Great flavors and textures in Paleo style cusine! Great feed beef meatballs & marinara "zoodles", pesto meatballs, Cuban bowl with pork and sunflower seed risotto - yum! Would love to see clearer indications of low carb meals in the menu descriptions for keto guests. Carb counts per dish would be over the top, but a "low carb" tag would be a great start.

This place is a dream come true for those that are looking to eat at a restaurant with healthy well-made food including how it’s prepared in the kitchen. I chose Paleo for dinner here. I selected the mix and match option where you choose one protein and two sides it was about 13 bucks well worth it. The staff were super friendly super helpful and the place itself was lit beautifully with lots of sitting room and very comfortable and clean.

I loved it! I got the Cuban bowl with chicken. Huge portions...enough to feed two...and so much flavor. Best part is it was all GF and dairy free! It is so hard to find food with flavor that I can actually eat. Oh and the brownie was delectable...such a treat! <3

Delicious food. Great ambiance. Uber healthy. All the taste, but none of the heavy, unhealthy bloat that you’d think that food that tastes so good would have. Highly recommend the meatloaf sweet potato mash and the crispy brussel sprouts. You won’t be disappointed. A must visit.

Absolutely fantastic place. Warm staff members. The food is not only organic and properly sourced, but they even take into account which oils it's cooked with! I feel great knowing that the meal I get here is similar to what I'd make at home. And yes like other reviews said, you actually feel good and energized after eating here rather than #foodComa from your nearby taqueria

We were so impressed with our dinner at Kitava! In addition to being made from scratch from high-quality and clean ingredients, everything we ate was so delicious! We ordered the butternut squash hummus with yucca chips, crispy Brussels sprouts, the Cuban bowl with cauli rice and sunflower seed risotto, General Tso's chicken with cauli rice, and an almond flour cookie and dairy-free vanilla gelato for dessert. Everything was great but our favorite things were probably: - General Tso's chicken, which was crispy and perfect. All of the comfort of chicken nuggets without all of the unhealthy crap! - Sunflower seed risotto -so tasty and such a great idea for a bean replacement that neither of us had ever thought of! - Crispy brussels sprouts - now I know a lot of restaurants make something like this but often they're undercooked (no one wants raw brussles) and guarantee they're not using healthy fats to cook them like Kitava does. - Vanilla bean gelato! It's amazing and you'd never know it's dairy-free (made with cashew milk). Even better it's also egg-free which is great for those of us with egg allergies. - *Bonus: special shout out to the bottles of habanero pineapple hot sauce on each table which we wanted to take home with us (don't worry we didn't, although we made sure to add some extra to our togo boxes). Eating out can be really difficult based on food sensitivities/allergies or the conscious choice to eat higher quality food and avoid industrial seed oils, commercial meats etc, but Kitava does a great job making going out to eat stress-free (besides trying to decide what to order because you want to get everything).

Excellent. I am 100% Paleo and it’s amazing to have a full and diverse menu to select from. Yes the rumors are true, there’s a General Gao/So’s chicken dish that is out of this world. I can’t wait to go back and will be there again in a few days. Kitava comes with my highest recommendation.

Only the best goes down my gullet. Thanks to Mealmade, the best is now on demand. I don't have to worry about chugging down a bunch of weird oils. They are super transparent and I know I'm getting a super healthy meal every time. Food always comes hot and delivery is quick. Cheaper than most garbage and don't have to deal with internet trolls (looking at you, DoorDash) who mess everything up. Only wish they delivered on the weekend.

Why hasn't something like MealMade existed before now?? People/I often have this perception that healthy food can't taste good or be fulfilling, but MealMade has forever disproved that myth. I've tried maybe 10 items on the menu, and everything has been equally as good, if not better tasting than the unhealthy versions of that food......so why would you/I ever go for the unhealthy version again? Not only do I love eating it, but I also feel amazing afterwards!

Healthy & Tasty. Like actually healthy from the oils to the veggies to the meats. And actually tasty, like woah this orange chicken is better than anything I've ever eaten at a Chinese restaurant.

Great concept and very friendly boss/waiter. The food however was not as good as expected. Chicken bites a little too dry, and the rice/broccoli not warm enough

I know of no better healthy meal staple in SF! Fast service + wonderful selection of quality vegetables & proteins, consistently great preparation, generous & satisfying portions, kombucha on tap. Location at 16th & Mission offers convenience, but not scenery. Always worth the trip!

Greeted with the biggest brightest smile. Food aroma was prominent, but not obnoxious. Reviews suggested this spot was good...true to report. I ordered the chicken bowl garnished with charred broccoli, satisfied to the max. Gratitude. Only criticism: wishing it was less loud when dining in:/- ugh!!

