The sandwiches are huge and loaded. Definitely worth the price. Just make sure not to wait too long to consume otherwise the bread will absorb all the sauce.
Roxie is an institution in the Balboa Park neighborhood. We used to come here back in high school for a classic liquor style sandwich. My palate has changed since then but Roxie still makes an awesome sandwich. This afternoon I had their regular size Yami's corned beef $14.69. It is corned beef, sauerkraut, swiss, thousand island on sourdough bread. This was terrific. It was a nice change of pace from the bigger Little Lucca's sandwiches I usually get. Roxie is competitive with the $20 sandwich places in SF like Flour & Water. Gourmet ingredients but without the branded logos and all-white chef's uniforms. Good job everyone at Roxie Food Center.

They got the bomb sammies here, son. No frills, all about sandwiches. They have a system; follow it and you'll be fine. Ihad the iconic Simon Special: turkey, pastrami, cheddar with the works on Dutch crunch. It was really damn good. Their Dutch crunch isn't as good as Ike's but it did the job. The system: learn the menu, be ready to order at the register and specify everything you want. They're polite but also efficient, don't waste their time. July 2015.
Got two regular sized sandwiches on dutch crunch, which were foot long subs. I can't imagine how big the large are. I've never had dutch crunch bread before and it was so satisfying to bite into. The sandwich was hot with cheese that perfectly melted and pulled as you bit away. Staff helped guide us through our order and were very courteous. Don't shy away because it's a corner store these sandwiches are 🔥🔥🔥
Hands down, the best sandwiches in the entire City, and they're some of the friendliest owners, too. They are San Francisco legends, and I'm proud to patronize them because their food is very good and delicious. Highly recommended and I try to frequent them regularly...
One of the oldest sandwich places in San Francisco good sandwiches
Breakfast special is unreal, I don’t live in Sf but each time I visit I come here just for that sandwich. The dutch crunch is one of my favorite breads for a sandwich ever
Best BBQ hot link on Dutch crunch! Was introduced to this place by my partner who grew up getting this sandwich after swim practice in high school. It's definitely the most unique sandwich that they make and something you can't find anywhere else.
Thinly sliced hot link sausage is not too spicy and great texture. You get your choice of bread and cheese, so we go for the Dutch crunch and cheddar. Comes with mayo, mustard, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles. We opt for no mayo, and add jalapenos and bbq sauce. The large is enough for two people to share. The Dutch crunch really is special. They have a secret supplier that they won't tell anyone.
It can get really busy around lunch so recommend calling in your order ahead of time. Takes about 15-20 min. Street parking is free and relatively easy to find on San Juan. When you arrive for pickup, don't stand in the sandwich line, go straight to the register and tell them you called in your order.
Best sandwich options ever!!! I have been coming here since I was a teenager so almost 30 years. They even have great choices for vegetarian sandwiches. A variety of great salads and you must try the marinated mushrooms.
