Was looking for a place to eat near our hotel and found this place; warm, friendly, and inviting; great food without any false pretense. Where to go if you're a good person looking for your place.

Scrambled eggs with cream cheese are DELICIOUS! Most of other food is typical of a diner. Services was a little slow but staff was super nice and accommodating.

Sunday morning breakfast at David's was pretty good. They had a bar stool for BF orders, I had a 3 omelette - mushroom cheese. Came with bread, hash brown & tea. The omelette had generous dose of mushrooms.

The turkey sandwich was huge. Colleagues had the chicken and meatloaf specials and raved about the flavor. Pastry counter was enticing.

We went for breakfast. This is a family owned restaurant, not super busy, but it should be. The food is really good and reasonably priced. The staff was very friendly and attentive. If you are in Union Square, add this place to your dining experiences.

We were supposed to go to ANOTHER place for breakfast, but with queue out the door and feeling the hangryness building up we decided to go to the closest possible place. I have to say; I’m so happy it was DAVID’S! This is an old style diner, and here you’ll find one of the last round counters in the West! As amazing that is in itself it does not match the staff! Such lovely ppl… wow… We came into talk and they told us about some of the history to this place. It opened in 1952 and the owner was a Holocaust survivor. The neon sign you can see inside, the menu with the wooden letters up on the wall is all original from the opening. So, the food. Yes, it was great. The hash brown could be a tad more on the crisp side and the coffee was a bit bitter, but the bagel, pancake and croissant was super good! The glasses could’ve been cleaner, so ask for a straw. Everything added up: I can really recommend this cozy, vintage diner!❤️

David's Delicatessen is a great Establishment! I've visited this tasty restaurant many times over the last 30+ years. It's fantastic after a matinee or before an evening theater performance, often seeing the cast catching a bite there as well. With a shortage of decent Deli's in the Bay Area, it's good to know that David's has been there and will continue to make Great food at decent prices with great service.

This is an excellent place. It does not look very good from outside and interior needs a refurb. But the food is absolutely amazing I had toasted sandwiches at lunch Breakfast I had matzo egg. Super tasty. Please salmon cream cheese bagel and pancakes The food and service is 10 out of 10. My friend who was with me loved the food so much. Its the first time I have seem him enjoy the food and not use his phone or laptop. He is normally terrible company.

We can't say enough great things about this place. The food, staff, and atmosphere is immaculate. Made us feel right at home as we were in SF. Food was insanely good, fairly priced for their portions, and above all our waiter was probably the best ans nicest man we have ever met. Can't say enough great things about this place! Wish we would've came here everyday for every meal. Highly recommend.

If you want 'old school' this is the place to go. Although it was quiet the first time we went in, it got busier each day. Food is 'top' and plenty of choice. The coffee is free flowing and ice water offered. Service is super friendly, strongly recommend.

Breakfast was better than averageand the service was excellent. Went with a friend who customized a sandwich that wasn't offered. They absolutely delivered, even the extra crispy bacon. Charming waiter, good food in a casual spot.

Came here late at night for breakfast, and the staff were super cool. Small place, comfy, roomy booths with large tables. Our breakfast was perfect. We had the usual eggs, pancakes, hashbrowns & bacon.

Had a pleasant experience here this morning. Atmosphere was great—traditional pop music (easy listening), solid food. Ordered the chocolate chip pancakes which were quite good, included a side of fresh fruit. Server was very kind—free coffee refills, offered me a coffee-to-go after I paid the bill. Not quite sure it is a true kosher deli as there are several items on the breakfast menu that include bacon, as well as a sign on the wall that reads, “When in doubt, add bacon.”

Lunch counter from my grandparents' era. Tastes like it, looks like it, feels like it, in all the ways that matter, good and bad. Food and service are inconsistent, but that's actually what's made me fond of all my experiences with Dave's; it's averaged a solid 4 so far.

Good basic breakfast with many deli options, excellent service and reasonable prices. Open lunch and dinner too. Omelets were fluffy french style and options like pastrami or corned beef were available along with stuffed French Toast.

Food was perfect, and a decent size. I didn't like the coffee, it tasted burned. Staff was really friendly and atmosphere is perfect, especially when you sit at the bar. The restrooms could be cleaner, but they are still ok.
