Had a bit of time, so walked the Castro in SF. Happened on Aquitaine and was drawn in by the atmosphere, couches and homey decor. Not many folks at 4pm, the staff seemed like good friends enjoying working together. Pleasant music, so I decided to try it. I got the special, a reasonable price for the area. I’m glad I tried it, and am inspired to recommend it.

Been here four or five times, never disappoints. Be ready to relax and have a glass of wine, if you are not sure on what to pick pair with your food, ask for help. The owner has an extensive knowledge and wine cellar to match your craving or food pairing.

Absolutely adorable spot. Everything is super curated from the decor and vibe to the regional wine list to the incredible menu. The chef and owner greeted me and was honestly the coolest guy. Everything was delicious, so many things I still want to try, will definitely be back!!!

Love this place! Good homey food, great ambiance. Feels like I’m in cafe in Europe and is the type of place you could go to eat alone or with company.

We went to celebrate my friends birthday. It's very cozy and nice there, I love the entire design is very unique. It feels like you are seating at the living room. Food is a mix of French and American cusine, mussels were so good and delicious. What impressed me the most is how they serve the food, plating is so unique and cute. That burning smell of rosemary is stucked in my head. Great selection of wines, afordable. Will recommend to try out this place.

Solid four stars! This is coming from healthy food fan. I really liked the vibe of this old school french restaurant. Kind of refreshing after the whole hipster culture taking over our office spaces, coffee shops, wardrobes and restaurants. 🍷 Great wine selection 🍽 very limited food menu, huge plus for me. I do not eat in the restaurants where 🍣 and 🍕 are on the same 10-page menu 🍰 I had polenta with scallops and polenta itself seemed too oily for me but some would argue this is what French food should be like. It was tasty for sure. Darker lightning and creative made from wine glasses and bottles chandeliers made it a very fun team lunch. Affordable prices and good service.

Aquitaine is one of my favorite restaurants in San Francisco, and I’ve never been disappointed. The staff is so friendly and inviting, the food is incredible and the atmosphere is cozy. The steak frites and Mac and duck are two of my favorites.

Aquitaine’s new location on church street brings the same charm and delicious food and drink as the original in FiDi! It’s a welcome addition to the neighborhood, and one I’ve been waiting all of 2020 to open. Thank you for your generous accommodation and rejuvenation on election night. We’ll be back again and again and will be remiss not to take advantage of this fabulous happy hour. Please don’t miss out on the mussels, pommes frites and deviled eggs. I can’t wait to try more.

@Aquitainesf reminds me of the time in SF when we would find an amazing gem of a restaurant in an assuming location, flying under the radar. It's simply amazing and local.

Great food, great atmosphere, wonderful service. Have gone a few times for happy hour and have such a blast. Don’t miss out on the happy hour deviled eggs, crab stuffed mushroom, polenta fries and regular fries, served in a cute wooden shoe! Great place for groups or to go alone and read a book with a nice glass of wine.

A tiny little tucked away wine bar in the middle of the Fidi. Quiet, Convenient and really reasonable pricing. Myself and a few coworkers came here for an impromptu work session the other day. I don't know how I missed this place working here for so long. We had a couple bottles of wine while we finished up some important work stuff, lol. From what I saw they have a pretty well curated collection of wines to choose from. I was not disappointed in the Cab Franc we were served. I was there from about 3:30 -5pm so just before the after work crowd would have hit so I can't comment on how busy it might potential get during peak hours. It's a perfect little place to get a drink with friends and coworkers after a long day though, and I will definitely be coming back to try their bites and more wine.

Location is closed. I talked to one of the construction guys and he said the restaurant is moving to a new spot on Church St. I would have just reported it closed on Maps but that reporting feature requires me to know the exact spot of the new location. I will update my review once I actually get to eat here. (I picked 4 stars so as to not deviate too much from the actual rating.)

Loved the food, great staff, excellent wine selection. Ended up here just by chance and was super happy about it. The brussels sprouts are delicious, and my coworker had the burger which was really good as well
