desserts...the only thing missing would be chocolate-covered raspberry gels, which could have worked as a design topper. Served quickly and positively delicious, it was quite cool to watch your flavor being made and frozen on the spot.

Never disappoints! This is our go to ice cream in Pacific Heights. Nothing else comes close. Love the mint chocolate chip!

We had one scoop size of cookies and cream (small size) and two scoops size of dark chocolate and coffee (medium size). They could definitely fit two different flavor scoops in the small size so we could get to try more flavors but they don’t allow it. Ice cream were tasty and get the credits for using cleaner ingredients than the big brands out there but nothing really amazing compared to other artisan’s ice cream. The atmosphere was fine with limited seating.

Love a good quality homemade ice cream and this is about as close and you can get without actually making it at home. Fun location and vibe. Even at 9:30pm people we’re going in for ice cream, but no line really. Someone on Yelp recommended the chocolate ice cream and that’s what I was really wanting to get so I did, but it ended up being soooooo chocolatey (didn’t even think that was possible) that I could barely eat it. I had whipped topping on it thank goodness because that toned it down a little bit. If I do order the chocolate again I’ll probably have them tone it down with vanilla or extra cream or something. But it was a fun experience and I’ll definitely go back again. I’ll probably get vanilla or coconut next time.

So cute and smells wonderful as soon as you walk in. I wasn't sure which flavor to try you can get little samples and I did ask for their recommendations so I got the honey honey which was very good

This place is a dream. Ice cream made freshly before your eyes with liquid nitrogen in a specifically developed machine. The texture of the ice cream is amazing. Very creamy. I guess the process makes very small crystals and the tongue feel is because of that. Anyway, go you won't regret it.

I've never been the biggest fan of nitro ice cream but this was delicious! With flavours like earl grey, salted caramel, pear and more it's a great little place. There is one table in the back that seats four and then a few little seats while you're waiting but otherwise this is a grab and go place. The queue was out the door when we arrived but it moved very quickly and soon we had our ice cream which was delicious. They offer waffle bowls, cones or cups depending on preference. I had the vanilla with butter pecan sauce and it was delicious.

Was in SF for two weeks and attempted a different ice cream shop every day (more or less.) Smitten was one of my favourites - I walked 2km for my scoop and it was worth every step. Flavours are offbeat but delicious and I loved how the ice cream was made fresh and in front of me. Don't miss out on the waffle cones, they're homemade fresh every day and are utterly delicious. Cool store, friendly staff, quality ingredients - this is one scoop you won't want to miss!

I’ve eaten a lot of ice cream in the last 50 years, and it’s hard to nail down which ice cream was the best of the best, but Smitten comes really close. Their unique approach of freezing the ice cream when you order it, using liquid nitrogen, results in something so creamy, so tasty ... you have to try it. When you visit, expect a very short list of available flavors of the day... 5 or so. And read the menu carefully, because each flavor has some recommended toppings to go with it. I had a bourbon peach ice cream and added a crunchy topping, and it was SO good. If I had stayed in San Francisco a little longer, I would have gone back and tried their other flavors as well. There are several locations around San Francisco, and I see that there is one in Oakland. It’s worth the trip!

Seriously good ice cream! It’s pricey, presumably as they make it to order (not totally convinced this is more than a gimmick) but still, it’s seriously tasty. The perfect desert spot if you’ve been next door for dinner.

Smitten carries quality small batch ice cream in unique & intense flavours. The revolving seasonal menu gives customers a chance to try out new flavours often. Good location in Lower Pac Heights (smaller than the one's in Hayes Valley & the Mission)--a few blocks away from the Fillmore district & J--town.
