Takara Restaurant - San Francisco - Photo album

Decent quality. In many other casual Japanese restaurant I have been to, the California rolls in a Benton box can be very poorly made. But here, they prepare every piece of their food seriously. That's the spirit of a chef.
I loved this place, and I cant wait to go again. The food was good japanese comfort food, and everything tastes great and had good portions. It was a nice relaxing experience.
Decent food. Quite some interesting options for fish. Ask for today's special. Had the Miyazaki Wagyu beef sushi which is really special
My friend and I each got two sushi rolls - I got the salmon skin roll and the tuna roll. Both were good! Their dinner menu is kind of pricey though. They didn’t have bento boxes which was actually what we were originally there for (they do for lunch though).
Good foods and VeryGood Servers ‼
I came here with a big group without a booking. Even though they were busy they found a way to get us in with minimal waiting. The staff are excellent and the food is amazing. Everyone on our table was served within minutes of each other. The stairs are fun after sake lol. The restrooms were clean.
Their set lunch is amazing...so fresh especially the Takara box. For the price of $13.95, you get a full set of tempura, 3 good size of California roll, salad and a choice of chicken teriyaki, pork or salmon and it comes with a side of rice and soup. They closed for lunch at 2pm and reopens at 6pm
Ordered a 3-set meal including fried oyster, tonkatsu and shioyaki sakana. Was pleasantly surprised by the portion. While I cannot comment on the sushi, this restaurant is definitely in the reasonable price range for entries, and the quality is comparable to some that I’ve had in Japan. I didn’t hav
We eat at Takara more than any other place in the Japan Center. They have good food at a reasonable price. I think that the lunch box - tempura, California roll, your choice of entree, salad, and miso soup - is the best deal on the menu. We did have a glitch in service the last time we went. A chir
Tommy so cool and friendly. Sushi was amazing. Glad to see people success.
This place has really really fresh sushi!! I'm pretty sure this is the most authentic Japanese place I've ever been to. The place is a little on the pricier side, but given the food, it's definitely worth it! Highly highly recommend this place!!
I only wish I could remember all of the dishes and Japanese names for them. I have to believe that this is as authentic and original as it gets--even in J-town. We had some Japanese sweet potato dishes with tuna and a quail egg that you blend up and slurp--awesome. We had sake soup with baby clam
