Service was very fast, this place is a must to try for the ones who love burritos and even for those who don't, this people really know how to satisfy the palate and stomach of other people who want to eat well and in abundance. Seen in a Man-vs-food episode, my expectations was very high and not only they really didn't disappointed me, but match my dreams to eat the American way: plentiful and tasty. Not made on purpose, but I preferred the burrito to taco Tuesday on that very day. Taken a super burrito, I've choosen "Al pastor". Highly recommended.
I wish I had taken pictures of the food, but I was too famished to remember. I ended up getting it to go anyway.
The place was spotless, and I actually loved the entrance. It felt like I was entering a roller coaster line queue – pretty cool, right?
I ordered a chicken burrito and a steak burrito. They were quite tasty. But let me highly recommend the horchata; it's so good that I wish I could have it every day. The steak nachos were alright, with generous toppings, crunchy, authentic tortilla chips that reminded me of the ones I enjoy at Superior – similar taste and crunch. The fries were excellent, crispy and not overly potatoey.
The service here was outstanding. The guy at the register was friendly, explained everything well, and had a pleasant speaking voice. He managed to be laid-back and professional at the same time. Apologies for not leaving a tip; I think I got overwhelmed and didn't see the tip option. I usually always tip small businesses. I'll make sure to do that next time!
Now, let's talk about the orange sauce – it was spicy for me but incredibly tasty! There's ample seating both inside and outside. I typically expect stuffy and humid environments in places like this, but it felt clean and had fresh air. The tables were well-kept.
One thing to note is that they don't give you an order number, so make sure you keep an eye on your order. We certainly didn't hear any numbers being called, so a kind customer in the other dining area kept repeating the number to us.
I'll definitely return here. The only downside for me is the color scheme inside. I understand it's iguana-themed, but to me, it felt a bit tacky, like a childhood room decorated with a Minecraft theme. I think a cooler, more modern urban iguana theme would be great. The outside looks cool and hip, but once you're inside, it feels a bit underwhelming. Also, note that the restroom door is locked.
Great local burrito place, and home of the burritozilla. Love the breakfast burritos from here with chorizo, eggs and tots. The orange hot sauce is so good. Been here for lunch too and the normal burritos are good as well. Cool decor and patio.
Is it a Mexican food place? Nope
Is it the best place in the area? Nope
Is it authentic casual Californian food? Yes
Can you find comforting, delicious, consistent food at very affordable prices? Also yes
Do I think you should stick to their burrito menu? Yes, it has it in its name, and you can have the best experience bite after bite.
Do you need to go at least once in your life? Yes
Is their orange sauce the BOOM? HELL YES
Everything on their menu is worth it, so take the time to place your order and prepare your best first impression. Wait for your food while enjoying the music of the place (a perfect playlist, by the way); I recommend you eat outside and enjoy! You will most likely need that after-lunch walk around downtown San Jose.
Good sauce and food, love the vibes here and plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. No prices on menu which is weird. Pretty expensive for a burrito NGL, $16 a bit too much for a super burrito. I like that they’re not stingy with their sauce and they give you plenty for a burrito.
Lots of delicious option. They specialize in burritos so large you begin to question your own reality. Maybe we are all just burritos roaming an Iguanas restaurant.
Regardless the food is very good. And the orange sauce is spicy but a must.
I usually just go for a bean and rice burrito (simple and filling).
First off, I love burritos! Wherever I go to a new Mex restaurant, I get a burrito. If it's not good, I don't go back. With a name like Burritozilla, I had high hopes. It was a solid 4/5 stars. The prices were reasonable considering it's a downtown location. They have a 10% student discount that helped take the expense down. The burrito was decent. Had a good flavor and size, but wasn't the best I've had in downtown (California wet burrito was better). What was surprisingly good were the fries! Crispy and not over salted. Would I go back for another burrito? Maybe after trying a few more places, but definitely for their fries. (If this review was helpful, please hit the like button below)
Great pre race eats before San Jose Rock and Roll Half Marathon.
Worth driving to downtown every time!! The food quality is impecable! Service is always great! Atmosphere is unique and very nice! Highly recommended the “best burrito” if you’re a nacho cheese lover like myself!
Delicious food. Had the Super burrito combo, with beef, beans, rice, tomato. It was not too spicy but really juicy.
I had a chat with the staff who recommend what to eat and explained the whole menu. During happy hour, drinks is included. Moderate prices.
This place is not accessible by wheelchair. Although the outdoor seating has a ramp. There is an restroom, key could be collected at the counter.
Truly a home of Burritozilla!
This casual Mexican eatery is everything burrito, not just any burrito—truly delicious burritos!
On a weeknight, my friends and I found this Mexican restaurant in the neighborhood, just a few steps away from our hotel.
Since we were a group of 12 people, we ordered nearly everything that was on the menu— Burrito, Salad Bowl (Chicken), Tacos, Quesadilla, Drinks, Salsa/Chips, and even fries!
Love the food, (so fresh, genuine prices, portions were good), variety, and service here. More importantly, their service was pretty quick.
-Wheelchair parking and outdoor seating.
#Burrito
We stopped on a family day trip. The location was great, sat on the patio. We had the Burritozilla. It's a 5lb burrito, we split between 4 people. The salsas were great. The burrito was a 8/10.
Went to this place based on the high reviews while I was in town for work. The food was really delicious and filling. Salsa was made fresh and tortilla chips were fresh made (though a bit greasy). The super burrito with carne asada was packed with flavor but very messy and full of liquid (which was running out all over while eating it). They make a nice house hot sauce as well. Service was non-existent even when ordering. Interior could be cleaner. Would recommend for a take-away meal not for dine in.
I ordered the Super burrito and found it quite satisfying and filling, I'm not much of a salsa person, but I did enjoy theirs very much; it tasted unique compared to others that I have tried. I will definitely tell people about this place.
Salsa is good. Cebolla and cilantro were fresh anf not bitter, also the cilantro was cut at the stem and only had leaves, which some people are really picky about. I got tacos and horchata to go but the staff was really nice and the decorations were 👌 also clean bathrooms and in a nice spot
Great spot for Mexican food lovers and home of the GIANT Burritozilla. A 3-tortilla wide Bohemoth of a Burrito. This thing is Ginormous. I seen one made today and it stands up to its name. I had a Mini Burrito, which was still a decent size and had the cashier make me whatever he thought would be good for a first time guest and it was D-licious!!! Highly recommend this joint to anyone looking to try something fresh and unique.
