OMG! A great ssmple of Italian hospitality and cuisine. 👨‍🍳
Due to the long wait, they comped me an extra glass of wine.
This place rarely has available seating but I chose to sit outside under a heat lamp which helped to keep the cold at bay.
The starter salad was well seasoned and the Parmigiana was perfectly seasoned.
We come here all the time. The service is great. Anne makes the best margaritas, the house salad and the dressing are the bomb, meat balls were really good yesterday, the grilled chicken breast was really good to, great gal serving tables names Rachel.
Home. That is how I would describe Sodini's. We were seated quickly, the bread and water arrived shortly thereafter. We scrambled to make our decisions and the waitress sensed our rush. She then sat down with us and began to talk with us about why we were there and our timing. Then said, no need to rush, the table is yours. Let's order some drinks and then we will work on dinner!!! Holy smokes, did that just happen?! Her recommendations were fantastic, the service was impeccable and the overall evening was a smashing success! Did I already say the food was amazing?!!! We were there on July 4th with our 2 daughters. Can't wait to go back. Make sure you have the tortellini carbonara, the Veal and an Elizabeth Taylor (cocktail). Absolutely incredible!!!!
Absolutely delicious authentic Italian dishes. The gorganzol cheese is amazing. Revisted tonight 6/15/23, and it was as Delicious as ever. Our group of 5 loved every dish. Still a locals place a 5 star service and food. 12/27/2023.

Went on a Saturday at 6 p.m., no wait and plenty of seating available both inside and outside. Got the menus, water, bread and butter soon enough. Had bruschetta, house salad, chicken parm, and seafood linguini. All food was good, and big portions. Would go back.
This place feels like the North Beach Italian restaurants of my youth.
Wonderfully warm and welcoming staff.
Very generous pours of wine. And plenty of food on your plate.
I wish I'd been able to eat here 2-3 times, but I was visiting on business.
Loved this place! A hidden gem in Little Italy. Walking in you feel like this is an old school Italian home. Family photos on the wall, locals at the bar, and an open kitchen for you to watch. I can’t even tell you the last time I saw a restaurant staff laughing with each other and be so attentive with their guests.
The food was amazing. I had the linguine with clams. It was creamier than I was expecting and that was not a bad thing. The dish was full of clams and flavor! My wife had meatballs and minestrone soup. Both were very uniquely homestyle. I wasn’t a fan of the meatballs but everyone else loved them. The garlic cheesy bread was fabulous and the service was superb. Would definitely go back if for nothing else but the vibe or family!
The cliches aside, this Red Sauce North Beach Classic is top notch. The owner greeted me and after a brief wait I was able to score a slot at the bar. A chilled martini was the perfect starter before diving into one of the best veal scallopini I have experienced. A side of spaghetti with super bright and fresh tomato sauce eventually mixed with the rich veal reduction and created perfection. Incredible atmosphere and professional service. Love this place.
Absolutely beautiful atmosphere and the food was to die for. I've never enjoyed linguine and clams like I have here. This was one of my favorite eats in San Francisco ❤
The tortallini carbonara was delicious! Creamy mushroom sauce was very flavorful. The tortallini was cooked well, mostly even texture throughout. Next time will definitely try the gnocchi.
Great outdoor patio dining area. They have all these cute little grape fairy lights hanging above you. Jazz piano playing at the gallery across the street. Very nice ambiance. Didn't get to sit inside the restaurant but the front entrance gushed with lively energy from inside
Love the food. We had pasta and was of good quality. I would have more tomato sauce on linguini with meatballs but they were tasty nonetheless. Shame they do not offer puddings though. Service was attentive, friendly and fast. Love the decor. Would go back for some good Italian food. We spent $60 for water, glass of wine, bread and two pasta dishes.
We were visiting some friends in San Francisco and they said this was their favorite spot in Little Italy. Being Italian myself I had some high standards and they were met! Really good homemade style Italian food, friendly service, and a distinct and fun atmosphere make this a winner. We’ll be back!
Seafood linguini was delicious. Pasta carbonara was rich and yummy. The rack of lamb was overcooked and bland. The wonderful server seeing my dismay sent it back. The second try was better, but still not worth the $44 price. The pesto pasta was ok but nothing special. House salad and Caesar salad were both good. Authentic American Italian feel.
Ignore the garbage review from two weeks ago. Yes there is a credit card charge of 4%, but it is clearly stated in multiple places and on the front of the menu. If the reviewer found the food so unacceptable, did they mention even trying to resolve it with the kitchen? It smacks more of a spiteful hit piece.
The food and drinks are excellent and the atmosphere is dark, intimate, and authentic - very old school. The staff are exceptional and went above to help us celebrate our daughter’s 20th birthday.
An amazing meal. I had the veal scaloppini. It tasted just like the way my mom used to make it. My husband had the Gorgonzola gnocchi and it was so creamy an d beyond delicious. Thank you “Hilton Michael” for recommending this family owned business. The food was brilliant.
Very busy restaurant. Lots of locals. A lot of the guests I saw walking in shook hand with the Maître D which is always a good sign.
Seevice was really fast and friendly.
I ordered the totellini carbonara. They tasted great although they were not carbonara: there is no cream and mushroom in a carbonara! I was a bit disappointed by that because their signage claim they have been open for over 100 years…
Phenomenal food and service. The pesto gnocchi is the best I’ve ever had. I highly recommend coming here and getting the gnocchi!
The food was good. The minestrone soup had a tomato base that was really good. The chicken sodin was good, was like an open face chicken cordon bleu. Staff was great, on a sunny day was great to seat outside.
