Came here for my birthday and really enjoyed the experience!
We got our own table in the back of the dining hall so it felt really like exclusive seating - and when you show up they always have complimentary chips and salsa which is super nice.
Good:
I enjoyed the margaritas here a lot and they were almost non-alcoholic tasting so it was a great taste.
I loved the tacos here - the fish taco was the clear standpoint - a great mix of savory and just the right amount of crunch.
Bad:
I thought that the huevos rancheros weren't that special - it was a little dry actually.
There was also a beef stew that I felt was a bit too spicy.
Overall a fun birthday brunch experience, maybe next time I'll try the bottomless experience.
Decided to grab some Sunday brunch and this place did not disappoint. They offer a refined brunch menu that has 5 options each priced at $15, and the portions are nicely sized. They also are more than willing to accommodate vegetarians, which is helpful! We ordered the bottomless mimosas to start, which entails getting a bottle of champagne and a small carafe of fresh juice! That had watermelon juice this week, but the server told us it varies week to week. The watermelon juice was very sweet + sour, so I only used a bit for my first glass. You can also switch between mimosas and sangria, if you'd like to mix it up! We ordered a side of guacamole for $9 but it was a very large + yummy portion. We both ordered the bacon + cheddar scramble for our entrees and I asked for no bacon since I'm a vegetarian and they had no problem accommodating me! The ambience is very fun and inviting and all of the staff we interacted with were super nice! There's street parking surrounding the restaurant, however it's hard to come by. We luckily live close enough that we can just walk.
If you love authentic Mexican cuisine food, you gotta come here! Searched Mexican restaurants on Yelp and came across Don Pistos, the name of the business caught my attention. Yelp had good reviews so we thought to give it a try. Upon arrival we were greeted by young lady (didn't get her name) who was very friendly and sat us right away. As she gave us our menus she told us their food and drink recommendations. We ordered a michelada, tortilla soup, shrimp tacos and quesa birria tacos. All so delish and fresh!
So highly recommended. The staff are some of the most courteous and attentive staff I’ve ever had. Not to mention, as a Texan, some of the best Mexican cuisine I’ve ever had. Everything is too notch. The Hibiscus margarita was *chefs kiss* delightful. Pollo Asado tacos were phenomenal. Definitely stop by and give this place a go. It’s well worth anyones times.

Modern venue with outstanding food and service. Really good tacos and quesadillas.
However, I would suggest the option of serving 3 tacos as 2 is not enough and 4 is heaps.
I have not been to Mexico City, but this was the best al pastor taco that I have ever eaten. The carnitas burrito was also delicious. The guac was smooth and tasty. Chips had heft to them. This place earned its reputation.
Great approach to Mexican food. The queso fundido and Arrachera are as good as in Mexico and the service is polite and helpful. The Menu offers a wide variety of playes and the drinks we ordered were really good. The place is spacious with a very nice patio setup. Overall a great Mexican restaurant in the heart of SF.
Great dishes and strong drinks. Their clams and homemade chorizo plate was delicious! The spot has a nice vibe and isn’t as tourist trap like some of the other spots down the street. I’d definitely recommend it if you’re in San Fran and looking for good, authentic Mexican food
