A mother-daughter duo running this little establishment of 8 counter seats handling all dine-in and take-out orders, pretty impressive!
Have always seen a line outside in the past, but I happened to pass by just when they were about to open this time and was really lucky to get in the first roundš„³
Sitting at the counter and seeing the food being made right before you was a nice experience, but if you donāt want to wait then getting it to-go or calling ahead (for to-go orders) will drastically cut down your wait timeā±ļø
I got the Yamo House Noodles with beef and the Samusas. Loved both of it - the flavor, the texture, everything. By the way, itās a cash-only place, so make sure you have cash on you when you comešµ
Hidden gem in SF.
Go here if you want bang for your buck, homely and authentic food.
You need to adjust your expectations for sure but wonāt be disappointed.
Created out of love by the mother and daughter duo.
We had the house noodles with chicken and samusas, both were delicious and really good for the cheap prices. Service is friendly and efficient. Thereās not much space to sit and is cash only.
No frills hole-in-the-wall gem of SF. Love the 2 ladies in there whenever I'd be eating there with my friend.
There is no way to make reservations, you just have to come there and stand in line until it is your turn. There's only 8 seats in there, so you can't bring a big party to eat there.
Their menu is very small -- but you always know: a small menu = top notch food.

There are only two people working there. If you are in a hurry, just skip this place. They cook as they take your order. Your waiting time could be easily around 45 minutes.
If you want to eat cheap and good and have some spare time, this is the place.
The place is VERY SMALL. Workers are nice.
Would definitely come back.
Is a cash only place.
As Sep 2023 / $8 the main dishes and $5 appetizers.
Super tasty little spot. Staff is friendly and efficient. Place is tiny so prepare to wait. Def worth the wait. Prices are super cheap. Loved the tea salad and garlic noodles. Donāt miss the chili sauce!
Arrived around 7pm on a Wednesday, there was a short line outside for seats but we wanted to order to-go anyway. We placed our order and about 15-20 min later it was ready! The Yamo House Noodles are the way to go if you love noodles and garlic. Tea Leaf Salad is also yummy but spicy (but like kid spicy - not actually spicy if youāre someone who eats hot stuff). Also, Iāve seen some other folks say the service is bad but nah, itās not. Theyāre two ppl trying to feed folks at the counter, fulfill to-go orders and call-ins. They just being as efficient as possible.
I got the house noodle w/ beef $8, and I love how garlicky it is. A good portion, very very decent for the price. You canāt really go wrong if you just need some good cheap eat in SF.
Awesome, delicious, cheap. The only place in the nabe with a line and the wonderful sassy lady taking orders knew the people near me waiting for food with names like āSisterā and āBreakfastā. These people were regulars and some of them even knew each other from their regular patronage. Got the garlic noodles with chicken and they were so yummy. Worth the wait and a fun discovery experience. Check out the art alley nearby.
If youāre looking for an authentic inside-your-moms-kitchen experience this is the place. Waited on line for a bit but weāll worth it. Food was delicious, freshly prepared in front of you and full of flavor. Prices are dirt cheap. This place was amazing.
Very tasty food in a cute and tucked away restaurant. The prices are amazing and the owners have a lot of great personality. I can't wait to become a local here, but do know there are very few seats so you will likely have to wait. Make sure to try the house noodles, they are so yummy!
Yamo was recommended to us by quite a fancy restaurant outside the city. The idea of a Burmese hole in the wall caught my attention. Yamo offers a simple menu with noodle, house, and curry dishes. They are also very cheap and good for a large meal or take out.
Solid food, filling portions.
We came around 7pm on a Wednesday and there were 2-3 parties before us. The workers inside were super nice, and they clearly had been part of the community for a while since they greeted so many familiar faces.
The wait for our order was a little long--about 30 minutes, but you could see that they were cooking this stuff fresh. We tried the house noodles with beef, house noodles with tofu, and tea leaf salad.
The noodle dishes were solid--wish they were more saucy, but the proteins (beef and tofu) were really tasty. It came with a ton of noodles packed in. It was definitely more of a carb-heavy dish. I'd skip the tea leaf salad next time. It wasn't very unique or aromatic, and was pretty spicy.
Overall, a good convenient meal. I'd love to come back and try their other (very inexpensive!) dishes, but will call ahead to order next time.
Yamo is an extremely affordable spot in the Mission! I ordered the Yamo House noodles and once I added plenty of my own chili oil and sesame dressing, it was great! Without the additions to the dish itās a bit bland. I also had the mango chicken and it was pretty good, nothing to write home about but definitely worth getting again! Iāve added a photo of their menu with an employeeās favorite dishes circled.
No frills, delicious Burmese Myanmar soul-food. Family run. Locally focused. It's like you were invited into their living room for dinner.
The one-stars have no ground.
I don't visit the Mission that much, but when I do, I always eat at Yamo. The house noodles are consistently good and filling for such a good price. Be warned that it's cash only, and it's a small place, so you'll need to be comfortable sitting closely with others as you devour their delicious food.
We have been trying our best to return to this place but it's always closed.
We finally got it today and able to order our usual dishes - samusas, house noodle with beef and mango chicken.
The price is awesome! $5 for the samusas and only $8 each for the other dishes!
Place is small with a counter for up to ten people. So if you have a big group...this place ain't for you!
Expect long line and wait times during busy periods (if they're open)!
Most fair priced noodle shop with a very bright outlook š got to say the family is A1 !
So go order the appetizer & everything on the menu because this might be my new addiction š„°
