The Grotto - San Francisco - Photo album

Next to Aliotos seafood restaurant that closed after all these years. Good food, but touristy and prices reflect that. Better to go to old family owned restaurants around the city, north beach, etc.
They had a wide hall but seats windowside only were occupied, but food and service were good.
Stop by here and try the fresh seafood, get something to share so you can enjoy other tastes nearby. This is historical place and it's right in the heart of the Fisherman's Warf in SF.
Beautifully decorated seafood restaurant/Bar. The food was pretty pricey but I'd expect most seafood places to be.. otherwise the food was cooked perfectly and tasted fantastic! And to top it off, the service was very, very pleasant. Both our server and the Host who gave us a better overview of the
Had a fabulous meal there in late August when we took family and friends. The crab was absolutely delicious and my husband's pasta with clams was a big hit too. We want to return just the two of us. Hope it doesn't close down. A real gem at fisherman's wharf that I first remember visiting in the

OUT OF THIS WORLD GOOD!!! I highly recommend having dinner at this restaurant. The food and service were incredible.
Superb view of Fisherman's Wharf and a bit of Golden Gate bridge during lunch time (from the 2nd floor). Got great clam chowder soup ( we think it's better than Boudin's). Highly recommended to eat here.
Ate outside at a table in the sun, had a delicious bowl of chowder (best we’ve had) with a delicious loaf of sourdough (instead of a bread bowl) that the friendly host sliced. Creamy, with clam in every bite!
Food tasted good and server was nice.
Great lil place to eat....a little on the pricey side but it's worth it. We went kinda early so that may have been the reason it was kind of empty. I got the crab melt with a house salad. The sandwich was phenomenal.... Cooked just right, the cream meat and cheese tasted great and the salad was grea
