Japantown is a stop you don’t want to miss, especially touring this mall in which you can find a variety of Japanese cultured gifts, treats, entertainment, and foods. It was very crowded here on a rainy weekend with a vibrant, youthful, communal-like atmosphere. Stores were welcoming but also cautioned people not to touch/play with items as in the past there has been stealing or broken items (pls be aware & respectfully read the signs). There was one side of the mall that was less developed - wish we could see more stores or restaurants being brought in. The building itself was a bit rundown and I hope to see the mall renovate its general, main hallways to accommodate the expansion & vision of the surrounding their stores & restaurants.

AMAZING. So many different stores with unique items to explore. This center has everything in one spot- from food, to stationery, to appliances!! Enjoy window shopping/ buying cute souvenirs for pretty cheap! (In some stores) There is also authentic food, make sure to try that. ❌ There is no parking actually near the center… but its not that hard to find a parking garage nearby. Many tourist attractions nearby, like the 5 layered pagoda structure, torii (traditional japanese red gate), and many more! So stop on by with some friends, and it will definitely keep everyone entertained for the whole day!

I love this town even after 25 years since my 1st visit. Food is good and a lot of variety. The adjacent hotel is so beautiful and friendly.

A MUST see in San Fran. Beautiful plaza connecting two halves of this huge indoor mall. SO many fun Japanese shops and restaurants, you can come back again and again just to try different foods!

Exploring a tranquil Christmas at Japan Center in SF. Half the restaurants are open, half closed, creating a unique blend of festive and serene vibes. #ChristmasSF #JapanCenter 🎄🏮

Whent they're on a weekday. Japan, town was very busy. A lot of easy, fast food places to eat inside. A lot of old remnants of Japan. A little difficult in finding a parking spot.

Its December 2023 and after living in the Bay Area for over 10 years this was my first time at the Japan Center. Had driven by many times but never went in. What a great surprised I had. I cannot believe how is that I’ve missed it. Quite cool place to go shopping for anything Japan related. There is good restaurants, anime, books, bars etc. Saw a few people cosplaying, dressed up as anime characters, which is entertaining. Nice way to spend a Saturday afternoon. Will try to come back during cherry blossom season or any special event. Highly recommend.

Main shopping center in Japantown. The center has two sides east and west. We came after the pandemic hit and we saw the aftermath. Many of the shops were closed down. But we were still able to shop at the other stores that were able to remain open. We also had lunch at one of the restaurants inside. There are a few to choose from depending on what you looking to to eat. Sushi, ramen, curry and more. On the east side of the mall where Daiso is you'll find this cute bridge and fountain underneath. They also have also model displays out of buildings and clothing. It's definitely worth the walk here if you are staying outside of Japantown.

As an Easy Asian People. I was a little disappointed. But it's still cool to hang out here. There are a lot of teenagers. Young men. Some Japanese restaurants have not too much choice. The parking lot is enough to park. It is not so Japan now.
