YUM!!!!⭐️AWESOME!!!!👍Amazing experience!!!! I read that the great Anthony Bourdain ate here so we visited too see what it was all about. Ok, this place is amazing!!! Simple, historic, delicious! Toasted sourdough double cheeseburger with onions, pickles, mustard- so good, so juicy!🍔The garlic fries were also good.🧄🍟Cold water on tap. I like water.💧 The inside is interesting with many past celebrities photos. Large outside bar area on the water.🍻🍸🌊 I give this place high praise. Everything was great. Lightening fast service⚡️ excellent food, decent bathroom🚻 Highly recommended 👌

I really enjoy the food and atmosphere at Red's Java House. My husband and I decided to check it out because Anthony Bourdain used to go there and spoke highly of it, and it didn't disappoint. We've been there a couple times now and I love the veggie burger, my husband likes the fish & chips, and the onion rings are crispy and delicious. We like sitting out on the back patio right on the water.

A must-try when visiting San Francisco, this dockside greasy spoon (built on Pier 30) carries a long and colorful history as well as front-and-center Bay Bridge view. Far from gourmet (read sign: ”We don’t serve tomato or lettuce”), the breakfast and burgers are simple, stick-to-your-bones divvy staples. Back patio and cheap beer-burger combo a plus.

I have been visiting this place off and on for the last 20 yrs. Food is classic americana. They've added outdoor seeting for a nice view of both the giants stadium and the bay bridge! Double cheese burger, a pint and fries!! Cant miss!!

Wanna gird yourself before the $15 beers and $7.50 hot dogs at Oracle Park? Do you enjoy sitting by the wharf, watching seagulls stalk leftover fries, and throwing back a bucket of 6 PBRs for the same cost of one Coors Light in the ballpark? Then stop by Red's. I can't tell you much about the java, but there's no better place to pregame a 12:45pm Giants game. Pro-tip: the portable toilets usually have a much shorter waiting line than the indoor bathrooms.

Every now and then you need to slow down, catch your breath, and have a treat. I found myself in this situation on a sunny Thursday afternoon and Red's was there to deliver. If your day is calling for some great fish in chips in a relaxing bay front outdoor patio, this is your spot.

This is a San Francisco icon. I am lucky to live close and enjoy eating here on a regular basis. Food is great and the staff is super friendly. This venue is a true safe and friendly San Francisco experience that you must try. Please support this type of local San Francisco business that are important to neighborhoods.

I am in town for business and was recommended to come here from coworker. He also stated to get the Fish & Chips. I had the day off and meandered my behind down there. From the outside you would not want to go in, except for me, I like little places like this that don't have big fancy signs and fancy buildings. The fish was just a wonderful experience. It was crisp on the outside and tender in. It was not over, nor was it under done, it was the perfect piece of White Fish. The chips (french fries) were some of the best I have ever tasted. They were salted to perfection as well as cooked to the golden brown that some of us enjoy. Just as with the fish, the chips were crunchy on the outside, however, they were nice and moist on the inside. They were not soggy, but, they were just the perfect temperature. If you get to San Francisco, or anywhere within 100 miles, drive, bike, walk, or moped yourself down to this nice little place on the pier and grab you some Fish & Chips. They give you plastic utensils, of which, I am sure offends some of you, but, if it makes you feel better, they have a recycling can.

Old school San Francisco dive bar on the waterfront with a great patio and excellent service. Some great old photos including an absolutely priceless one of Peaches Christ showing righteous disgust. Only knock would be the rather pedestrian beer selection, but that's a minor quibble. Food is standard fried fare, perfect for the location. I hope it never changes as it's perfect as it is.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Red's Java House, an iconic establishment nestled on the picturesque waterfront of San Francisco. Known for its old-school charm and delicious comfort food, Red's Java House has been a local favorite since 1912, and after my visit, I can see why it has stood the test of time. From the moment I walked through the door, I was transported to a bygone era. The interior of Red's is delightfully rustic, with weathered wooden walls adorned with vintage photographs, memorabilia, and nautical accents. The place exudes character and history, making it a unique spot to dine. The menu at Red's Java House is simple but satisfying. They specialize in classic American fare, with a particular focus on burgers and sandwiches. I opted for their renowned Java Burger, and it did not disappoint. The patty was juicy and flavorful, perfectly complemented by the melted cheese and fresh toppings. It was a no-frills, hearty burger that hit the spot. As I savored my burger, I couldn't help but appreciate the stunning view outside. Red's Java House is situated right on the waterfront, offering panoramic views of the San Francisco Bay, the Bay Bridge, and the city skyline. There are few places where you can enjoy such a delicious meal while soaking in such a picturesque setting. What truly sets Red's apart is its undeniable charm and friendly atmosphere. The staff members were warm, welcoming, and full of stories about the establishment's rich history. It's clear that they take pride in their role as custodians of this iconic establishment, ensuring that each visitor has a memorable experience. It's worth noting that Red's Java House is not a fancy, upscale eatery. It's a casual, unpretentious spot that captures the essence of old San Francisco. The prices are reasonable, and the portions are generous. This is the kind of place where you can kick back, enjoy a tasty meal, and revel in the nostalgia of a bygone era. Whether you're a local looking for a dose of nostalgia or a tourist seeking an authentic San Francisco experience, Red's Java House is a must-visit destination. It's a true gem that showcases the city's history, charm, and culinary delights. So, grab a seat at the counter, indulge in a burger, and take in the breathtaking views at Red's Java House. You won't be disappointed.

Always worth to get there for a snack while you look out of the window to the bay and enjoy the old fashioned but true interior. When I am next time in town,.. I am there.. :-)

The most authentic restaurant in SF Opened since 1955, the restaurant's still famous among locals and even more with tourists. I took a double hot dog with sourdough + fries and beer ; my goodness, it was so delicious! A bit pricy (I think I paid around 25 dollars) but we ate outside behind the restaurant. Contemplating the Bay Bridge while eating is something one appreciates! I love to share my culture and my love of life with everyone Jerome the French teacher

Never crowded, solid food and a great atmosphere. Their egg sandwich is really good on sourdough and they make basic, but tasty, strong coffee. Great place for breakfast any day of the week.

Very unique and solid burger where they serve it on a type of loaf; it’s not your classic burger bun. Plenty of pics available but so give it a try. For me it’s a unique fast food experience that’s just not available anywhere else.

Lovable Dive. Its ON the waterfront, OVER the water. Parking is all around it, plenty of parking. We liked the food, ww had breakfast quesadilla and pancakes with Java. Service was personable and good. We will come again for lunch. Oh, I forgot to mention the bar in back where we looked out at the cruise ship docked close by across the parking lot. Must be fun in the evening. Bar was featured in a TV series with Billy Bob Thorton.
