Not as fancy as Sam's next door, but we enjoyed it. 1/4 of my family members preferred the Local Diner. I ordered the french toast deluxe with 2 sausages and 2 bacon. The french toast and sausage were great. The eggs and bacon were Ok. The waffles served with fruit was good. The staff was friendly, overall good experience.

This place Really has the BEST breakfast that I have had in town!!! I LOVE All the omelettes I have tried there so far!! I have tried Popeyes, T-Rex, Philly , Louisiana hot link one!! I don't know which one is my favorite..maybe the Philly one but they were all so super yummy and I cannot wait to try more, and the service is great and they have ALWAYS been so super friendly!! Great, relaxing atmosphere there!! Definitely must try!!

We had breakfast on our way to the metro station and I'm so glad we found this place! It's so good, very affordable and portions are huge! Pancakes were so fluffy and delicious. Cashier is very nice, friendly and accommodating. We could see a lot of locals come here and are regulars, treated like family.

Cozy diner with a vast menu. I wish they stayed open later. Definitely worth a trip from any part of SF. My go to was the Waffles. They were light but fluffy and full of flavor. Good pricing for the food you get.

This Local Diner on Market Street close to Van Ness is definitely a hidden gem. They are a family run local business and open early for American style good old fashioned Steak and Eggs which was cooked perfectly and the other dish which I shared with my partner was sausage and bacon with eggs to order and choice of toast or English muffin, and also a choice of home fries or hash browns. My partner and I were starving and it was my first time going to this Diner across from the Whitcomb hotel close to 9th street on Market Street in San Francisco. Both of us weee full and happy with our selections and I highly recommend this local family owned diner for breakfast lunch or early diner. The steak and eggs was my favorite so far out of everything I tried. Will be returning and if you are visiting San Francisco AAA tourist or for a play or just visiting friends I would try this spot out in the morning or early afternoon. It gets very busy on weekends so I recommend going on a weekday is possible. The employees are nice and the restaurant was clean and the food was good! So thanks to the cooks for preparing the food and for the employees for being patient and explaining all the different items that are able to be substituted or not able to be switched around (like half and half of country potatoes and hash browns is sometimes an option-and I like to mix the two potatoes because I’m a foodie..but not available here. Luckily my partner and I always eat family style so we just shared the potatoes and I got to try both which were both very good. I’m a hash brown girl myself and always ask for them to be crispy because I like them cooked well on outside and not too tough all the way thru. Besides no subbing half of my potatoes/home fries for hash browns (most places I find will not do this so As I said before 2 people shared so it worked out anyways. I appreciate their food, friendly and efficient service and their amazing location if you happen to be in SF on Market Street. I’m giving them a 5 star rating due to overall experience and quality of food and service and recommend this diner to anyone in SF for the day or locals to at least try it and support local family yummy restaurants in the city. I will be back soon next time I’m down that way in San Francisco! Yummy and Thank you Local Diner in SF! I have a feeling I’ll be seeing you very soon! Keep up the awesome cooking and service and I’ll keep referring friends and family to you as I was referred to you myself. See you soon and Happy New Years! 2023 will be a great year and I’ll be seeing you at least once a month while I’m in SF from time to time . Take Care and Thanks again for your amazing breakfasts and friendly service! :)

Absolute best kitchy breakfast joint in the City! Huge portions of comfort food cooked perfectly- bacon, eggs, biscuits and gravy. Staff is top notch - friendly, charismatic, a true hole in the wall gem in civic center.

Had a great breakfast, after we got there it was getting busy. The guy doing so much is worth this place alone. Very nice and funny. I'm thinking he is the owner. He is good. Panfilio is the best, Thank You. Don't get me wrong, not perfect. But who needs perfect. The food was great.

I was pleased to find such a great diner a short distance from my hotel. I had a classic breakfast of eggs, bacon, potatoes and toast. The potatoes with onions and peppers were especially good. The man working the counter was productive and pleasant.

Great little breakfast place with traditional American breakfast plates. I can’t recommend the biscuits and gravy because the biscuits seemed as if they were the frozen type from a food service company but the gravy was good. I would, however recommend their omelets. The staff were very friendly and remembered us from the day before. Seems to be a place where locals go. Be prepared to order at a counter as there is no wait staff.

Had a great time here before going to a show at bill graham. Staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, food was decently priced for sf, and it was delicious. I recommend the french toast w/ fruit, and my friends were raving about the philly cheesesteak sandwich w/fries. Would come again!

Food was amazing! The owner is a nice guy, the workers are really really nice, and the food is made to your liking. Don't let the drab and drama of market street convince you that this spot isn't worth eating at. Despite it's surroundings - Local Diner is a great place to eat.

Straightforward order and eat. Order at the counter before you sit down and your meal is prepared and brought to you. I ordered the Philly omelet and everything I asked for was quick and made for a good breakfast.
