Really good vibe, food and service.
We had a corporate event and had a private room. Loved it!
Located in the famous Westin Hotel in the downtown.
Went to dinner with coworkers our boss took us to eat here. The service was great i had a drink which was delicious. I had the lagensa but it was not the best I have ever had everyone else seemed to like what they ordered
I ate breakfast here two times during my stay in San Jose. Both times I enjoyed my meals and the lattes were excellent.
Most of all, the service was outstanding! I was greeted by a very friendly host named Abraham and was served by two wonderful people.....Alberto and Catalina! Both were extremely professional, personable and fantastic at their jobs. They truly made the dining experience terrific.
I'm glad that I had a chance to enjoy this restaurant.
We had the pleasure of attending our annual holiday gathering on Saturday at this venue for the second time. The reason we chose this place is due to the hospitable personality of Manager John and the outstanding customer service we received from our server Kyle during our last visit. Our expectations were exceeded once again this time, and we were treated to unforgettable evening.
John, on behalf of our group, I would like to express our deepest gratitude to you and your team for making our evening so special. We are already looking forward to making this venue our annual holiday gathering spot for years to come. Thank you for all that you do.
I stayed at the Westin and ate here three times (twice for breakfast and once for dinner). I really enjoyed the dinner. Nice specials, good wine and nice service.
That said, it’s just weird at breakfast. They play music very loudly for a breakfast location. It’s a very odd selection of music which doesn’t fit a breakfast setting at all. We couldn’t even talk for our breakfast business meeting. Both days I asked them to turn it down. They did (thank you), but you have to wonder why this is part of their ambience choice.
They also bunch everyone together in a very small space which is also uncomfortable. I assume many of the patrons are business clientele who prefer not to have their conversations overheard. It’s a very large restaurant. I appreciate seating people near the window but there are many options which doesn’t require them to sit right next to each other. The breakfast food is very average but has high end hotel pricing.
To be honest, breakfast is a critical part of my business travel as it often involves breakfast meetings . I will most likely stay at a different hotel in the area next time.
Just finished an amazing meal at Il Fornaio. I made a reservation a few weeks ago for my big group - we were seated right away and Jeremy made sure all my guests had everything they needed. Amazing service, fantastic ambience! So glad we chose Il Fornaio for our Christmas dinner after the Nutcracker ballet!
A large party of 11 dined at Il Fornaio within the historic Saint Claire / Westin property for a birthday party. The wait staff, especially Kyle, was super attentive and made for a great evening. Food was excellent and atmosphere at Christmas time was amazing.
It’s a great place in the Sanjose downtown. Food is really good.
Also really good for office lunches
I've eaten here 3 nights in a row while staying at the Westin for business. Meals have been excellent. The menu is diverse and there are plenty of excellent dishes to try. Wine list is extensive with several options and all staff have been attentive and provided great service. Highly recommend to anyone in downtown San Jose.
It is my 2nd time to eat at Il Fonaio. I always order steak and it never fails to satisfy me. My wife ordered chicken and it tastes good as well. The chocolate cake was so good but ofcourse anything sweet is good. Customer service is great. The only concern I have is that they didnt automatically provide the steak knife knowingly that you ordered a steak. About parking you can park in front of The Westin Hotel for Valet. Less than 6hrs is $25.
This place is so generous!
Crispy Calamari , pasta is so texture , dessert also is great !
Recommend make reservations first !!
I will return again for a great place to have dinner for any occasion.
Well priced for a fancy hotel restaurant and beautiful architecture. And... The restaurant was really slow and they were close to closing and they treated us so well and with no sign they wanted to turn and burn us and kick us out to close. Such a relief for us.
Staff is extremely nice and attentive. We came to dinner at 9:30 pm and the place was almost empty already and they treated us like we were the first customers of the day. So nice when it's been a long day and we just need to eat out and not cook at home.
Dinner plates were excellent for the price. The appetizers are too expensive. They are as much as the meals, didn't realize the difference it made until checkout.
Again, you should go and I will return with friends and family.
Breakfast was finally served! Early morning breakfast service can be a bit slow as most staff don't arrive until after 9am. I mentioned to Westin hotel management, and they said they would address it.
Breakfast came as requested and cappuccino was perfect. I'll be back soon to stay and offer update!
Had a wonderful Sunday dinner. I got the tortelloni di zucca while others at the table all got the paccheri alla vodka. We got a bottle of wine, some got cocktails, and then a few of us ended with some dessert. Portions were a little on the small side for the price, however it was all delicious. Our waiter was awesome, which added to the experience
Nice Italian theme in the decor, which was well supported by the music and the rest of the atmosphere. My breakfast needs are pretty basic, so I can’t comment on the majority of the menu, but it seem unique and inventive, compared to standard breakfast menus. Service has been great so far!
