The spice jar The spice jar is a solid place for Asian food of all kinds. The menu has a great variety of dishes and everything is really good. The prices range between 13 and 19 dollars per dish, depending if you go for lunch or dinner. Everything has the right amount of spice and flavor. I definitely will keep checking them out for their awesome dishes.

I live in the neighborhood and neglected this spot for far too long because it doesn’t get as much buzz as some of the other spots in the mid/south mission corridor. But it deserves more hype!! Delicious noodle soups, and extensive reasonably priced sake menu!

Homemish atmosphere with delicious Asian Californian fusion. Generous portions, very nice service, and good value. Lovely broccoli tempura, great calamari salad, and Mongolian beef wok. Pork ramen was closer to Malaysia style, just sadly with hard boiled eggs.

Casual corner depot perfect when in the mood for Asian, but not quite decided on cuisine. Clever interior, with a few outdoor tables. Laksa noodle soup, authentic — a surprise especially considering ramen shares a place on menu. Great for walk-in lunch, weeknight dinner or non-committal first date.

Delicious Asian fusion comfort foods. Pork belly baos were out of this world; crispy calamari salad was excellent; and chicken and shrimp laska noodle soup; and 7 spices salmon was just okay, a little on the dry side.

Super rich, super tasty East Asian comfort food. Nothing healthy about this joint but ingredients are fresh and the flavor is on fleek. The menu is fairly compact but in a very good way, a diversity of choices but no decision anxiety from a multi-page menu. We started with the pork Shu-Mai which were solid, very well prepared but not epic. Same for the crispy spring rolI, they were a bit pedestrian. The mains and sides were the 4-star caliber dishes: we went with the Spinach and Roasted Garlic Fried Rice (strong in flavor, only for garlic lovers), the Mongolian Chicken which was super savory and a tad too rich but overall pretty epic in flavor, and the garlic green beans which had the right balance of garlic and sweetness and salt were also the bom dot com. Service was friendly but the dishes were staggered in an non-ideal way, apps came out together but then there was about a 20 min wait after we finished those before our first entree came out (the fried rice), and then another 10 mins before the other two dishes (chicken and green beans) came out.

First time trying The Spice Bar and it was delicious! We ordered the calamari salad, garlic noodles, and the tempura Brussel sprouts. The flavors in every dish were perfect.

So we love this place and order from it a couple times a week. We are partial to the garlic green beans, hanger steak mushu and calamari salad. It's fresh, travels pretty well and and we love the flavors.

Went for early dinner. Service is good. Spritz is nice. I would skip the Bao, it was too dry. Laksa was delicious, just wish it had more chicken. There were only very small shreds. Lastly the beef ramen was yummy, it was just missing spice.

Great food and friendly service! Probably the best food we had during our trip to SF. Also lots of vegetarian options.

Delicious and reasonably priced for San Francisco, post-pandemic/world wide inflation. Chicken katsu was perfectly tender with a curry sauce that's not salty.

I got the salmon and it was great. Came on a sunday early evening and it was very quiet, not busy. The service was great too!

Great place with fast and great service! Loved the veggie gyozas (crispy and hot) as well as the Korean chicken wings (very saucy)! For entrees we got the 7 spice salmon, fried rice, garlic noodles, shrimp curry w/noodles, and Mongolian beef! Favorites were definitely the salmon with green raita, garlic noodles, and the fried rice!

I had the curry chicken with rice and veggies. A simple dish but so flavorful and everything was cooked perfectly. The chicken was crispy yet juicy, the curry was DELICIOUS and the veggies were pickled in a sweet vinegar. Great meal with generous portions!!

Tried the fried rice and the Mongolian beef. Great portion sizes. Both dishes were really good but pretty salty for my taste 😬 the atmosphere is really chill, and the staff are friendly and attentive! I would love to go back to try some of their other things.

Compact spot with great ramen. The pork ramen was better than the seafood/squid ink ramen, and the takoyaki was a great starter.
