Quiet little neighborhood sushi spot in Duboce Triangle with all around solid Japanese food. Although they didn't have everything on the menu that we wanted, we did enjoy everything we ordered, especially the rolls. Ambiance is nice, quiet, casual, and quirky, and the service is always friendly and helpful. Really like this spot for a quick Japanese food fix.
Cute sushi from this local gem! They are currently doing takeout still, and were able to prepare our order quickly. They went above and beyond to keep our pickup experience safe and sanitary.
I love the food, everything is really tasty and great quality. The staff are super welcoming and have fun. If you're lucky you'll catch a staff member playing the koto (Japanese harp). They also have an origami set at each table for your entertainment. The overall atmosphere is charming, casual, and homey. I feel like it nourishes my soul as much as my belly. It's my favorite sushi place in the city, I eat here about each month.
Great neighborhood sushi joint that always has a Sake and sushi special and solid service. If you like quality you will know the fish here is top quality, prepared correctly, and delicious. I love the line of old Sake bottles that line the top of the bar area. No issues here. Worth visiting.
Cute little place in the neighborhood with delicious, beautiful sushi. Bring your own chopsticks to get free edamame. I highly recommend this place for the sushi & great service. Get the Sushi Matsu!
They also have paper & instructions to work on your origami skills while waiting.
Cozy neighborhood sushi bar. Great selection of sushi, and they have my favorite appetizer, chawanmushi! I've been here a few times and sometimes one of the employees plays the koto during dinner hours. Service is quick and friendly.
Fantastic neighborhood sushi restaurant with quirky atmosphere, fresh fish and affordable prices. Its not a trendy place so you rarely have to wait for a table. Happy hour on beer and sake until 630, or whenever it rains outside. Chirashi is about $18.
This place was phenomenal. The service was absolutely impeccable. The fish was so fresh and delicious. Seaweed Salad was so good, I specifically didn't eat it all because I wanted more late. Sweetest staff, and the interior is so cute and clean!!! Definitely highly recommend.
Love this place! Great sushi, authentic Japanese (they even have ankimo!) and wonderful service. Super cozy ambiance. Bring your own chopsticks for free edamame.
Sushi that is both delicious and affordable, this Duboce Triangle gem was a great place for dinner. Apparently they have sake specials often, so I had a Katana for $7 at 50% off. The sake was served warm, in a traditional box cup. Beware, the seaweed salad is really big, and contains the seaweed salad that everyone is familiar with, plus regular salad, plus real dark seaweed salad. I'm glad we ordered one because it was easy to share that with everyone at our table. Edemame came with an origami box as the discard pike, which was a cute touch!
Street parking is somewhat difficult to find, but not impossible.
We stayed nearby and wanted to enjoy a quick dinner without the hassle of a cab ride. The reviews were so mixed it was hard to know what to expect. The food was delicious and the service was fabulous. We have two favorite dishes, oshinko pickles and mochi ice cream. They are both hard to find on menus, at least where we come from. Amasia had both. The rolls were very good, the prices were reasonable and we were there early enough to hear the music. I will definitely return.
Amasia is amazing. I had to say it. There is a long list of the things that set Amasia apart from other sushi places. First off, their sushi is divine. Top notch. Go if you're expecting standard sushi, there are no Philadelphia / Dragon / Caterpillar rolls here. The service at Amasia is great, they are very attentive and they usually have someone playing the koto (traditional japanese instrument) and provide small origami paper for you to fold while you're waiting for your sushi. I also recommend ordering the seaweed salad! It's generous and you get two different kinds.
A hidden gem! Very fresh fish and wonderful service.

This is how Sushi was meant to be! Very very fresh, perfectly flavored & beautiful presentation. The service is great, personal in a cozy neighborhood location. A hidden jem.
They accommodated a 14 person group with no notice.
Not too loud, good for conversations!
Lots of sake options.
Excellent sushi, nice sushi bar setup.
I had takoyaki for the first time here, so I can't compare it to anything, but I really liked it. That and the aji nigiri, and I was happy for a tasty little meal. I got the half price sake of the day, Suijin and got to drink from a square cup for the first time too
Best sushi spot in all of San Francisco. A definite neighborhood gem. If your looking for delicious, fresh sushi and great service this is your spot
