It was a surprisingly good place. I was raised in Mexico City, Colima and Mexicali for a great part of my childhood, so this has become a great eatery if you like real Mexican food. No sour cream, but actual cream is a big plus. Different Salsas depending on the type of food that you get is also a super plus, and not just a generic salsa. The churros with the cajeta and dark not so sweet chocolate is a really close stamp to Mexico City. I will definitely go back again and explore the menu even further. Even the place felt like a place you would eat in Mexico, not one with sarapes, sombreros and mexican flags hung all over.

First time here while visiting family, drinks and food excellent. What really made the experience memorable was our server Marina when she took care of us after the lack of any server even coming to greet us. She was fantastic and made what started out as a lackluster experience to a great experience.

Went for the 1st time on my bday. Our server was amazing, and the food was delicious. I ordered the enchiladas and tacos al pastor. The chips & guac are to die for and all the salsas were yummmm!

We loved Olla! Great location, good energy, killer wallpaper and cool decor. The food was great, our favorites were the guacamole, ceviche, pork belly and the churros. Service was incredible and everyone was so friendly and accommodating. Perfect spot for drinks/dinner/happy hour before you hit up downtown venues. Be patient as they work out their new restaurant kinks, but in no time the will be ready to roll and a power house in the downtown scene. Love ya Olla!

Just tried this new restaurant on San Pedro. While the food is not very spicy they do offer homemade habanero sauce (habanero, salt, onion, water) that is nicely blended. I added this to the guacamole and salsas to create a wonderful rich taste. I also had the Pasole (pork shoulder) which was very good. The menu offers a variety of fish and meat dishes. Next time I will try the traditional ceviche made with halibut. They have a wonderful selection of tequila as well.

Great atmosphere, cocktails and food. Traditional Mexican food w/ modern twist that does not compromise on taste and style. Great happy hour menu.

The food here is fantastic. Mexican with a real flair! Margaritas are great. They were slammed and the service was 95%. The only complaint was that it was so fricking cold in that place! The AC was cranked up and we were freezing! We all had to wear our jackets through dinner!

Situated in San Pedro Square, this restaurant boasts delightful interiors and a charming atmosphere. Visiting on a Sunday night meant the place was relatively quiet, allowing us to secure a side hall for ourselves, which was perfect as we were accompanied by kids. There were few vegetarian main course options. Enchilada was good and so was the kid size burrito. Ordered a carafe of Classic Margarita which I recommend. It was worth and gives about 4 glasses.

The food comes out fairly quickly and the ambiance is nice. We opted for sitting outside and managed to be in a nice corner and could enjoy the weather. I always order their chicken mole enchiladas. The chicken is always just right and has big portions to even save half for later. The salsa in the chips & salsa was really good had the perfect amount of smokiness while not being spicy at all. I do love spice but this great for everyone. Great place with options for everyone.

I had the chicken tinga tacos and the chips and salsa. I sat at the bar for lunch. Overall, fabulous vibe and the service was very nice. The salsa was next level—I highly recommend it. The tacos were pretty good. A little messy, but good! Would probably try something else instead, though.

“Go where the locals go” will always deliver and Olla is a great example of this adage! Is 12:30pm too early for a carafe of margarita? Not in this lively, well located and friendly, airy venue for brunch with the cross section of SJ people. I’m no expert when it comes to Mexican style food but from homemade guacamole and chips to citrusy chicken enchiladas, it was the freshness of the food and the warm of our waitress, not just the zing from our salt rimmed tumblers, that made this the most pleasurable way to spend the early afternoon, mopping up the sunshine and atmosphere from our terrace table. Enjoy!

Came by to Olla in a big group and we ended up sitting outside. Order first and staff will bring the food out to you. I ended up getting a steak burrito for myself. Super wide burrito. Wish the meat quality was a bit better. Also had chips and guac and calamari to share. Both were tasty. Staff mixed up our orders a lot...but its reasonable since our party is big. The order first and take a number system is one of my least favorites since staff can be aimlessly wandering to drop food off, and might get it wrong. At the time we went, traffic was blocked off. You can park on the street or nearby garages.

The food was amazing, love love LOVED the street corn, every bite I ate I said how delicious it was. I’d come back for the corn alone. Great spread of flavors, some of the better Spanish rice and refried beans I’ve had from a dine in spot. Still thinking about the corn hahah. The pozole was tasty as well and the salsa was much better than other restaurants.

It was such a great place to have dinner. The food is so amazing. One of the best Mexican places I've been to in this area. But it's def not unknown. Very popular and had a wait time. But man, it was so worth the wait!! The service was great. I can't wait to come back here every time I go to SAP Center.

Olla is a nice little mexican food place in San Pedro square San Jose. The ambiance was nice. A little crowded but, I went at dinner time and the food was great. The server was attentive but not over attentive. I had mole enchiladas and the flavors were amazing could have been a little more spicy in my opinion but it wasn't necessary. I will definitely go back.
