I love this place! One of the only affordable restaurants around and the food quality is amazing as well. I was pleasantly surprised by the portion size for the price. I always get the spicy slaw and the fake chicken salad. I dont even like tofu but something about the way make it is really good. The only thing I would suggest is switching out the diet coke for coke zero, I know theyre both going to make me fat and probably give me cancer but coke zero just tastes better.
I had their fried chicken entree with potato wedges and lemonade. The meal comes with a biscuit and home salad.
Their lemonade was great. It was not overly sweet. It had the right balance of tart and sweet to it. The biscuit was nice and flaky and buttery. Their home salad was cool and refreshing.
Their potato wedges were crispy on the outside soft on the inside. It had just the right balance of seasoning to it. I also like that it was not overly deep fried. I liked the seasoning flavor of the fries.
The fries chicken is one of the best I ever had. The crispy crunchy texture is well seasoned and had just a little kick to it. The meat inside was very juicy. The meat was also well seasoned. It also helped that it seemed like it just came out of the cooker when it arrived at my table. This place does chicken well. I wish they would have a four piece chicken entree for us hungry people.
The atmosphere was vibrant and active inside. There was a very diverse group of people and ethnicities there. They had older and younger people which makes it feel like more of a community place to eat.
I highly recommend this place. Go out and give it a try.
Fantastic chicken sandwich and flavorful chips! I absolutely loved the fried chicken sandwich. The use of sage in the fries and chips is a lovely extra touch. My BF got the bone broth as a side, and it was also delicious. Honestly, it was the best fried chicken sandwich I've had in San Francisco. The balance of high-quality bread, juicy chicken, and a well-made coleslaw all united into a symphony of flavor. It's serouislyIl that good!! I've found very few places in California that make a good coleslaw, and Proposition Chicken has nailed it. Service here is quick, efficient, and friendly, too! Try this place, you will love it. I am certainly looking forward to returning.
I had an appointment nearby and was hungry after that. There ain't much restaurant that attracked me around here. Anyway I passed by this restaurant and really like the crowded atmostphere inside, so I gave it a try.
Order an entree with fried chicken. 3 pieces, 1 salad cup and 1 biscuit:
1. The fried chicken was super crispy but a bot thin, and the flavor was just okay. There were 2 sauces here but neither of them fit my taste. I think I'd enjoy the chicken more if I bring my own sauce.
2. Salad cup was served cold so eating it together with hot chicken was not really good for your teeth.
3. The biscuit is good tho.
Overalls, Basic service, price is not cheap, but the restauran is quite clean and cozy. Everything isn't bad but I don't really like it.
Honestly it was just okay. The chicken was mostly good but heavily breaded or battered, with large areas of only batter. I'm the kind of person who rarely adds salt to food given to me, but I like salt. The fries, cole slaw, and chicken were incredibly salty on the day I visited and almost made the food inedible.
On other visits I did not experience the extreme saltiness of the sandwiches or salads I have tried.
Unique concept! Tried their flipped and fried chicken sandwich. My vote goes to the flipped chicken sandwich! Fried was little chewy, probably over done. Chicken strips were pretty crisp and tender. Would definitely try them again. Will be back to try more from their menu.
The chicken is tasty, moist and well seasoned. Pleasant surprise really. The ordering system was a little clunky I thought. Would be nice to order at the counter. Anyway I ordered take out and got the signature chicken thigh with fries and grilled coleslaw and a side of Caesar salad. The salad was a disappointment I wouldn't get that again. The fries were okay but like I said the chicken was chef kiss and juicy.
Summary: Delicious food. Great service. I will absolutely be stopping by next time I'm in the neighborhood.
I ordered the fried chicken entree - biscuit and tomato/cucumber salad + an order of wedges. Everything was delicious. Yes, the fried chicken and biscuit can't rival Popeye's (don't @ me), but it was still good. The entree is a great portion for one person. The cucumber salad was so delicious. I know it's a relatively basic dish, but the cherry tomatoes and cucumbers tasted so fresh!! I was literally scraping the steel cup for everything.
Fast, friendly service. What's not to like?
I got the rotisserie chicken sandwich that also included sage potato chips. Everything was so good, the chicken super good and the chips as well even though I don't usually like chips.
The price was okay considering it's San Francisco, I paid something around 12/13$ but the sandwich was more than enough for one person
Delicious fried chicken, the best I've ever had.
An extra star as it is Gluten Free!

Try the Entree with all 3 breasts (special request), and brown sugar brussel sprouts...but being a friend or a to-go.
Tried the crispy BBQ tofu sandwich. It was pretty good in taste, however I wish it came with some sides considering the cost. It would also be nice to have some more vegetarian options.
Fantastic fried chicken. Definitely a top five overall chicken establishment in SF. Let’s start with the fried chicken, crispy well seasoned outside. Wonderfully moist and tender inside. Perfect. Along side came a expertly crafted corn muffin. I’m a big fan of old school Buffalo wings and there’s are very well done. Speaking as a 2nd place wing eating champion (18 wings in 2min). The soup had a really flavorful and fragrant broth. I also enjoyed the bite size pieces of corn puffs for the soup. Twas cereal for adults. All in all this place is a definite must order.

I found this place as a quick bite on Google maps. I like that this menu is small and it gets right to the point, they're all about the fried chicken and they even have a vegetarian option of tofu. The fried chicken is moist with a good crust. The bowl of salad is large and comes with fried chicken breast. We also got a side of Brussels sprouts and wedge potatoes. I didn't care for the slaw that came with my entree.
Amazing chicken tenders and wings prepped to a 9/10 level of taste, along heapful portions of coleslaw and chips for just $2.25 each. For $9.5, the tenders portion is a little short with only three pieces and you might think it's a little pricey. But the seasoning, meat quality, and dip make up for the initial stump.
The fried chicken breakfast sandwich with bacon and ranch was so tasty. Highly recommend
