Hands down the best sandwiches in the city and I ll stand on that! The quality of the fresh bread from Boudins and the amount of unique sandwiches on the menu helps them stand out. I love the rotisserie chicken and the rotating specials.
Prices range from 13 to 16 dollars but they’re big portions. The guys behind the counter are nice, don’t listen to the awkward encounters in previous comments below. Highly recommend trying if you’re ever on Polk.
After just pulling in from a run down to places best forgotten I spotted my old pal Hardis Arock dip into The Boy's Deli, a quick check for pedestrians gave me the green light to park on the sidewalk, so I did just that. Certain procedures for parking on sidewalks need to be followed, so you don't get towed, such as putting out a couple of orange cones, leaving the tailgate open and leaning a shovel against the driver's door, once I did those things, I was all in. The Boy's Deli was a first for me, so I let Hardis order for me, the sandos were amazing. ☆☆☆☆☆
Boy's Deli won me over with its killer sandwiches. The team's passion for good eats is evident, and the menu delivers tasty, straightforward goodness. Fantastic spot, no frills – just a solid choice for a satisfying meal.
Place is nice, clean, and friendly. In a lively street with so much to do. Sandwiches are made in the back of the shop and in the meantime you can grocery shop. They are bilingual and speak Spanish if needed. The sandwich is made in front of you with fresh ingredients. You can also watch sports while you wait.
Great sandwiches! Variety of options and creative combinations. Of the ones I’ve tried, the sand lot is my favorite! Of course better fresh or ask for it without tomatoes if getting it ahead of time for later.
The first time I tried it, we ate the sandwiches a couple of hours after we bought them. The bread was soggy, and it was hard to eat. Wasn’t sure if I like it, but tried it again and ate it within 30 minutes of grabbing it - so good!! Now I crave it whenever we plan a park day.
The call ahead wait time on the weekends especially can be long. I recommend just going in and ordering at the counter.
I tried a veggie sandwich from this spot and it was just ok. The best part about it was the dutch crunch bread which was super crunchy, the quality of the stuff inside didn't seem worth the coins. The guys running the deli were great though very kind and attentive.
The Boys’ Deli is at the back of Polk Street Market shop, perfect for a quick shop and getting a bite to eat!
The team were super helpful in suggesting subs to eat and kindly let me try Hot Copped (managing by the way!)
Recommend The Boys’ Deli if you’ve been on your feet all day and exploring the city!
boys deli is the premier sandwich spot of San Francisco. large subs, premium meats, tons of sandwich options, and a variety of toppings and bread selections.
Boys >> molinari’s, lucinda’s, rhea’s ike’s, freddie’s
pro tip: order ahead
The sandwiches here are great. Awesome staff, pretty nice atmosphere and cool beverages to choose from. Overall best deli sandwiches I’ve ever tasted.
I had the SanGranPsycho and all I can say is ah-maz-ing! It has a little kick to it but nothing overpowering. The people there were cool as hell, too. This is my new spot.
