My go-to place for silky tofu and deserts. Good quality and friendly staff.
So far I've tried the egg Tarts which were delicious and three of them are only $1.75. The onion rolls are buttery while warm and very delicious. The sweet pork buns are great value as well. It's normally pretty packed with locals and some of them will cut in front of you in line if you look confused but overall it's a fantastic cheap experience if you're in North Beach area
Good cheap bakery items. Yeah they don't speak English much but it won't be a problem.

This restaurant has a variety of baked pastries to have with coffee ☕ or take home to have with tea.
I understand that their lunch menu is very good too.
This place has the most addictive salted green onion bread!! I can eat a whole box in one sitting, when I go to SF, I always have to drop by this bakery for some amazing green onion bread .
Best Bakery in Chinatown. Good price for the best quality in town.
It was fun walking into a bakery where the locals seemed to have gathered. Ordered by pointing as I had no idea what anything was called nor how to correlate it to the menu.
I chose wisely and it was delicious! I did have to run to the ATM around the corner as I realized it was cash only after ordering.
This little bakery/restaurant is on Pacific Avenue and is not in the heart of Chinatown.
They have a good menu for lunch especially bitter melon with fish slices over rice and seafood pan fried chow mein.
Their melon cookies, egg tarts, onion and oil twists, BBQ pork buns and sweet cream rolls are fresh and delicious from the bakery.
The owners are nice and provide good customer service.
I stop by with seniors occasionally to have coffee as often as possible.
Wouldn't acknowlege and post if it weren't true.
We had the Scallion Bread and it's out of this world! We tried this on our Chinatown Food Tour earlier this week. We came back before we left San Francisco to buy some to take back with us... Oh and the BBQ Pork Buns are also amazing!
I love going here for the green onion buns...simple, cheap, and delicious! The bakery is a no frills joint so I prefer to grab and go my orders. They also have several other items like egg tarts and pork buns, so it's a good stop for a snack while exploring North Beach or Chinatown.
Tried Green Onion Roll here today and it was truly great! It is normally an underlooked item in a bakery but they sure make it extra delicious with all that butter and soft bread. The Egg Tart is 3 for $1.60 now but still cheap and very good. If you don't want to bother with the long line down at the Tourist Trap, here is a good local bakery.
This review is for the pork buns only. I came here on a food tour and we got the pork buns, which were untraditional but delicious. Really large pork buns that were nice and browned on the outside but soft and fluffy on the inside. That said, the inside was much closer to bread than I think traditional pork buns are, I think because they use two different leavening agents. It wasn't what I was used to, but it was tasty nonetheless. The amount of pork inside was good and the pork was only lightly sauced, allowing the meaty flavor to really shine through. Pretty delicious, I'd come back for more.
I've been going to this place since 1999! The owner really care about the quality of their products. They use real eggs instead of powdered egg. Their pork bun is awesome!
A real local favorite on Sunday mornings (isn't that how you know it's good?). Enjoyed everything we had but our top favorites were egg custard tarts, green onion rolls and pork buns.
Great pastries and good prices. The locals go here so you know it’s good. Plus there are so many things to try and you won’t spend an arm and a leg which is a nice change from brunch everywhere else. Definitely not fancy but good
Great tasting pork buns, if you're in Chinatown you definitely need to pass by.
Delicious pork rolls and egg custard tarts! If you want local, inexpensive, and simple but delicious this is exactly what you’re looking for.