TLDR: If you are following any kind of diet or have any allergies, this place is fantastic. If you are not on a diet or allergic to anything, you'll still find something you'll like. One of my coworkers is mildly allergic to most nuts and highly allergic to most fish. She is also trying to go on the keto diet, so she limited herself even more. It was hard trying to find a place to go with her, but she came across Kitava. It seemed like an interesting place so all my coworkers and I went to try it out. Kitava is a order up front, get a number, and take a seat place. I ordered the Cuban Bowl with the braised pork shoulder, one coworker ordered the General Tso's Chicken, and another ordered the Pesto Chicken Cobb. The order didn't take long to come out. We all ordered to go and the food came in a compostable container and with compostable utensils. My Cuban Bowl was very flavorful and everything worked together well. The meat was seasoned really well, the salad was very refreshing, and the plantains added some sweetness overall. The General Tso's chicken was coated really well with the sauce. The chicken was still juicy underneath the layer of crust. I didn't try the Cobb but my coworker really enjoyed it. The salad used mixed greens, mixed with the non-dairy dressing, making it very satisfying to eat. The pesto added a positive twist onto the usual Cobb. Overall, I like this place. Good, healthy food is not always easy to find and this place fulfills it. Everything on their menu is online as well, so you will about to see ahead of time what you can and cannot eat. My coworker with the allergies and diet loves this place and will be going back more in the future.

This place is really good, and definitely one of the best quick lunch/dinner spots in the neighborhood. I really love the israeli options on the menu, and I hope they will bring more in the future. The bowels are very filling, the kombucha is crisp, and the service is quick and easy. Looking forward to working this place into my weekly rotation.

Pros: The Sweet Plantain bowl was delicious and very satisfying. Cons: Perhaps more caloric than other salad places (I only tried the bowl mentioned above).

Delicious and healthy! Please consider preparing and serving all your 'warm' foods hot. It doesn't feel safe to eat by the time it reaches the table.

Ordered takeout with a friend. We each got the power bowl and split an order of the crispy brussel sprouts. 🥣 Power Bowl: 5/5 - So much flavor and more filling than I expected. I wish there was a little more quinoa and grains to go with all the sauce, hummus, and picked onions. There’s so much flavor I could have used the extra base, but it was great with the mixed salad too. Everything on this was delicious. 🥬 Crispy Brussel Sprouts: 4/5 - Honestly these were so delicious and the aioli was also so good and a little spicy. Only docking a star here because they were really greasy, which also made them less crispy. The taste was amazing though and it was a good portion size for the price. Overall I would definitely order these two items again. It was fast, reasonably priced, and relatively healthy. Highly recommend!

Absolutely amazing! So clean and DELICIOUS! I got the Bolognese with beef and it reminds me of Polish bigos. The kombucha on tap is yummy and refreshing! Boyfriend got the doodles with beef meatballs.

Had a great lunch here. Very lean and clean. Simple plates cooked well and reasonable prices. Portions not so large you can’t finish your food. Friendly staff and hygienic atmosphere. The pudding was a little strange almost like a gelatin and not a yogurt texture but otherwise very nice. Would come back.

When you are on a restrictive diet or just want to feed yourself with more intentionally healthy foods. Great spot! Chicken, turmeric cauliflower rice, crispy brussels, garlicky greens (red chards), and 1/2 avocado.

Tasty food, great service, and an inspiring social mission. Kitava is great! I know that Kitava uses good-quality ingredients and prioritizes community impact through their business practices. This time I got the mezze bowl with barbacoa beef (see photo). Yummy!

This is a really good, health-conscious restaurant that doesn't sacrifice flavor or creativity to do so. The menu isn't huge, but it's pretty diverse, and labelled for all sorts of dietary needs/goals. There's tons of fresh ingredients and dishes that touch on various types of cuisines. I love the overall vibe here; it's definitely somewhere you could come and socialize or get some work done if you don't mind a little background music. The staff is also awesome. Kitava is quite the lovable place!

I was looking for a healthy food place around Mission and I found this place. It was interesting to see the juxtaposition of this next to the 16th Mission BART station. Everything is below $20 but pricey compared to typical food joints around the area. If you really want a healthy meal, this is the place to go. I got a Mediterranean salad with chicken and enjoyed it very much. Service is very good.

Great food at a very affordable price (especially look at their daily special). Also try to get to the story about the owner. It’s really inspiring. And knowing that their location took over a McDonald store is a great tale to bring healthy food to the masses!
