Wonderful lunch
Saw half a dozen SFPD officers go in. Followed them, because we figured they knew the area and the place. Had Cesar salad and sweet potato fries. Outstanding. Great food, friendly people.

Great fresh food. But be prepared to eat. They give you a lot. Especially if you order a salad. Basically you make your own sandwich or salad.
I love the concept of Pluto's---tell them what you want and build a salad. It's pretty standard, what-you-see-is-what-you-get. Nothing fancy. But it's decently priced, healthy, really tasty, and doesn't require waiting in line for a year and a half like many places in the city. Get a salad to go and eat it in the park, if you're feeling oh so adventurous.
In person take-out 4/1/2021. I'm glad Pluto's is opened again. I used to eat at their University Ave. location in Palo Alto at least twice a week for lunch before COVID. I usually get what they are famous for, which is their salads, sandwiches or soups. But today, I wanted to try their cheeseburger with curry fries for $13. It was pretty groovy. What made it was special was their pink sauce. It had a bit of a kick to it. I will definitely come back if I'm in the mood for a salad with fresh toppings. Great job cheeseburger chef/cashier!
Good soup and good sandwich. They were quick and the prices were okay. The cashier and workers were all super friendly. We had the clam chowder which was really high quality. I was a big fan of the meatballs on the sub. Parking was limited so we did have to park down the street, just a word of warning.
This place is amazing. I've lived here for 2 weeks and have been here 4 times. Great food and we'll worth the money.
Cool theme, like the separate ordering stations as well. Main dish was will prepared, side items lacked flavor.
Popped in off the street for a sandwich and salad, LOVED IT. Thai Chicken Salad was well portioned, great ingredients - I think it’s hard to find a good salad sometimes and Pluto got it right. The Turkey Sandwich was also so delicious, will definitely be back for it. Service was fast, friendly, give it a try!
Great build-your-own sandwiches and salads. The staff has always been happy to see me and happy to help. The desserts are divine. The Mac and cheese has gotten better and is super delicious!! I always order the brussel sprouts. 💚👍🏼
Big, big salads, garnished with fresh grilled meat (if you want) made-to-order with your choice of veggies. Also, made-to-order grilled meat sandwiches. Under $20 per person for lunch. Busy lunch crowd. Clean environment. Successful concept.
Fair amount of options to choose from and easy to customize your own salad or stick to a prearranged salad. Price is reasonable for it being made as you order and the amount of toppings you can add. A side salad is a nice portion for a lunch option that isn't too much, but just right.
Local build-your-own salad and sandwich spot with planetary decor. The portobello and goat cheese sandwich is delicious!
Great place for lunch with friends or by yourself! I really like making my own salad, but they’ve change the menu up a bit. If you’re ordering a side salad, you only get 5 toppings (and much less lettuce than before). If you order a main salad, then you get 7 toppings. Before it used to be 7 toppings for both and the side salad was enough to fill be up. I usually order a main salad now since the side salad is much smaller since the menu change. They messed up my order once and they remade the entire order. If that’s not excellent customer service then I don’t know what is.
Love the ability to make my own salad and choose the toppings to make it exactly to my liking. Great place for a picky eater. The ordering can be confusing to someone who hasn't been here before but after you go a few times you get the hang of it. I get the Tri tip on my salad and it is always cooked to perfection. The Lunar dip is also a favorite with the onion rings or fries of course.
I go here when I want to spend less than $10 and eat on the healthier side. I've been here over 30 times and tend to lean toward a customized salad with meat (white meat turkey or steak). I like mixing farmers greens and spinach. Can't go wrong with Balsamic salad dressing. The sandwiches are good too. The service is iffy when crowded and the ordering system is complicated for newbies. Beyond that, it's one of the better deals in San Francisco. P.S. - During Thanksgiving, it's one of my favorite places to order a Turkey Dinner for a big group!
The "build your own salad" option is my favorite, and I love their steak. Their hot sandwiches are also great, and this is a good place for getting food to bring to Golden Gate Park for a picnic. Sometimes the line can get quite long, but it moves relatively quick.
Best. Salads. Ever. I love this place! They custom-make a salad for you and it is always wonderful! I don't know why it turns out so much better than when I make my own at a salad bar but it always does. I've heard the other food is good too, but I can never pass up the salad!
I love not being overcharged for a salad or sandwich. It’s easily something that I could make at home, but when you’re on the go, these meal choices should not be expensive. This place has big portions, great prices, and healthy options. An overall win for me.
They have great food here, just a couple of weird issues. Service to pay is often very slow and the door doesn't close well letting in the cold inner sunset fog. Put these two together and you're guaranteed cold fries.
I went in the morning and this place was clear and easy to navigate around. The mashed potatoes are great and so is the meat selection. I got roast beef on sourdough and the combination was out of this world. Add some pepper jack cheese and you have yourself a masterpiece.
