Perhaps the best, most moist lamb shawarma wrap ever is made here. The wrap came with these seasoned.. pita chips? Quite enjoyable and unique. Hummus: v tasty. Loved the current local art (for sale!) on the walls too.. like a gallery. I wanna say the cashier and cook might be.. twins? At least brothers? Related. Maybe next time I’ll ask.
The owner was very nice. Place was very clean. The lamb schwarma and the gyro were cooked perfectly. The baklava we had for dessert was delicious.
Best Mediterranean wraps in SF, they've been around 20+ years for a reason. Gyro wrap & Chicken wraps very flavorful, owners are great! Huge portions and not expensive.
The falafel deluxe wrap is so good. The crusty hot sauce on the table is SO good.
Though this is a tough title to earn from me, it’s probably the best Mediterranean food I’ve ever had, at least the best in the Bay. I want to eat the hummus with every meal!
Spacious old school non corporate cafe with food and an espresso machine and bathrooms. Only 4 stars because they have not switched to bio straws and cups yet but they have glass where and seating.
I live nearby and this is my favorite food in the neighborhood. I always order the gyro plate and it sooooo good! Everything is fresh and really flavorful. My husband loves their sandwiches. You can't go wrong here. Something for everyone.
Really great place to grab a quick bite or sit down and enjoy a coffee or beer. Lots of options for food-probabky some of the best Greek food I have had! Staff were very friendly and nice. Decent selection of beer, coffee and of course food. Got a Greek Salad and Meat Plate. Both very good.
The Blue Front Cafe is the building with the blue genie you see in Upper Haight. The food here is never disappointing, especially with the Mediterranean sauces they use. The food is good quality and the proportions are worth the cost. I've always been impressed with how friendly the staff is, which is probably the one thing I remember most. It's never too busy either so there's no long wait unlike some of the other places in the Haight.
Food: Very good food. I love Mediterranean food. It's authentic alright!
Ambiance: Its good for Haight and Ashbury, it fits right in, not too fancy or pretentious. Comfortable laid back feeling, just not as clean or polished as fancier restaurants. Besides, I don't think they were going for that anyway!
Service: We bussed or own plates when we were done since we didn't know if we were supposed to leave the plates or not. But the owner at the register was hella funny and my initial impression of the jovial guy was very positive.
Overall, great experience for my first time there. Definitely would go back.
Been coming here since I was a kid. Great food (avocado melt with everything on a sourdough roll is my favorite next to the Mediterranean plate; I also like the veggie bagel on sesame or seedy bagels), great coffee (their latte is my favorite), and an overall fantastic place.
Really good food, best wrap i've tasted. The services was very kind. 100% recommended
The food is always exceptional with an extensive menu. So glad I found their menu online ad it's hard for my challenged eyesight (even with glasses due to mal-formed macula) to read on their distant blackboards. They were out of printed menus when I requested one. It's a busy place and I was fortunate to find seating. It's my favorite eatery whenever I'm in the area.
Cool decor, lovely pleasant owner. Delicious food: we had a filling, freshly prepared lunch and were able to relax for a little while. Great variety of food. Definitely will be back!
Pretty good food (I had the chicken and waffle sandwich) and friendly staff. Although the power did go out while we were in there, and we noticed before the staff did. And a lot of very loud street performers just strolled right in.
A cafeteria ambiance suffuses the seating area of this primarily Mediterranean cafe. The staff is warm and courteous. The service was a little slow when I went here during non-meal-normative hours on a weekend afternoon.
Finding a Reuben on the menu of a Mediterranean restaurant is a little peculiar, but they do a pretty good job of it.
